One question-was UNT your second choice or were you forced to go there against your will? Rumor has it UNT is everyones second choice. I came to UNT to get away from El Paso and I am happy with that decision and i moved back to Denton recently.

UTEP was in the old was with most of the MW conference and got left out when they started the new MW conference. UTEP and new mexico are rivals on the basketball court. Plus UTEP is in the mountain time zone. I am not sure of the Rice connection.

Bad news we will never be USC, Florida, Alabama. TCU is on a roll right now and SMU I have no idea why you would go there except they have sold an image. I grew up in El Paso and when I went to college I wanted to go away. When I went to school (smaller then) I knew one person who was from Denton everyone else was from somewhere else. On Xmas break i see a lot of Texas Tech, Baylor, SFA stickers on cars in town. It can be done but it is a factor you have to overcome. Boise State has two players on their team from Boise.
