  1. It seems to be a thing lately. There are lots of coaching staffs that have CO-coordinators. Odd.
  2. Great point Harry. The Latech boards were lit up calling for Holtz to be fired. Unimaginative offense was one of the points that was harped on over and over. Amazing how when the same plays suddenly work, the perception changes.
  3. I am guessing Littrell beat out Applewhite as one of the two finalist opposite Meacham?
  4. Not true, he is actually over the co-offensive coordinators. He is a Leach disciple. His offensives are prolific. He is pretty much exactly what the offensive minded folks have been wishing for in Briles or Riley except he has been doing it longer.
  5. To Harry's earlier point, it would be great if we somehow were able to know who each would bring as their coordinators.
  6. I would certainly not be against seeing a former letterman and a graduate of a Dallas power program find a spot on the new staff. Surely we will be looking for position coaches. Would be great to see him snag one of those. I would think a position coach at UNT would earn comparable/more than the assistant AD of a high school.
  7. Some kids may not know Meacham by name, but they should recognize that he was the OC at TCU. Applewhite will have the advantage of having just gone through most of a recruiting cycle with kids that may be a little closer to our level. He may even be able to flip a few, which is not as likely if we are talking about a TCU recruit. Both should have a full list of kids that they have been talking to all summer and season long.
  8. Maybe the band will set up shop under the club seats before the rest of you get the chance.
  9. I was just having fun poking the bear. I don't doubt that people have left due to RV and more are likely to follow until a change is made or our sports teams start winning consistently.
  10. I am beginning to have my doubts about this guy. He might not be very good.
  11. Can coaches initiate contact with players on scholarship at other schools?
  12. So does this mean he would not live in Denton?
  13. There are plenty of qualified candidates willing to accept a salary of $1 million. When is the last time we hired away a currently employed coordinator from a power conference school?
  14. I guess we will soon see if all the folks that promised to walk away if RV hired the next coach will follow through. It should be an interesting 7 days.
  15. First time I have noticed the scorebox in the lower left of the AllAccess stream. Plus 1 million for whoever made it happen!!
  16. Is someone like a cartel at a D2 school a possibility as a coordinator? Would our coordinator pay be enticing? Not sure what he earns today.
  17. Based on Doug's first post it sounds like he has not interviewed...
  18. If someone would hire McCarney, it sure would help our budget out.
  19. Most of those jobs are pretty far from Texas. If we are intent on Texas ties and preferably someone who is currently recruiting the Texas market, not sure if many of those jobs would be competing for the same candidates we are looking at.
  20. Enough with the Fritz moral victories. We have enough of those. I could be on board with him. I am absolutely confident our people have reached out to his people to gauge interest.
  21. Don't see Penn St and the phrase culture to proud of on the same sentence much these days. Courage to you.
  22. ^^^ Please be careful where you post logic and reason. Grab your pitchfork and run around flailing your arms wildly!!!!
  23. I agree that Fritz should be approached first and try to money whip him along with an offer to come back to Texas. My hope is he would demand a commitment for IPF as part of the deal. No reason, just hope he or the selected candidate asks for it. He seems to be the most realistic 'stretch' for us that is a proven coach and meet most of the criteria. After Fritz, it probably means going down the path of the unproven coordinator, which could also work but seems a little more risky.
  24. Cool. It's settled then. Have a nice life. Bye Felicia.
  25. My mistake. For some reason I thought you were talking about the Georgia Southern game. They played great.
