  1. I tweeted at MeanGreenSports about the popcorn obviously being related to throwing it on the field and they retweeted me. LOL.
  2. I'm totally blown away with the marketing for the ULL game. When I was watching the Texans on ESPN, I saw like five commercials, all the restaurants in the Denton area are running a deal/free ticket thing of some sort, on campus there are posters EVERYWHERE, and even in Fort Worth there are miscellanious stores and restaurants advertising the game. Unfortunately it looks like the cancelling classes thing failed, but they're giving the students free popcorn (hilarious, it's all going to be on the field). This is why I think attendance will be huge. But why does it take a ESPN game to market our football team?
  3. 25K isn't an accomplishment for us. The fact of the matter is, your fanbase is as weak and bandwagon-centric as ours. We've been a joke of college football for our existence and we pull 22K twice or so a year with no visiting fans, but you lose a few games and you bring 22K? Wow. Maybe the attendance would get back into the 8K range for UH if y'all sucked like we do.
  4. Y'all lose a few games after going 13-1 and your attendance drops to NT levels. Glass house...
  5. Yeah, it is. I don't keep an arsenal of insults to use on the internet.
  6. Because any time you tell a Dallasite you are from Houston you get "Ewww traffic humidity mosquitoes"
  7. I only shoot back about my dislike of Ft. Worth once people with complexes rag on Houston.
  8. Yeah, like KRAM. Teach him to follow the rules.
  9. Kinda similar to y'all's tolerance for differences right?
  10. Just keep in mind this place is a small, very small, portion of the fan base and is the butt of most jokes. It is changing. Many of the posters here still adhere to it though.
  11. Oh, you're under 21? Well, then you're a stupid kid according to these guys. Just wait until they start attacking your personal life. "Maturity."
  12. I regret posting my thread, but I was just so pissed off. Anyway, yup, small time fan base. Our current base of young alumni and students are changing, eventually we'll get past this small time mentality that permeates this place once people grow up a bit.
  13. I love your sig about uniting as one. We're so small time, all we do is bicker.
  14. This place is the cesspool of our fan base. I admit I overreacted, but yeah this place sucks. Why do you think every few weeks someone comes then leaves? Hell, we even chased off our sports reporter from here. There's a freaking anti-GMG.com for the love of God.
  15. Would you like to see KRAM's comment about Houston, "buddy"? Pull the stick out of your ass and grow up. I was ripping on the UH fans poor attendance. But ripping on Houston is just childish unless you want UNT to remain a regional school as a massive proportion of Houstonians attend UNT.
  16. People on here are super fans and we're idiots for being critical, didn't you know?
  17. Yeah, because I'm from Houston and am not okay with you people making fun of it I'm "Houston D-Bag #2". You're UNT D-Bag #1000. People like you make me question why I went here. Luckily you're just a minute part of the fanbase. Anyway, I was angry over the loss and probably overreacted. McCarney deserves time.
  18. I'm a Cougar fan because I defend Houston? News to me. I didn't start ripping the other city first, you imbecile.
  19. Exactly. I've tried to calm down on here and be a nice, contributing member but seriously I just think it's so ridiculous that people on here and in DFW think it necessarily to slam Houston whenever they get a chance. And I will defend my town. We got beat up bad and that's no reason to rip the crap out of Houston.
  20. I actually never said that Houston was a better sports town. A better town, sure. But I was replying to KRAM, who was ragging on Houston as a whole like a good D/FW citizen. Dallas is FAR more successful when it comes to sports, at least historically. Right now Houston sports is a little better, but that doesn't make Houston a better sports town. I seriously question myself as to why I returned to D/FW. Arrogance here is just ridiculous.
