  1. If the shoe fits... Anyway, yes, I tend to agree with you. That's why I went and did my own marketing last year. Kind of absurd I had to do so. It makes us look small time that you can get gear from pretty much any school except ours in the metroplex. Like, in Atlanta, the local sports gear store at the mall carries Georgia Southern gear. A lot. Georgia Southern is at a lower level than us and we have better attendance, are a bigger school and more history. Funnily enough though, at this store, we saw a NT keychain. Anyway... But we don't have anything similar. Really sickening. It makes us look small time and the marketing department doesn't seem to care that much. I guess if we keep winning there will be more and more demand. But still, just quite annoying.
  2. Hope the team doesn't share your train of thought.
  3. Class size. All that judges your ranking is how many stars you have.
  4. I'm of the belief that this is solely UNT's fault and not our popularity. People want to buy our stuff. But it's not there for them to. Now having said that, in north DFW and Denton at most of the sporting stores I see about the same amount of stuff as UT or A&M. Which is sad but it is what it is considering that we have to fight the branding department. But there is the occasional store like Target, Walmart and Lids in GT that have a decent NT selection. In fact their NT selection is bigger than any other school by a massive margin. It's all cheap stuff though. It's ridiculous and something needs to be done. Doesn't help our recruiting out when you can't go to a Sports Authority and buy a nice NT hat. It's frustrating that you can buy nice stuff now at the bookstore, Voertman's and Barefoot but that's about it. I do think they have loosened up a little, because there is more of a presence, BN has some excellent apparel and hats, and Voertman's has cool like "knock-off" shirts, essentially, under the new management. We need more "loosening." Hurts us more than helps us
  5. Class ratings are judged on how many total stars you have. We have a small class. Smaller than most. Thus less stars. We have the 2nd most 3-star recruits in CUSA. Mac has improved the recruiting trail.
  6. What? This shirt idea is weak. It's pathetic and makes us look like the game really meant anything.
  7. I think our home attendance will still be 25K. SMU, Louisiana Tech, and Southern Miss could all very well be sellouts or close. I'm expecting SRO for SMU. I mean, as long as we can get more than 25K at each game that's successful for us. I'll only be heading to Austin if we can get cheaper student tickets and a bus there. Not paying $100 for a ticket then $80 round trip for gas. Going to Rice and UTSA either way, however. If we beat UT, Denton will be nuts for the SMU game.
  8. Yet you continue to beat your chest over them. So what exactly is your point by still talking about them incessantly? Anger management pill? Lmfao. Is there such a thing? Is that a downer? What a child. Just can't take criticism. That'll get you far.
  9. They already did. The black uniforms. I mean, on that design, you can't even tell if it's a 35 or an 85.
  10. So if you can't argue you just choose to insult? Any graphic designer, or hell, any person who has ever designed uniforms would describe your uniforms as busy. They don't adhere to branding either. Let's start, shall we? First off, the NT logo on the helmet is not licensed by the university thus cannot be used. Secondly, the jerseys appear to look like Pro Combat but are not. Thirdly, the North Texas writing across the chest is not our font and cannot be used. The numbers would be extremely hard to see from the stands and would not appear as TV friendly due to their sharp edges and lack of cut corners or at least curvature. The Texas on the sleeves is not part of our branding--so nope, can't use those either. The color scheme is nice, as is the color idea and the basic structure but the rest is unrealistic, ugly and too busy. So after you take out all the nonsense in your design you're left with the black uniforms. Which were clearly INSPIRED by the best parts of your design and left out all the awful parts. So, stripping it to the core, looks like years later, you still pimp your jerseys and don't bother with the fact that the AD pretty much used them but made them realistic. Because personally, I like the basic organization and design of your uniforms. The home, away and alternate are fine. You simply ruined it by making a cheap Oregon knock off that would make us look like Tech via the name, the ugly Texas patch, the generic NT alumni logo and the fonts. Everything else is fine. You don't accept criticism because a few people don't worship the uniform design you made. Not even sure you're using Kelly Green. Also, I don't have Illustrator, so I guess my hands are tied and not making up a better uniform. Sounds like one of those "YOU CANT CRITICIZE FOOTBALL IF YOU CANT PLAY" arguments to me.
  11. The one "floated around here" is a weird mockup that the AD took and made look professional for our black uniforms. We need a mean looking but traditional all green Pro Combat jersey with different shades of green. If high schools have Pro Combat, no excuse we don't. Feel like the SOW is on the helmet 100% though. But realistically, I think uniforms stay the same with a SOW helmet. I just hate that ugly stripe thing on the pants. Looks terrible. Traditional unis with that weird design...makes no sense.
  12. Should be a nice opportunity to get huge crowd numbers, the first 4 opponents are well known names...the last two not so much. If we're good or fighting for a spot, it won't matter much though. I like the schedule. Probably gonna go to the Rice & SA games. Not going to Austin, tickets are exorbitant.
  13. When I graduate from grad school, first thing I'll be doing is joining the MGC!
  14. Fair enough. Still, unacceptable in my opinion to see Texas State pass us up in endowment.
  15. Our business program is highly rated and overflowing with dollars and famous alum...oh wait. Texas State's endowment just passed us up. I'm sorry, I find it ridiculous that Texas State-San Marcos has a better rated business school and more endowment dollars than we do. If we had an amazing business school, doesn't seem like our endowment dollars would be a major problem. But they are and will keep us from getting Tier 1. UNT, unfortunately, realized Tier 1 was futile years ago when we needed $300 million in extra endowment dollars and another $30 in restricted research. If you don't agree that our business programs and "money-making" programs are underperforming, show me proof that I'm wrong.
  16. Our low endowment is mainly because all of the things we excel in are not exactly the "money-making" majors anyways. We're honestly a lot like a liberal art school.
  17. Our class is great with or without him. If the allure of playing in the Big 10 for a school that routinely has more away fans than home fans, then that's his prerogative. If he likes the toilet bowl uniforms, then more power to him. If it was an academic choice, then good luck in your future endeavors.
  18. Just pointing out the facts...both cities have similar pollution. Back to the topic at hand, everyone.
  19. They nearly have the same ozone pollution. The smog being worse in Houston is mostly BS. Meanwhile, Houston's smog is dropping drastically while DFW's has been raising dramatically ever since 2010. Neither city is very polluted in comparison, though in particle pollution. http://www.stateoftheair.org/2013/city-rankings/most-polluted-cities.html Denton is especially bad because all the extra pollution that goes up and drifts down right on top of us. Just saying.
  20. All of these places that have us lowly ranked is just because of our small class. This would be a highly ranked class had we been giving out the usual number of scholarships. 7 (9 if you combine people that are 3-stars on other sides) 3-stars is better than most CUSA schools. Also, in the past, we've had a lot of times in which we're the only FBS schools to offer scholarships...pretty much all of our recruits have major offers from tons of other schools including all the P5 teams we've beat this year on the trail. (A lot.) Excellent recruiting job.
  21. Our recruiting class is 100% quality this year. Wow! Keep in mind these 9 3-stars aren't including Willy Ivery and Tee Goree...both of which are 3-star talent.
  22. So are just stockpiling QBs? Wait, damn it. Thanks, Brett.
