Wish we could! I'm a Navy vet & would LOVE to see us play a good series with them like we did Army.

Great post Rick, as usual. I love the SOW. I believe it's one of the coolest logos in sports, but I'm a bit biased. It's really cool seeing one so similar on a military jet.

So I've researched more & the RAAF squadron might not have started using it until around 2007. Possibly the pic I found was not from 2003. I'm actually going to reach out to the squadron to see if they can give me a year they started using that logo. Still pretty cool the similarities!

2005 sounds about right. I would imagine UNT would have received permission to use a similar logo. It's not the exact same but close enough that permission should be required. I believe I've heard of or seen another instance of an organization using a logo similar to a military unit. Maybe it's not a big deal with defense departments.

I'm a Navy (aviation) Vet & military aviation enthusiast. Not sure if this has been brought up previously, but I came across some pics of a Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornet & the new F-35 with a VERY familiar squadron logo. I can't remember when UNT rebranded, but I found a 2003 pic from this squadron with this logo. You can Google "RAAF 3 Squadron" for more info. Is this where we got our SOW? I was pretty shocked when I saw it.

LOL! Nothing wrong with an obsession, as long as it's legal! However, I hope we NEVER use the the interlocking NT. Too generic, & SOW is 100 times better. Just my humble opinion.

It's a standard color shell they already have. I would imagine they're not going to make our color green until we sell enough units to justify their cost.

We've heard so much praise for Dunbar - from Garrett & in various articles. He's such a playmaker & has the skills to really make plays. BUT THEY BARELY USE HIM! Am I missing something? I just don't understand. How is he supposed to ever find a groove or get into any kind of rythm if he barely plays?

VERY COOL. I like the checkerboard look. I don't understand why we don't have more green in Apogee. Most major programs' stadiums are filled with their colors. Apogee looks very plain & needs a color upgrade. Maybe that will help get fans more motivated to go to games (other than winning, of course). Surely it would help motivate players. It's all about the attitude. GREEN, GREEN, & MORE GREEN!

AGREED. I also think those were the best helmets so far, & the best uni combo so far. I definitely don't want to overdo the black, but it did look good on TV.

Yes, completely unacceptable. It's immaturity at it's finest combined with alcohol. I'm in my 40's now & I think we've all seen what alcohol can do to adults too. It's embarrassing this stuff happens, but it happens pretty much everywhere. Hopefully the opposing players/fans understand that, but that doesn't make it ok.

I never said DT was a great QB, just that he was improved. Improved enough to be able to open the offense some & not be so one-dimentional.

I don't think Coach Mac was outcoached. We saw this early on with DT at QB. The offensive game plan was conservative because of the lack of QB play. They began to open up with DT once he started proving he could make plays. Replay the HOD Bowl & you can see how much DT improved from his earlier days. Coach Mac is just reliving this same scenario. This offense will open up once a competent QB is under center.

This team has the ability to win games. There's plenty of talent on the D too, but you can't have them on the field ALL THE TIME. The single most important position on a football team is the QB, and we are lacking quality there. Receivers were open all night, but they didn't have anyone to get them the ball. Also, I don't understand why Evans is the 4th string RB. He lit it up in the Spring Game. I know competition increased after that, but he's looks great every time they put him in.

Maybe DW becoming a starter would force him to grow up a little. Sometimes someone needs to be put into difficult & responsibile positions to grow up. It's worth a try.

Was it me, or could you hear the crowd boo after Greer came back out? Greer abviously is not ready to be the stater. A change needs to be made at QB before the entire team loses their motivation. If Greer remains the starter, our season will continue just like La Tech & their gameplan. La Tech had no respect for Greer, and it clearly showed. Other teams will continue to do the same unless a change is made. I think Coach Mac is smart enough to make the change. I doubt he wants to sabotage the season by keeping in a QB that just can't get it done. If he makes a change, then at least he can say he tried.

The color hasn't been accurate for a while on the minis. The color will probably be whatever the stock kelly green is for Riddell & Schutt, which is normally who makes these. I doubt they'll make special shell colors for us. I'm sure they'll be posted on the Fanatics website once they're available for sale.

You've stated before the helmets will change. I'm assuming you have a great source on this by the looks of your confidence. If so, is this going to be the new permanent helmet, or are we still using the text helmet as the main helmet?
