Heard they are meeting tonight. Any word on if it is at Jimmy John's? If it is, what would you put the over/under at for how many sandwiches those two could put away?
-
How do you know it's a regular? This "Ben Bading" makes their first post about Dr. Smatresk and that he shouldn't really be trusted to hire a new AD, or help with a coaching search, and that we should "temper our expectations". It appears obvious to me this parody account is run by someone who has a strong preference for Jimmy John's sandwiches

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/25218362/report-many-at-texas-unhappy-with-athletic-director-steve-Patterson "5. He does have some support. It's not like everybody associated with the school is approaching with torch and pitchfork. There are some who just think that the people at Texas just need to adjust to a new leadership style after dealing with former athletic director DeLoss Dodds for over 30 years. “I think Steve Patterson needs time to implement his initiatives,” said prominent Texas booster and former player Bob Moses. “Change is hard. We all know that. But sometimes change is necessary.” Still, while Patterson may have his supporters, they don't seem to be nearly as vocal as his detractors. It will be interesting to see if Patterson suffers the same fate Dave Brandon did at Michigan, or if success on the field in the future will help everybody deal with the new way of doing business in Austin." Apparently, not EVERYBODY at Texas. Much like that situation... RV does have some support. It's not like everybody associated with the school is approaching with plane and banner. There are some who just think that the people of North Texas need new leadership after dealing with athletic director Rick Villarreal for 15 years.

In the infamous words of Brian Williams, "I was there" ...at least until the 3rd, when my wife's back started hurting and the friends we brought looked really disinterested after I promised them what I thought would be a competitive game... I wanted to see Smith in the 2nd half, but instead McNulty went back in. I told them if he went in for another series, we could jet. Next thing ya know, we're at East Side following the Mac news on Twitter

Who Should Be The Next Head Coach @UNT
MeanGreenD replied to Eagle-96's topic in Mean Green Football
cozyone has posted three times, and all three had to do with promoting Chris Tomsen for HC...I for one say, welcome to the board Chris Tomsen! -
20 INT's!? That would be rough but I would be willing to ride it out with him in hope of next year. I do not think this will happen, I don't know if he'll even throw one as he knows this defense. He went up against them during his time there. This is the perfect game for him to start which makes me believe we have a puncher's chance of pulling off an unprecedented victory tonight. #GMG #LockTheGate

So much for holding our cards close to our (sweater) vest. I would love to attend a poker night at the Athletic Department.

MGB breaking news -- Three suspended for tonight's game
MeanGreenD replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Y'all are assuming they were suspended for violating social media ban, if that were the case, Kirby would be snapping the ball to Smith and he wouldn't have anyone to throw it to (props to those guys for actually staying off of it) The article doesn't state that this was what they were suspended for. -
what does this mean? too fanny?

Official WKU Game Score Prediction Thread
MeanGreenD replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
This is going to take a super heroic effort as Doughty is garnering national attention and finding his name mentioned as a NFL QB. He's headed towards a bright spotlight next week in Baton Rouge against LSU and he knows he can truly make a name for himself in that game. So just come to Denton, fling it around and run up the score early so he can get out and rest up for his big game... Problem is, our players just got slapped in the face with a harsh sense of reality. They've played piss poor, with no effort, energy, or passion. They embarrassed former players, alumni, students, everyone. They got a head coach they respected fired. They realize this isn't a game, there is a lot more than just themselves at stake. They're pissed off and short week plays to our advantage as they haven't had much of a chance to unleash their anger. Everyone to a man steps up and wins their individual assignments. They get back to playing for the man beside them and delivering the blows instead of taking them. Canales rallies the troops, Smith makes plays against a defense he knows inside and out, and Wilson hammers away to keep our defense, and Doughty, off the field. Somehow, someway, they step up and WIN. Get the job done and carry some confidence into the Marshall game. Yahoo gave me a 1% chance to win my fantasy matchup going into MNF. Won by half a point, thanks Antonio Gates! -
LOL I hope so, I feel the strongest part of his game is signaling the plays in. I saw him doing it during the Iowa broadcast, and man, he really gets into it. Hopefully, he has a good attitude towards this thing. Since he knows the playbook inside and out, he could be an asset to Smith on the sidelines. Would love to see them communicate and work together to pull out a victory on Thursday.

Doubt it, I was wondering about this earlier today. Curious if they can turn it around quickly enough with someone new or if they would just cut it. What if RV is in the race? I would love it, just to hear the crowd reaction. I'll be there Thursday night, I'm actually really excited about it. #GMG

2012 Southern Mississippi - Is This Us ?
MeanGreenD replied to akriesman's topic in Mean Green Football
Guess the would depend on your definition of "competitive" http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2015/10/unt-picked-eighth-in-c-usa-for-mens-hoops.html/ -
My optimism has been taken away by cold, hard reality. We are not beating PSU. There's a better chance of Jimmy John's making Rick Villarreal their official spokesperson

I hope Carlos has a big day, should if he can find those holes in zone coverage. Him and Wilson might should be enough to carry the load offensively so you're right, defense is going to have to win the day if we are to be victorious.
