  1. Funny. I say the same thing about your posts. But yeah this is a lil'awkward. Crap, I accidentally gave you a -1, Eastwood. someone correct this.
  2. Well...to start...lived in Keller around 2006, heard nothing but good things about UNT back then. Everyone always talked about how it was the weird cool school and they had Todd Dodge as coach (a big deal.) When I moved to Houston, I kept wanting to go here to get away...funny part is, when we moved to Keller I remember wanting to move to Denton because I liked the name. I was an antisocial freshman my first year...then I joined organizations, made a lot of friends, and found my niche. I forever will love the low-key arrogance and pride people here have. We know we're better than everyone else, but we don't brag incessantly about it. It's pretty great. I went from one green shirt freshman year to about 20 now. Haha. My girlfriend followed me here, loves this place, and we plan to get married and become season ticket holders and boosters after we graduate. Couldn't imagine it any other way. Struggled at UNT to start, was only a kinda fan freshman year...then got into school, found friends, have been to every game since and bleed green since sophomore year. My family left me to go to Connecticut, and asked if I wanted to transfer...love UNT so much. Heading to grad school here in the Spring. Best decision of my life. I realized last year this was my place. I'm home on the library mall and in Denton. My dream is to be a professor here at UNT. It's my life. Call it pathetic, but this is my home and my home being the best damn higher learning institute in Texas is OK by me...hope I'm here for as long as my family life will allow me. There isn't a single person I wouldn't recommend this place to. There's something for everyone. That's what separates us from everyone else. Go Mean Green. I'll forever be thankful for this school.
  3. I work in Fort Worth and get tons of comments when I wear my UNT tie about that team up in Denton and old alums wearing NT gear. Nothing beat running into a fellow NT student in Danbury, Connecticut though. Can't beat trading the eagle claw in the great white north.
  4. Interesting that Alabama's student section is 17,000 and I'd say we've been in the 10-13K range all season.
  5. TCU is atrocious this year. And I think UH would only be favored by 5 or less. Tech probably double digits depending on the location obviously.
  6. Not a chance on TCU. UH and Tech maybe. But when you look at rankings not odds there's no excuse.
  7. But yet Tim McMahon still has us behind TCU, UH and Tech.
  8. There's not a lot of fast, smash mouth defenses left which, incidentally, play well against CFB's flavor of the month. They need to make Soza beat us if they want to have a chance.
  9. We need Ball State Derek to show up from here out.
  10. When Lee comes flying in and lays the wood the first time, they won't again.
  11. I'd be fine with our jerseys if we had the SOW on there. We were on ESPN just fine with the headline "Mighty Mean Green" with it on the helmet so there's no reason to spell out North Texas on it. People get it.
  12. Agreed. Similar score and style of game. I do think Soza will get hit hard early and get gun shy.
  13. All that we've done will be for naught if we lose to UTSA. I've already gotten made fun of at work for us *playing* UTSA even though we just got props for Rice. If we lose, I may have to quit. Will be the same thing for recruits.
  14. If Rice got crushed by us then ECU would curbstomp them, right? Just trying to be logical like Rice students.
  15. Can we just keep the SOW helmet at least, then?
  16. But then I realized this is the last time some of the Mean Green greats will be taking the field at home. Zach Orr, Brelan Chancellor, Marcus Trice, Derek Thompson (he's a fixture of this team and the leader despite opinions over his play), etc...this is their last home game. They're going to want to send this team out in style. I trust completely in the Mean Green. Maybe the first time this year I've been totally confident. Maybe that's a bad thing if you believe in juju. But for the first time ever, I'm completely confident we'll get it done. We need to all be there to show these guys their effort and dedication to our school is not unnoticed. (And I know there's a possibility of...things...but I won't talk about that now.)
  17. 26K last week care. Hopefully 30k this week care. Looks like they're in the minority now. They may speak louder, but the fact remains. I worry that they're only going to get louder and more opinionated now that the team is better and attracting fans because things are no longer going their way.
  18. How did a lot of these people get into college? They look and act like fools on this Facebook thread. Slacktivism at its finest.
  19. LMFAO!! Totally agree. Although the thing barely gets used anymore because the auditorium room is used for classes now. I haven't heard it played once this year.
  20. The Auditorium renovations are finished. Still a condemned basement. Still has doors that don't close (but we're green). Still has occupancy issues. Still isn't up to fire code. Top two floors are still stuck with broken faucets, missing tiles, beehives, tearing wallpaper, broken doors, no airflow, etc. The auditorium was gutted because of Union renovations. It is the new Lyceum. Not because it needed it.
  21. Apparently you've never been in the auditorium building. There's an entire basement that is closed off due to mold and disrepair. It is condemned. The actual auditorium had barely functioning lights and asbestos...it was repaired under the Union plan since it is now used like the Lyceum. Take off the green colored glasses. We have problems. You should hear the issues the English staff have in that building. Should I post the essay I posted on the Facebook thread? Then will you understand there's a gigantic budget issue? Instead of fixing our academic buildings, administration stealthily passed a Union vote without consulting the students. To be fair, they let us decide how to pay for it. If you're not on campus every day working in these buildings experiencing the every day goings on, you really have no dog in this race. Just because a building was fine in the 80s doesn't mean it is now. I'm in the Auditorium building on a daily basis. This is something I'm extremely informed on and is a crusade of mine; I can back it up, so tread lightly in this argument. Done a lot of research into this.
  22. Weather Underground says 0%. They're the most accurate. They've been right all year long for games.
  23. I think what's more concerning is that we're spending millions on a terrible marketing campaign.
  24. Agreed. It's very alarming. But you've got to educate people in a well-meaning way because we all want the some thing, there's just a lot of misguided people with uninformed opinions over funding. This budget decision is a huge red flag. Also @ adman: the Music and Art buildings are on the plan but nothing has happened. The temporary buildings are not for them and are very poorly built anyway. You can read stories about how terribly they were thrown up. We half assed that, too.
  25. The Auditorium building is decrepit. There is a condemned basement that is shut off. The Art building is falling apart. The AC doesn't work in half of the music buildings. One of the Biology buildings is falling apart. Off the top of my head.
