  1. There's absolutely no way they do. Telling me the attendance for Southern and Troy was the same? Please. Students will graduate and buy tickets on the alumni side. You build a fanbase with the students. That's what's ocurring. Winning, we get the T-shirts. I'd rather have 17K rabid fans than 30K quiet fans like UH.
  2. Depends how the season turns out. We'll see, this may be the turning point. We've never had a win this big (much less at home) in recent memory.
  3. UNT isn't much of a commuter school anymore and that's why the students show up. Filling up half of the stadium with 6K students is more than most non-AQ and even some AQ schools do. Look at Houston, they brought, what, 400/500 students to their game versus us and even less last week?
  4. This year all the games have been severely undercounted, except maybe the Southern game. Last year they seemed heavily inflated. We had 22K for Southern, 25K for Troy and 20K for the ULL game.
  5. Derek wasn't missing the easy passes tonight. We'd probably have won against Troy if he wouldn't have launched the ball over everyone's head that game. Tonight, even on the playaction, he was putting the ball in the basket even on the long throws with the exception of a few and that's all we need him to do.
  6. Most of the marketing was to the students and they showed up. Best student turnout so far. And they had 20K at the game, but our counting severely shortchanges us, yet again. My Dad asked me if it was a sellout because it looked like it on ESPN. 17K on a Tuesday night game that was late as hell was good. I expected better, but I'm satisfied with the turnout. People left at halftime because it was 11 o'clock and it got freezing cold. Made sense. I had no problem. Students stayed for the most part and it was a late night party. People wanted to rush the field but held back (thank God). The students will keep showing up. And once these students graduate, they'll keep buying seats. It's fun to watch the student dedication grow since I got here in 2010. 6K-7K is pretty impressive and is on par with a lot of school's student sections. If you look at UH, they may pull 30K but then pull 2K students. The student section is loud and right on top of the away, and gives us a MASSIVE homefield advantage. Especially when UL-Losers band kept playing our chants. LOL!
  7. All I know is, until the end, it looked great on ESPN. 17k or not. Bodes well for the future. 7 losing seasons and we've had 6K students for three games? Stunning. If you didn't notice, we filled up our section and students were sitting in the Wing zone. That hadn't happened since UH. We have a diehard core of fans, it's gonna get better.
  8. Student section bled into the endzone, lower bowl was mostly full. 22K. At halftime, a lot left because it got COLD and late. ESPN says 17K but there's no way it was 17K. Same as last week, with questionable numbers.
  9. It was 22K, why are you complaining?
  10. Okay, we get it, basketball should be good but this forum is for football not for our amazing basketball team.
  11. Explain how we held Troy's amazing offense to 14 at home? Playing at home is a massive advantage. Ask the Aggies.
  12. Never underestimate homefield advantage...Troy has a good offense and we held them to 14 at home...
  13. Look, I could care less if we are just the commercial game. It's still good publicity. Debates are irrelevant because they don't even debate anymore, they just interrupt each other and there is no fact-checking until afterward and they are not held accountable.
  14. People still watch the debates? Color me shocked. All they do is lie. What's the point?
  15. Yeah, there were which is why I don't know anymore. I just want another crowd like the UH game.
  16. Well, I think that that may be why you click "Best Available" it pulls up 203 because it requires a donation; they're more expensive. Oh well. Got excited there for a minute. To be fair, if we get the sides empty and the student side/wing zone mostly full, it'll still look nice and be loud.
  17. Yeah, if you use the mobile version or click "Select seats for me" and pick Best Available it brings up Section 203, so I don't know. It's all screwy, but just not sure that it is anything to get too excited about, what Ticketmaster says.
  18. It shows all sold out alumni side on Ticketmaster's site, but pretty much the entire endzone open.
  19. Me too, which is why I'm a little skeptical. As much as I'd like it, I just have a hard time believing that many people will show up tomorrow.
  20. I honestly think we will be okay. Thompson is streaky. We need him the good version of him to show up.
  21. Anyone close to the AD got any ideas as to attendance, if that Ticketmaster reading is correct?
  22. Wow. The attendance may be way more than what I was anticipating. I was thinking in the 22K range. For the fanbase's sake and the city's perception of us, especially with people knowing we're playing (look at this UNT 21 thing) we CAN NOT lose this game.
