Here's my story: In one of my RTVF classes last week we were actually discussing online communities that we take part in. I mentioned that I'm a HUGE fan of Mean Green Athletics and then mentioned this board. There were a few "yeah"s shouted after I said athletics. And then some interested looks after I mentioned the forum. This was in a class of just 16 students, so I consider it be a pretty nice ratio. I went on to mention that I'm a huge baseball fan and really don't have a great spot to discuss that, but that UNT is getting a baseball program. That elicited an "aw, sweet" from the back of the class. I've also noticed around the RTVF building that there's been quite a bit more UNT apparel being worn. Considering we're the "artsy" students, this is a HUGE win to me. And like others, when walking out and about campus, I'm noticing way fewer articles of clothing from other schools. The times, they are a changin', my friends.

Given the architecture around Apogee, I dig it!

I'd like to thank Channel 21 for locally picking up the game. And then I'd like to chew them out for holding onto the Maryland/Syracuse game while we missed seeing UNT jump out to a 21-0 lead. Glad to see Dajon regulate though!

I remember that Sac N' Save fondly. I remember having a pretty bad bout of "sour gut" one morning during my first semester on campus (around February of 2013, I believe). As I was arriving on campus, it hit the hardest and that dilapidated store was the first place I saw and that deuce was about to drop somethin' real bad. (McDonald's was not an option, because I'm generally opposed to bombing a restroom in a place where people are eating) I ran straight in and looked for the bathroom. The look and smell of the store alone nearly made what was trying to force its way out go right back up in and come out the other way. When I opened the door to the bathroom, I quickly made an about face and took off for the exit. Seriously, words cannot describe what I saw, smelled and heard. I clenched up really fast. Nothing was coming out after that! Sac N' Save . . . more like "Sac N' Save Me From Ever Going in Again." I think that place saved my life. I ended up staying in "lock down mode" until I got on campus and bombed a stall in the Academic Building. There was already someone else having the same problem in another stall. Therefore, I maintained my anonymity and nobody ever knew about it . . . until now. It feels good to get that off my chest. Thanks, Sac N' Save. Stay hard, Sac N' Save!

No question this needs to happen now. Whether it actually will or not . . . we gotta hope!

Anyone else picturing that one kid in the neighborhood? You know the one. While you and your friends are fighting over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, he'd come racing out of his house to the car saying, "I don't want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! My dad's taking me to Braum's for burgers and milkshakes!" Yeah, I'm picturing that kid right now.

Something tells me they'll really bottom out around November 8th or 15th.

Common sense tells me that starting a season 0-6 is even closer to the bottom than starting a season 0-2. But I don't know. I'm receiving my education from UNT so maybe I don't undertand how the world works.

I was just trying to shoehorn in a sarcastic RV jab. (Although I'll admit, after he talked about beer "flavors" a couple of weeks ago, I assumed he'd said "sold.")

I watched the first Beyond the Green episode of the season, and I loved seeing the segment they did about Pegram. What a competitor! And the fact that he scored that TD following the injury with his knee basically shredded like thinly sliced deli meat is nothing short of amazing.

Would it be crazy to try and schedule a team like Boise? Granted, they're tricky as hell and we'd have to play a game or two on their blue turf but that's a sexy match-up that would get us some notoriety if we took them down. Plus, we'd have a high-powered offense challenging our stout defense. I think that would be a lot of fun, but maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I'm kind of thinking that a great idea would be to start aiming for some of the upper-G5 teams in the event that the P5 becomes untouchable.

I heard the tail end of it last night while driving home from work when 105.3 does The Midnight Snack. (Would prefer Farrell for my drive home, but his voice just gives me instant laryngitis). Am I crazy or did I hear him start basically griping about how SMU isn't "trying hard enough" now with recruiting, and then went on to point out "All the other successful teams are cheating now. Why isn't SMU?" Then the host was having a good laugh with him about it and then Dickerson said something along the lines of "If you're not cheating, you're not trying." I swear I remember hearing that.

A press release issued by the North Texas Athletic Department had Head Football coach Dan McCarney state the following: "We (North Texas) and our players' mothers are rubber and Louisiana Tech is glue. Whatever they say will bounce off of us and stick to them."

OK I thought so. I was thinking that had happened after we'd left. But he did muff one around early 2nd quarter that SMU recovered.
