  1. I love the SMU rivalry, I'm totally excited to bring this back. I've never really experienced it, but this is fantastic. We need a rival and I think this gives us the chance to build a rivalry with SMU. And, heck, we get an extra home game on the odd years.
  2. The poor attendance is worrying. Have people given up?
  3. All I remember from my first game at Fouts is "what a dump."
  4. I don't know why we can't get Tech.
  5. Because I remember in 2010 and 11, everyone said that the 12 schedule would change. And it didn't. Either way, three on-the-road games OOC is unacceptable. Why can't we get a KSU? Army and SMU is nice and all, but can't we get a big name school to help inflate that attendance? The SMU and Army series will, but lets get another. Oh, I can't wait to beat up SMU.
  6. So very embarrassing. NMSU is higher. A school as large as us has that small of a budget. Embarrassing. Eastern Michigan has a higher budget. E.M.U. A school that has never had success.
  7. Two money games? We don't need two money games. Due to CUSA, we shouldn't even need one What a joke. With a bit of alcohol in me, maybe I'll ask RV about 2015 tonight.
  8. Not sure if I have the balls to ask this tonight. Maybe if I get drunk.
  9. 5 home games in 2015? What the goddamn hell? Three away OOC games? Unacceptable. Are you kidding me? Two games at Iowa and no return game? That is like an FCS OOC schedule. How is that acceptable in the least bit? I'm disgusted. Shouldn't we be past this in CUSA? What the actual hell? I don't know what to say. Every other school can get return games. Maybe due to conference realignment we end up with 6 home games, but that Iowa series baffles me as does signing up another body bag game. Someone fire RV already before I just bail out.
  10. What a pretentious douchebag. Loved how he used MTSU because of their name. No disrespect my ass. What a tool. Aww, boohoo. You have to deal with MTSU wanting a fair playing field. Shouldn't be competing with you? What makes you so righteous? I wish MTSU would schedule up a series with the Bucks now.
  11. I just don't see how CUSA is a stronger conference than the Belch last year.
  12. Hoping that The Worm helmet does come to be. I'd be really disappointed if it didn't. Especially if we ended up doing the crappy Mean Joe era logo instead. I wouldn't mind the script NT either though. I'll be at the Fort Worth one, I'm planning on asking about apparel. I really want my flying worm shirt. I might ask if they are planning on doing it for the helmet, as well. I'll post how everything goes tomorrow night or Friday morning.
  13. Exactly. As much as Houston and Dallas love their baseball/basketball teams, both cities are incredibly devoted to their football teams. The only time people stopped showing up to Oiler games is once Bud announced he was moving the team. Houston has sold out every game since 2001 and is incredibly dedicated to the Texans. DFW and the Cowboys? Well, it's the Cowboys. They'd sell out for fifty years straight even if they had fifty years of 0-16 football. UTSA's attendance is proof that football is king. San Antonio is so desperate for football that they'll support a third rate community college.
  14. What's promising about this is that the Georgia game will be televised on the SEC network, we'll probably have a few on ESPN3 and TXA will take 2 home games. Wow. Possibly looking at all our games being televised...and not on the Ocho except for a few games. The benefits of CUSA are gigantic. Go Mean Green! Thank god we got out of the Belch. I don't care that many Belt teams followed us, look at all the TV games...I never imagined this many UNT games on...and to think, we were spazzing out over ONE nationally televised game. We have to win this year. We can burst on the scene BIG.
  15. Oh, yeah, this place is totally a "baseball town". And the Dome in its current state isn't top 5...more like bottom 5...ever. It filled you with wonder like no other place even as late as the early 2000s when I used to go to the Rodeo there, however. That ceiling. It is just a beautiful park, unlike any other...so, yes, sorry, I'd have to put the Ballpark underneath the Dome. Because in its heyday, the Dome was the 8th Wonder of the World. For a good three months, The Ballpark in Arlington is unbearable. It was idiotic to put the park in the middle of a concrete jungle area with no shade whatsoever.
  16. Man, I went to a NCLS game...they pumped in the bee noise and everyone was screaming, it was outrageous. But, how do you not love the Dome? Sure, it's an eyesore now, but that place was just magical to me as a kid. I would stare in wonder at the roof and the enormity of it. The seats. The outdated entry signs. Just everything about the Dome was perfect. Glad to see some Astros fans here! The AL move is unbelievable.
  17. I love you guys. The negativity is draining but the drama keeps me coming back. Like a cancer.
  18. Concessions are awful. Fair. I honestly grew up with the Astrodome, we stopped going in the early 2000s, but we went to a few in the 04-06 era, but then we had season tickets to the Ballpark in Arlington. I've probably been to more Rangers game as of recent due to where we lived and where I live now than games at MMP. Fair criticisms would be gimmicky or over the top...I just don't see sterile or boring, that's why I'm confused.
  19. This was just a terrible, generalized review that doesn't consider the major thing...fan support. Houston Astros have a huge bandwagon fanbase. When we were good, I brought a huge Rangers fan to a game at MMP. He thought it was the best. But now, the Ballpark in Arlington is better because of the fans. Personally, I think MMP is a way better ballpark; feels smaller, more intimate, more unique, and way better in a sold out environment. I dislike the Ballpark in Arlington being outside immensely and it just feels massive and sterile; not to mention the summer heat. Which ballpark/game would I prefer to visit now? The Ballpark. Rangers are good, fans are good (for now), just, a great experience overall. I have a lot of fantastic memories at MMP and I think it's a better park by far, but really only when we're winning; it feels like an empty hangar when there is no one there. Either way, I think you made a rash generalization based on attendance and team performance regarding Minute Maid Park. It's definitely one of the better "new" ballparks. To be honest, this review is totally expected; as Rangers fans do anything they can to trash the Astros despite them being relevant while the Rangers were irrelevant...for about 40 years. So, whatever. But, seriously, generic? I find that hilarious, because just about nobody finds it "generic". Train is because it was built on a railroad station, and there are oranges in the back for Minute Maid. Name me other parks with a hill in outer field, a scoreboard as massive as ours, the huge window, our view out the window, Union Station, the flagpole, the visitor bullpen, the Crawford boxes...etc etc. Go to a game, like, opening day or whenever we're good and I can guarantee you that your opinion will be different. I've been to about 20 different ballparks, and Minute Maid is top 5. 1. Fenway 2. PNC 3. Pacific Bell (or whatever the Giants stadium is called) 4. Wrigley (current condition is embarrassing) 5. MMP 6. Kaufman Stadium 7. Jacobs Field 8. The Astrodome 9. Dodger Stadium 10. Ballpark in Arlington 11. Old Yankee 12. Turner Field (I know many don't like it, I found it impressive) 13. Marlins Park 14. Comerica Park 15. Nationals Park 16. Camden Yards (new) 17. New Yankee Stadium 18. Citi Field 19. Tiger Stadium 20. Safeco (wtf this stadium sucks.)
  20. Heading all the way out to my hometown of Katy? Intriguing.
  21. Between Jim Jim and this...it's embarrassing. Cut him loose.
  22. Dude, why be a jerk? Arkstfan is a really cool poster.
  23. Heading out to see Brave Combo tonight. Never seen them before. Not a real Dentonite, I know. LOL. Gonna fix that tonight.
  24. Should've never fired Tippett, and that did him in. Tippett did the best he could with a bunch of dudes past their prime. I'm glad to see Joe go.
