  1. Exactly! Loved Emmitt's response about going to a community college instead. How I feel. I just don't understand why everyone can't support the university.
  2. Agreed, I just feel like a good amount of people who attended from the 80s-00s are awful alums and try to pretend that UNT is some small, secret university for the arts in Connecticut. Please don't take offense anyone, just think there's a larger group there who are that way because UNT was a joke spirit wise back then and was uber-cheap.
  3. Seriously, makes me have misgivings about UNT. But it's mainly our older alumni. No offense to this board because y'all got us this far, but our older alumni are just terrible.
  4. I'd make a comment but I don't want to get shot.
  5. I'm on mobile, or I would. It's the picture of the wrecking ball hitting Fouts with the statement of "Fouts will never be the same" or something similar.
  6. Don't check UNT's Facebook page in regards to Fouts Field demo if you have anything sharp nearby. We've really got to fix it. Read some of the comments.
  7. Ironically, TDS is also the acronym from the Nine Inch Nails album The Downward Spiral.
  8. Can't even listen to 97.1 anymore during the afternoon because all I ever hear is Russ Martin laughing.
  9. You're probably right. I want my flying worm T-shirt.
  10. Agreed. Our roster is stacked. The only variable is QB, though. Weak at DT as well, but not too worried about that.
  11. My problem is, is that I feel like we're a CFL team trying to win the Super Bowl.
  12. Tired of hearing about the past. You sound like a Cowboys fan, but in all actuality it's like being a Browns fan. Pounding your chest about the 60s. Here and now. Put up or shut up, NT. I'm an Astros fan. And a Texans fan. I remember 2-14 well. The Rosencopter. Pujols' Shot Heard around the World. Also a Browns fan. The Drive...etc. Stuck through these terrible years because I see a future. Another 4-8 season says to me "We have no future." If we start losing again early I might stop going completely halfway through the season. Call me a bandwagoner. I don't care. Results. Bring 'em.
  13. I love that they called us a mediocre school, considering we are a better school, too... Still can't believe we've lowered ourselves to starting a rivalry with UTSA.
  14. Completely separate. Personally though, I think due to the size and vicinity of the campus as well as the connection to new university styles/the law school, etc will have a huge impact on is. And to raise our perception, as well. If UNTD becomes a great, small, unique school...it'll only help is overall.
  15. I just want to see progress. See that our administration cares enough to push us over the top. Our budget in addition to everything else I said shows they don't. How the 4th largest school in Texas has such a low budget is beyond me.
  16. A loss shows we aren't committed to athletics. A loss shows that Apogee makes us a dressed up pig. Dodge's last year showed we have no commitment. Benford getting another year shows we have no commitment. If we lose to UTSA, then it's clear we have no commitment. Why should I commit if we don't? It's clear our administration thinks lowly of sports...it's all about overpriced student unions we don't need and buildings for bad academic programs...instead of buildings for things we're good at or need. If we lose to UTSA, there's no reason to be an active follower of NT football anymore. Admin doesn't want to win, or just doesn't care. Why would I, then? If we lost, Mac wouldn't get fired either...which is more proof. (To be clear, HUGE Mac fan. Hope he succeeds.) I'm not a fan who will jump off at any second, but the UTSA game is a benchmark showing me if we matter or not. A loss says we don't matter at the big sports and the administration is cool with that. Despite all the recent donations to athletics, stadiums, etc...if we are OK with getting passed up by a JuCo, then we should hang it up and alumni should stop donating to athletics and focus on academic donations solely. If we lose, I see no reason to keep rooting for us in football. Period. I see why our alumni end up so disconnected, honestly. It's not that we lose, it's that admin doesn't care. After Dickey, what do we do? Hire a high school coach, instead of a big name proven coach to push us over the top for monetary reasons. Or, wait until 20 years after Fouts' expiration date to do anything about it, resulting in us missing out on the first wave of realignment, which likely would have had us in a much better spot than we are now. Oh, and watching a school like a TC-freaking-U become the school of the metroplex in regards to football. Disgusting. Personally, I find it embarrassing that a school as large and as old as us are still hanging around the lower rung of college football as it is. That being said, we will win and win big in our breakout season.
  17. I'm going to just about quit on us if we lose to UTSA. Seriously. I'll just go all out NFL.
  18. I'm done with big time college football. It's a joke. It's semi pro, not entertaining and ruled by arrogant assholes. Real life college football is CUSA/MWC/AAC/SBC, etc.
  19. 22K seems right on the money. The season opener will draw a large crowd.
  20. He'll probably still wear them at the games, it's a trademark!
  21. I think he's the best back on the team by a wide margin.
