Too far....or too close? Been looking forward to this since January 2nd. Mean Green Countdown started at 100 days and now it is more than halfway over.

I'm going to have an amazing trip to Austin and I will get me meet a lot of people for first time such as the Mean Green Maniac. I'm getting a vibe from Twitter there could be a rather large student contingent going, although some can't afford to but would love to. I think it's safe to assume he is back on the team based on Vito's blog. If it's a week's long suspension, I'm fine with it. Especially if the message that was intended to be delivered was received. Shoot, I'm actually really excited if it is only a week because that says more to me about Sed and his attitude and approach to this situation than anything else. Let's be real, they both did something incredibly dumb but not that severe. UNT90 laid it all out. TCU players are "pushing weight" (Twitter taught me that means "selling narcotics") and A&M players were pulled over for assault with warrants out for failure to appear for other violations. In all honesty, I believe they may have done this to impress some girls. But I really have no clue. Just what I can make of it from Twitter. However, it was dumb. Very dumb especially given their circumstances as D-1 athletes. Too jeopardize that is, well, flat-out DUMB! However, I never believed they should be kicked off the team. I believed, and hoped, Sed & Chris would learn (as we all have) that when you do dumb things, you have to make amends. I would have been disappointed if either player was not afforded the opportunity to make this right. Why? Because it would have been tragic to see them throw the opportunities that lie in front of them down the drain for plastic screens. I believe both players will now work that much harder to restore their reputations as well as the UNT FB program reputation. It appears as though they might get that chance and I'll be rooting for them to capitalize on it!

I'm still not over that loss last year, although in hindsight I'm kind pf glad it happened since without that, we might not have been in HOD Bowl, and that has been the highlight of 2014 so far. For all those who picked SMU, I understand. Home opener, should be 30K strong and a win will help the momentum of capacity crowds throughout the season as well as defend our crown as Dallas Champions. Plus, it is SMU The GREAT news is, we really don't have to pick. Let's just go win the next game and stay in the hunt for the CFB playoffs. And yes, I'm serious.

Not to self incriminate myself, but LOL! Fantastic post UNT90 Just my 2 cents, they should not be thrown off the team. Mac would not lose credibility with me if they remain on the team. Seems like the need leadership, structure, responsibility now more than ever. Also, Twitter is a powerful platform. For the Mean Green fans who choose to use it, please use it as a source of positivity and support for our players and coaches. We're just fans, we don't need to create a environment where they resent their fans. Kind of goes back to what we all (I assume) were taught as children, "if you don't have anything nice to say..."

My personal favorite scene of him on BTG was after he finished talking to his players on D and walked passed the offense banging on lockers saying "LET'S GO O!". Basically, illustrated exactly what you just said. He was calm, cool and collected while teaching his guys on the mistakes they made on how to correct them, and then fired up with an insane amount of energy to rally the troops. We are very fortunate to have the coaches that we currently have.
