Goree isn't going anywhere, haha. He did seem annoyed that UNT fans were even entertaining the idea he'd flop.

Sun Belt Finishes 1st (in non-AQ revenue)

Yup. The sun belch will be much weaker in 2014. -
Exactly. It's all about the money for the HoD and I'm not sure there is another team that would travel to that bowl as well as we would. No chance a 6 win bowl eligible UNT doesn't get the HoD knocking.

No I understand, but what I'm saying is plenty of other schools host cheerleader conventions and graduations with under 10,000. If we are not going to reduce capacity, then the stadium just needs a massive scale renovation UTEP, for example, has the Don Haskins Center which seats 12,000 but is the only major arena in El Paso. Just sold out a NIN concert and often concerts and conventions go there. That makes sense. 10,000, in my mind, doesn't; especially when UTA and SMU are the one hosting events that make money besides cheerleader conventions.

Updated UNT FB 2014 Recruiting Commitment Listing

7 3-stars. That's all anyone needs to know. -
You are the most sad of a sad fanbase, then. You have an incredibly limited knowledge of basketball and that's saying something that I'm calling you out. Players and coach did everything they could? Are you insane? We would be celebrating a W if that were true.
-
You do realize that proportionally us having a 10K arena is the equivalent of a 50,000 seat stadium, right? But nice non-argument. Super Pit needs less seats. There's no reason for us to have a stadium larger than just about every mid major except for like UTEP. I don't see us hosting concerts or conventions either. Easily could have suites, LED boards, etc in the spot of the empty bowl.
-
What exactly do you think a coach does? This game hurts. This is just a death flop. Excellent crowd, close game, lots of kids and we fall in ridiculous fashion. Yet again.
-
Frustrating. Nearly popped a blood vessel. Gonna be an up and down season, which is maddening because we have so much talent. Benford needs to go. He's learning on the job...and this game was just symbolic of his struggles...doubt we'll ever do much better.
-
Dude.

Well then I take back my comment if I'm wrong. I'd be surprised to hear we've filled it. I'm of the belief that there's more importance in creating demand, such as we did with Apogee. I don't like how empty it looks even for well attended games. Just my opinion. I also like the suites idea as well.
-
With the current 10K capacity? I'd be surprised.
-
We've never filled the Super Pit. Ever. Moody has 7,000. That's more than enough. There's no reason to have a 10,000 seat arena. It's larger than most of our peers arenas, even.
-
The Super Pit just overall needs a massive renovation. Like, really massive. Get rid of the upper bowl, drop seating capacity to 6,500, make it look better on the exterior, redo the entire lighting, add LED boards...just modernize the damn thing. It's just so outdated. It's too freaking big, too outdated and too dark.

We need some spotlights, a dramatic intro, lighting changes, etc. We need a lot more, the presentation aspect of the games is sorely lacking.

Rivals and Scout? Is this 2006? We have an excellent class this year according to 24/7 and ESPN. Better class than UTSA, UTEP, Texas State, LATech, I could go on... -
This, exactly. I'm still not a huge believer but the guy came over, gave us high-gives and thanked us. He's learning on the job. Shouldn't have happened...but it is what it is. I think Benford can get it turned around, now. He's trying to figure it out and I think he's done a fine job so far. Team is much improved. That A&M win was big. They're a good team. This was also a good win for RPI. This is just a Johnny Jones type season so far.

I live on campus? I go to most of the games? I run #FillApogee and started #hit30k for the football team? I help with UNT AD marketing?
-
Thanks! I'm trying. We plan to be back & just as rowdy for MTSU. Rawlins came over and was asking us to keep up the volume. We just need to get all the students in on it. Glad to see some signs come back, too. Like the brick one, for example.
-
Should be a good student turnout! Suit crew is coming back! Favorite chant of the night was either USA or University Almost Bama. Can't decide.
-
For once, I agree. I'm gonna go all out the next two days and try to get a big crowd at the Pit. We shall see. Student turnout was incredible, but that's cos they gave away free shirts. The time+opponent+honoring the football team+trophy pics should help the crowd.
-
I'm starting to think the tough recent losses have just been breaking that losing habit (ala football team) this was an impressive win. Should help our RPI considerably.
-
I have no idea what to make of this team. Pit Crew was old school! See everyone Saturday.
