  1. I was actually pretty popular when I was at UNT. I had a way with words (which is proven on here too, considering that I can get just about any of you to respond to me) I also still keep in touch with a few friends/ex-roommates that are still UNT students. I'm also planning on making a trip to Denton this spring to do the Fry Street crawl. Similar to what I did when I went to San Marcos this past fall to visit my buddy at Texas State. I SHOULD wear my UH gear when I make my return to Denton (whether it be when I visit in the spring or Grad school) but I'm probably not because I don't disrespect the school who's giving/gave me an education.
  2. Are you f***ing retarded? I used to go there (and may come back to Denton for my Masters), so I obviously never gotten a rejection letter. Before I defected from UNT, my screename was Eagle Green.
  3. Where do you want me to start?
  4. You people are way too easy to upset, you really take the fun out of it.
  5. The students will be at their Halloween parties instead of the game.
  6. Being an ex-UNT student, there is lot I can say but all I will say is that no good can come from this.
  7. Short term: Find out who the leader of this team is. We have a 7-way qb battle between Piland, Dausin, Kohlhausen, O'Korn, Cosh, Hines and Ward. Since the nBE will have an AQ bid this season, the goal is to win the conference and get to a BCS bid and/or go undefeated and have an outside shot at a MNC. A solid season will allow us to grow our fanbase even more so we can have 41-45k for opening day in 2014. Long term: Get into a P5 conference. Out of all of the non AQs suitable for P5 inclusion, according to ESPN insider, we are second only to BYU. Khator's leadership in combonation with a success product on the field along with a Top 5 market and whatnot. We will hopefully be included sometime in the future.
  8. Top 50 recruiting class, #1 out of non-AQ schools. (since we're not officially a Big East School until july) I love it, especially since all of this was done with a 5-7 record including a loss to Texas State. I can't wait to see what Levine can do recruiting-wise if we have another year like 2011.
  9. Let me share some wisdom with you guys. When a recruit commits, he commits to the coaching staff not the school. Hence why a bunch of recruits jump ship when a coach leaves a program.
  10. The excuses for McCarney continues...
  11. If McCarney does anything less than 6-6, he should be canned. It's that simple.
  12. Are you playing in a conference with an AQ bid? Didn't think so. Are you playing in a conference that have bowl tie-ins with other big boy schools (not counting the Liberty Bowl which takes whoever draws the shortest straw between a 6-6 big 12 or a 6-6 SEC team?) Didn't think so. Are you able to defeat any former SWC school? Didn't think so. Know your role. If us or SMU really wanted to be associated with the likes of you, we would have stayed in the Sun Belt 2.0 CUSA. Don't come at me looking for trouble. I have kept my nose clean for the last few months plus it would be a fight you have absolutely no chance of winning.
  13. Actually...we're the 3rd largest with over 41,000...
  14. I'm looking forward to the 2013 season. Loserville fans have already come to our boards to talk smack and for some strange reason, West Virginia folks are doing the same.
  15. I wasn't really a fan of his coaching this past season, but Levine is an excellent recruiter. We had a Tight End flip his commitment form Arkansas to Houston which bumped our recruiting ranking up to 43. If I'm not mistaken we have the #1 recruiting class out of all non-AQ schools and will have more than 25 commits a'la SEC style.
  16. Kingsbury is a hell of a coach. I wish we would have promoted him at UH instead of promoting Levine but what's done is done. Now I'm going to play Devil's Advocate. If he did not fit the offense, he did not fit the offense. There are numerous schools out there for him to choose from, so it's not like his football career is over or anything. Mac has pulled some offers from kids, especially considering that for some of them, UNT was their only D1 offer. So does that mean his word can't be trusted either? Things like this happen all the time. You should think about it from a coach's perspective aside from a fan's.
  17. Apparently he's coming to Houston and will file an NCAA waiver to be immediately eligible. If true, Johnson, along with Minnesota transfer Barker in addition to our already solid receiving corps lead by 5-star recruit Greenberry will be nasty this upcoming season.
  18. The city of Houston loves its football.
  19. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=215&f=2804&t=11128736 ^This is the Coogs take on the idea of being in a regional conference that "makes sense" to the folks at GMG.
  20. I've been reading your posts for a while. You're in serious denial. WE ARE NOT COMiNG BACK TO CUSA! Especially with the likes of UTSA, Middle Tennesse, Florida Atlantic, Old Dominion and many other terrible schools polluting CUSA. Also for greenjoe who keeps stalking me, I am ex-UNT and I currently go to UH. So stop asking around the site like a creepy old man, especially considering that you're in your fifties at the youngest.
  21. Translation: I want to be in a conference with SMU and Houston.
  22. "Meatloaf is now crowloaf?" Good lord that is lame, just how dorky are you in real life? This is why I usually ignore your posts, you are horrible at smack talk. You or Kram (who actually doesn't like me because I said something about him being old or something like that once) try to come at me almost every time I post something even when it has absolutely nothing to do with flaming or trolling and you guys fail miserably doing so. ANYWAY, relating to the thread. This was a problem on the UH campus for quite a while until Khator and some UH professors started a campaign about 4 years ago called "Keep Houston Red". That and the recent success of the football team and the rise of 5-star recruit Danuel House leading the now 10-2 basketball team has cause the number of people wearing other school's shirts on campus has dropped dramatically. The ONLY person I've seen on campus wearing another school's shirt since I got here was some dude in the library wearing a Yale shirt. As far as how the Keep Houston Red campaign works, is that there is always a place where you can trade in other school's shirts and get a free UH t-shirt in return. The goal of that is to eliminate the excuse of "I don't have a UH shirt and can't afford one at the bookstore." This was also why they give out over 5000 t-shirts on game day as well. (Even though I have NEVER seen anybody wear another school's shirt at a UH football or basketball game unless they were the opposing team's fans) When we had our basketball game against Aggy at the beginning of the month, Keep Houston Red had an event where if you had an Aggy shirt, you can exchange for a UH shirt and a Popcorn voucher. Also what professors are doing now, is if you were to come into their class with another school's shirt on, they will make you turn it inside out and tell you to come by their office later on for a UH shirt. I think UNT needs a "Keep Denton Green" campaign similar to UH. An aggressive administration plus a winning football and/or basketball team will do wonders for school spirit and eliminating the other school's t-shirts on campus problem. When I was at UNT, I was annoyed at seeing people wear other school's crap on campus and even my roommate I had an apartment with wore Whorn gear around campus and we lived literally a five minute WALK from the Super Pit yet he refused to go to the UNT games and instead watched Whorn games on TV and always said "we" when referring to them. He didn't even know who Tony Mitchell was until I told him. Even then, he still wasn't interested. UNT really needs to reach out to students like him if they want to make this less of a problem. I know Villareal does it, but just hi, doing it is not enough.
  23. I like how that one guy told him to actually start winning games and it would be less of a problem.
  24. First of all: Second, I'm ex-UNT and currently attend UH.
