RV definitely does, in fact, care. But just because he cares doesn't mean he makes good hires. I do think McCarney will be our answer for football, RV hired someone with real success elsewhere. He didn't do this with Benford. And this should be RV's end. Hopefully a new President will demand success from RV or move on. RV has been great for us, but we've moved on. He got us the stadium, got us to CUSA, hired Johnny Jones, got baseball going, basketball practice facility and Super Pit upgrades, and got us McCarney. Inversely, he hired Shanice, Benford, etc.

Stop making excuses. RV needs to be fired. Coaching hires pretty good? Are you HIGH? I'm so jaded. I don't even care.

I wouldn't say student apathy anymore. Only bad student turnout was USA. Students sold out their section versus TSU and ULL and our student section trumps many similar sized schools. Like UH, for example.

Likely FX and probably simulcast on TXA 21. If not FX, all the FSN channels.

Massive amount of students came to ULL.

I've said this before, but as of now NT is in a better position for future success than UH or SMU. We moved to CUSA at the perfect time. UH and SMU are going to be scraping the bottom with awful attendance and struggling to make ends meet...UH playing in Reliant against the likes of UConn...etc. This year MUST be our breakout or else people need to be fired. From top down. This is a massive opportunity to move up in the CFL world.

I think it's brilliant. Costume contests, trick or treating. If we're good, we'll have over 20K. Huge opportunity to get national recognition as we will be the only game on TV and it's not just a random Tuesday. Back to back years on TV. I like.

I don't think we even need a good QB to get 7 wins. We need an average one. One that won't toss the ball 20 yards over WRs heads into the stands when you need a TD. That was my "Derek Thompson play of infamy"

How does the Benford fiasco prove anything? What it proves to me is that RV went all in on a bold move, hiring a young high profile C7 assistant and flopped. If we fire Benford, many more seasons of 5 home games are ahead of us and God forbid Mac implodes we have no money to rid ourselves of him. Once again, we aren't UT. RV is probably on a short leash, but of all his misfires, he's made up for them in other ways. Our D was good enough to get us to 4-8 and showed off moments of brilliance with a piss poor QB and an absence of wide receivers. What's to make you think that we can't get to 6-6 with an immensely more talented QB and an easier schedule?

Y'all's negativity makes me not want to be a NT fan. Seriously. Good lord. The amount of anger towards our university on here is just mindboggling. Some of y'all think we're UT. My response? Think you can do it better? Get your ass in the AD office. Our merch is improving tremendously now that Nike is on board, I see plenty of good looking NT gear and now we have an off campus apparel store. What exactly do you expect? If we had a half decent football or basketball team to put on the field, thus helping stuff sell better we'd have plenty of better apparel. I have some sweet shirts that are unique to us and aren't generic from Nike. They're doing a fine job. And don't give me crap about 2001-2004. The SBC might as well have been FCS still and we played in Fouts. If we pull 18K after a decade, no, 100 years of terrible football and have plenty of cool Nike gear and good apparel sales now, we'll explode if, god forbid, we go 7-5 one freaking year. You guys are literally a beat down and it wouldn't surprise me if the anger and apathy on here cost us recruits. Whether you believe it or not, they read this stuff and this board already has a bad rap among fans. I don't care what you give yearly or how much you pay or what goodwill you spread or how much you talk up UNT, y'all's attitude is something of a vitriolic hatred and it is purely maddening. I've been on many boards and there's a difference between being so passionate you're harsh on your team/school and just being a-holes. Y'all are just being a-holes. BTW, the SOW is fantastic, it's catching on and everybody loves it. It is timeless and needs to be our logo permanently. Needs to be on our helmets as well. Not a generic interlocking NT.

I'd love NTSU stuff. But the rest of this post is a fail.
