As a Green Brigade alumnus and current high school band director, I have to say that it's not as easy as it sounds...especially with budgets being next to nothing. Also, the competitive landscape in October for high school marching bands literately lends to no free Saturdays for the last two weeks of September through all of October. In addition, when you take 200 students to an event, you have to collect 200 permission slips, get 200 meals, pass out 200 uniforms, etc. I would love for my band to come out, but it is completely and totally more work than it is worth and has little to no educational value. What will my students get out of going to a UNT game? Playing a couple of corny tunes at half time that no one, including the Green Brigade students, wants to play? Food for thought...

Is this game being televised in any way, shape, or form?

Why does it have to be the coaches or players fault? Can't the blame be distributed between both? If you think that every player on this team is giving maximum effort or they have loads of heart, you're delusional. If you think Tony Benford does not have some SERIOUS downfalls as a head basketball coach, you too fall into this category. The fact of the matter is that the combination of the two major components of this machine may very well work with other people, but they don't work well together. Edited for grammar.

On the bright side, Benford can only sub so many times with limited numbers on the bench...

This is exactly the reason it is Benford's fault...you're telling me that we are money in the paint yet we took more than twice as many mid to long range jumpers than high percentage shots. That's poor scheme.

I'm just pissed that we have all these physical big men and yet we still pass around the arch for the majority of our positions. The team seems unprepared to drive the hole. 1 of 3 things happens when you drive the lane: you make a high % shot, you get fouled, or you miss. 2/3 of those are great options and with the big men we have, we should do that every time. Also, if you do it enough, it will open up the jumper for people like Alzee and Chris. The players have been doing awfully, but Benford has done nothing that I can see to try and adjust and compensate for that. Though, I did thoroughly enjoy winning the chicken toss...after failing hard twice.
