Read on Twitter that the lower bowl is sold out...we shall see how many actually show up...I expect a good game, I decided to fly to Newark tomorrow instead of today for this freaking game.
-
I said this before, Power will be in the NFL.
-
I can hope that this game is the turn-around. I just don't see it.

Race begins to be power conference No. 6

What are you talking about? UNT was plenty successful then. -
Pretty sick backfield, Whitfield, Davis, and the new Kilgore dude.
-
This is just an embarrassment.
-
Hoping that the crowd + the two main guys show up. The amount of scouts at this game is more than usually are at a Kentucky game.
-
Yes we do! Freaking A. So ready to see what he will do.

You think Petrino was a good hire for WKU? Oh Lord. UT hated Harsin, too.
-
I think Chico may be a better head coach than offensive coordinator. The run they had post-Dodge was fun.
-
The SELA and Troy game will have some rough attendance.
-
Dude. Benford is just terrible.

Your opinion after St. Louis performance

This round of realignment is done. We're okay for now and you people don't get it. The MWC has less money, farther and less known opponents and different time zones. -
Glad to hear the Crew was lively tonight. I worked, but I'll be at the rest of the games. Planning on scripting some heckling.

I love this guy.

Tulsa World...leaky, leaky?
meangreener replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
I still don't understand why Tulsa and UTEP want to go to the Mountain West. I hope we have a backup plan. This conference won't be any worse than the current Sun Belt, as it's DOA, but not any better than the Belt was this year. We still have the TV money and name recognition though. I think we stick it out. Moving to the MWC is no different than moving to last year's Sun Belt. -
Why does everyone think UTSA or Rice are leaving? What allure does the MWC hold? There's none. Might as well still be in the Belch.
-
Everyone keeps saying Tulsa and UTEP to the Mountain West. What exactly is the point of them moving to the MWC? There's less revenue, less TV deals and farther travel for those two teams (maybe not UTEP). Tulsa to the Big Least is a possibility, but I don't see that happening. And there's no way Rice would leave, either. I think, for the moment, CUSA is stable, at least until another round of realignment. And Southern Miss isn't going anywhere, if they can't get into the Big East, there's no viable options left, unless the Big 12 or SEC came calling (not going to happen). The Sun Belt, however, is dead in the water. Which is a little concerning because despite moving up, we'll still be in the worst FBS conference. I don't think though it matters if you're in the MWC/MAC/CUSA, just make the best of it, and try to grab that last playoff spot and you'll be okay. We may be in a weaker football conference going forward, but honestly, the Sun Belt was horribly weak for 10 years and just had one good year; but yet, we still have a.) no BCS busters and b.) no Top 25 teams. Both of which CUSA has had (and has had multiple times. Also, CUSA has a closet full of bowl tie-ins and a huge budget that's not going anywhere coupled with a pretty nice TV contract. I'm going to love being able to turn on FSN Southwest and watch the "Mean Green Insider" and the CUSA preview. We have to make our splash on the FIELD next year. This sounds completely outrageous and ridiculous, but anything less than 8-4 is not going to give us the step we need. We can leap frog to the front of realignment in the future with a successful season with a fantastic schedule and some well known conference opponents, or do the UNT thing and just fall in a 4-8 or 5-7 season. Either way, the Sun Belt is dead, we just have to position ourselves to make another jump to a conference on the level of the one we thought we just joined. One last point, this is what I've been saying all along, is that CUSA isn't even about better football anymore. It's about getting 25K-30K in that stadium every week. A conference that is perceived to be better with name recognition attracts the casual fan. Everybody has heard of the CUSA. Everybody has heard of Southern Miss, ECU, Tulsa, Marshall, Rice, UTEP etc. We just need to win to keep the 25K there. I can't tell you how many times I got a "Who are we playing this week?" and I reply with "Louisiana-Lafayette, South Alabama, Troy" and everyone goes "WHO?" and then don't show up because it makes them think we're playing the little sisters of the poor. Name recognition=attendance (at least initially)=money and hopefully success will add in there, even. Because even in the NEW CUSA, people know Old Dominion, Charlotte (hell, I saw a Charlotte 49er shirt the other day) based off of basketball and people know UTSA because we're close to them. This move is about perception, and I don't think it really matters if it is on paper a weaker conference (the SBC is dead anyway); playing an 0-10 Southern Miss squad is more interesting than playing another hyphen school, like a 5-1 Louisiana-Lafayette squad in the eyes of the casual fan or a directional school no one knows like USA.

This have me hope for the season. I mean, I'm done with moral victories but still.
-
I actually have a pretty good feeling tonight for the first time this year with NT basketball. So that means that we keep it within 20.

I still see y'all there, just being away from the Pit Crew has left it really quiet. Y'all are fantastic and bring back the Pit Crew, just by the band. I just wish we could bring back that taunting and heckling we used to have. I do heckle quite a bit, but there's like two who do it now. I won't be there on Saturday, though. I'm just so disappointed with the students right now. I think I'm going to go sit in the front row for the rest of the games and try to wake the Pit Crew up though! The guy with the green hair and headband is pretty good, but that's really all. A few rows, that's all that stands up or is loud anymore. Ugh.

Would have made all the difference. We end up 6-6.

Agreed, completely.
