Thinking about SL last year here. If they gave him a goal of 8 wins I bet everyone thought he would make it given the schedule we had. He was close to it I bet that is why we got a late firing.

SL would have a good choice to keep if we stayed in the water down CUSA. We are taking a big step up and need a coach can take us up to new heights.

He picked up a program that was in a bad way and made it respectable. He ran a clean program with his players not making the headlines in a negative way. He is leaving the program in better shape than he found it. For that he deserves a big thank you and hope he is successful in his new endeavor. Hope he takes a week off and takes his family to Disney World.

We need a coach that is defensive minded. Seems to be lost skill in the day of air raid offense. Or we buy our old DC who was so good book (he really has a book on it) on how to stop the spread offense with a 3-4 and drop it off on the new dc desk.

We have to look at buyouts as well as the salary of coaches.

Who is that guy he cant be UNT person wishing bad on UNT on making a tough call. He must be some how tied to SL. I guess the guy hasn't been to a game to see the drop of in fans at the games. Sl was paid very well for his services and this part of being a head football coach. You have win or go and that is everywhere in football except MTSU. I was watching a program about JUCO and the coaches were saying if they don't win they will be gone. SL should be hired by OU if the coach thinks so highly of him and that is where SL wants to be. Wonder if the guy said SL should stay at UNT when offered the KSU job.

Well if the twins had not left the program maybe the defense would have been better and they could have saved his job. So I guess he got fired because the twins left and that is on them.......not the UNT fan base

I bet if you go to the Sooners fan forum they are calling for new coach after the season they had.

I don't think any person who follows UNT football thought that SL was a bad man. But what school keeps a 500 coach? We had to extend or cut the tie with him. We had flat lined as far as wins go.

Now the hard part finding the right replacement. Wish SL nothing but the best but he looked miserable as head coach. Maybe he takes a year off and spends time with his family and see where life leads him. OU might be looking for OC after this season.
