  1. We're screwed. I'll have to buy the premium channel over on meangreen.com
  2. The damn conference will be over before they get it "wired" up.......this sucks.
  3. No offense to the jazz community, but where the hell is TD ??????????
  4. Everyone is pumped to see how Meager and Dodge do in their first game together. I am very curious to see how Coach Mendoza calls his VERY FIRST COLLEGIATE GAME. That is as big a story as anything else. With the running game and depth at RB that OU has, it will be ver interesting to see how Coach Mendoza counters. OU is a long way from playing Euless Trinity and Austin Weslake.
  5. Not sure if they will or ever do, I am just curious is all. I would like to see who the backup players are at this stage of the season.
  6. I wonder when UNT will post the traveling squad roster for OU? That will solve a lot of people's questions of the depth chart, especially at WR, LB...........well hell, every position.
  7. After reading some of Dodge's replies and hearing from older people that Dodge was actually booed in some of his day at UT, makes me believe he will be cautious with Vizza and Riley. He will bring along Vizza slow this season and give him a bone a couple of series a game and then turn him loose, imo. I believe if Vizza is successful, then he'll shirt Riley and then the battle will begin. I read some comments that Dodge said that most D-1 Qb's do not have a lot of sucess until they are Juniors. Riley will be a Junior when Vizza is long gone and graduated.....makes some sense to me.
  8. How many fans will do you expect to come to Ford for the game? I guess it might get interesting depending on the outcomes of the OU vs. UNT game and SMU vs. Tech.
  9. The problem with the OU Qb is he doesn't have to make plays. The OU running game will give us fits and then simple TE drags over the middle and play action will kill us. Inexperieced QB is not a factor unless our defense can play lights OUT "D." Based on what I saw our first team offense do against a scout defense in the Mock Game, I don't think OU is sweating starting a young redshirt QB, imo. I hope I am wrong but I see some body bags and some kids who may not have the SACK to stay in against that OU defense. I don't see us having any running game. Meager doesn't really like to run the football and will be forced out of the pocket, BIG TIME. His history of concussions and injuries is a concern against this caliber of defense.
  10. Under Armour Signs, banners, etc., will eventually be all over the stadium as part of the contract.
  11. I now believe after watching our first team (at the Mock game) that Dodge plan is to use Meager early on and give him his opportunities. That is the correct thing to do. #1 it keeps our young, future Qb healthy for the rest of season while our O-line comes of age and our O-Line gains the pass protection experience it so desperately needs. Vizza did actually play with the first team a series or two. He moved the ball and looked very poised for being so young. I have been paying close attention to Meager's comments during his interviews. He keeps mentioning that the QB race is a on going competition. I assume that Dodge that told him that he has to compete and execute to hold onto the job. Danny is the #1 but I believe he has to produce to hold onto the position for more than 2 or 3 games. I will bet my bag of $3 peanuts, that Vizza sees some significant time after what I witnessed against a scout defense. Vizza actually looked sharper than Meager BUT he also didn't get the reps to make a good analysis and comparison and that is not fair to Meager. Our recieving core looks like Brock, Casey, Brandon, and Washington with Breece, Dibrell, BJ and Rod backing them up. All indications are that Roberson and King will shirt. (unless they others do not produce or because of injuries)
  12. New sponsor. http://www.eagleoptics.com/index.asp?pid=888 Perfect name, great product, great tie in.
  13. Rough outing for the Mean Green. OU could get ugly the way the first team offense played. Hopefully, we got all the interceptions and mistakes out of the way now. Daniel had his moments but threw at least 4 picks. Running game was weak. Referees, coaches in press box, clock, etc., etc............they tried to simulate, as much as possible, game conditions. With the OU crowd and Stoops wanting to hang some points on our staff to give them their initiation to colllege football, they just might throw 60 points or more on us. Our biggest win against OU will be keeping everyone healthy so that we beat the hell out of SMU. Also I highly recommend these new field glasses I bought. I could see pretty damn good from outside the stadium with these babies. http://www.eagleoptics.com/index.asp?pid=888
  14. This will be the break out game for Meager or Vizza. Willis has not beaten a Dodge coached team and it doesn't start this season. DL health is a concern coming out of the OU game, however.
  15. Rick is a class man. What D-1 AD goes on a message board to answer his critics? Rick, congrats on the new contract. It is well deserved. You have the program headed in the right direction.
  16. That scouting analysis is about as good as it gets.............signed Gil Brandt.
  17. Wow Stan, thanks for putting me on notice. I will now officially retire to my new handle. White flag goes up........I bend up over like a Frenchman........I retreat like Napolean or Butter Bean, whatever the hell his name is......to be never heard from again........NO more grammar lessons, no more kissing up to Emmitt, and just no more Dodge2007. Peace......... Sing along with me.....................(since I am a douche, think Diana Ross or Emmitt, one of those sings this song) At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinkin’ I could never live without you by my side Then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong And I grew strong And I learned how to get along And so you’re back from outer space I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second you’d be back to bother me Go on now, go walk out the door Just turn around now ’coz you’re not welcome anymore Weren’t you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did you think I’d crumble? Did you think I’d lay down and die? Oh no not i, I will survive For as long as I know how to love, I know I’ll stay alive I’ve got all my life to live And I’ve got all my love to give I’ll survive I will survive Hey hey (i, I will survive) Hey hey (i, I will survive) Every day (i, I will survive) Oh yeah Until we meet again.................Dodge2007 RIP
  18. Tasty, it is going to be real easy for a dude called MS. Meager, who loves to fling shrap, that is loved like no other douche bag on the board, and whose career is the sanitation dept., to be an ARROGANT ASS at Ford Field. Not sure what colors I'll have on but I definitely we be an arrogant, no good SOB who will be looking for the biceps of the greek god, the infamous, .............aw never mind, you get the point.
  19. The only good I see out of Miami wanting to buy out of the contract IS MORE MONEY FOR UNT FOOTBALL and more likely, even a bigger pay day with LSU. Let me break out my Douche computer and check the math. Buyout likely $350,000. Go to LSU for another $500,000. Now let me punch that bad boy in the computer..........it is going to take me awhile...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I think I got it. Buyout netted UNT an additional ???????????? my computer wouldn't go that high.. Gosh, if only everygame could be a buyout, THEN WE WOULD HAVE A STADIUM AS BIG AS Rick's biceps. (without any fundraising)
  20. Great idea, I am coming back with a new handle called DoucheDodge, the SMU way !!!
  21. Another good post. Off-season is the time to express opinions, state the facts you KNOW FOR SURE, and to stir up the pot to see what shakes out. If you don't make some bold predictions or make up some damn good BS..........then it sure is a boring site when their is no football to play. These boards are to "fling the shrap" and if your panies get in a wad, then get off the board. I am the H20 boy and kiss Dodge's ass every day. I also pick up garbage in the evening but my main job is to start sh.t on this freakin board. I laugh my ass off at the posts made by Emmitt and some of the others "calling me out." To be able to get their goat is just funny to me. Hell, I am the biggest SMU fan on the board. Stir it up, crank it up, fire it up, and now Rick wants to strap it on. Rick is the poster boy for all the fire fighters who are on the calendar.......you know the kind of calendar I am talking about..........strutting their stuff without their shirts off, pumping iron at the fire house and make middle age woman scream. That a boy Rick, lower yourself to the slime they call Dodge2007 aka SMU PONY, aka H20 boy, aka Ms. Meager, aka Riley Dodge's agent.
  22. The best line ever is "hey Emmitt, I'm your freakin Huckleberry."
  23. Great post. Your right. Meager, Vizza, and Dodge all played in spread offenses in high school and this system could be tailored to them all, especially Riley. Riley has seen this offense since middle school.
  24. Daniel won it in spring ball and then did enough this summer. He has all the experience and was the logical choice.... end of story. Now it is time to produce and to make good decisions with the ball. Meager has and will have to continue to step up his game because Vizza is only going to get better and better and made TD's decision tougher than it should have been. I am a Meager believer but I also am a realist when it comes down to a True freshman giving Danny all he wants in such a short period of time. Let's rally around Meager and the chips will fall where they lay. The great news this season is that we have a future QB who is waiting in the wings for his opportunity to get on the big stage, that can really play.
