Foolish, foolish Jimmy boy, I almost choked on my meatloaf after reading your dribble. (Plus it's a good postworkout meal). First of all, we won't lose to UTSA, not now. Not ever. (You guys on the otherhand, are a different story but we'll see since we both play them this upcoming season. Though there probably wont be much of them left by the time you guys get to play them after us, Oklahoma State, Arizona and New Mexico are through with them) Also, you DO realize the AAC's conference champion gets sent to a BCS bowl? So in that sense, we are an AQ league. You call us a "crackhosue" and a "mosquito infested dump" yet we can get 32k+ to come and pack in the stadium. You can't even get 20k to come to a brand new stadium in a "nice" neighborhood next to one of the metroplex's most traveled freeways. You're out of your league here and if you want to keep this up, I have an inbox or you can come to the AACbbs, CUSAbbs or hell, even Coogfans. You tell us we don't jaw with UT, Tech and whatnot. Well, you better learn how to venture out of the sanctuary known as GMG. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159&f=4582&t=11552422 http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159&f=4582&t=11579628 ^Be careful, that's big boy territory and might be too rough for you. There are no post restrictions, no whining, no 2nd-grade jokes and no crying to the mods because mean old Cougar King is hurting your feelings. (like many on here do) Yet we have better recruits, more money, better academics (our graduates have degrees that matter like Law, Engineering, etc, not sissy art and music degrees), far superior fan support and overall more relevance than little ol' North Texas. So if we're Watauga then what does that say about that school in Denton?

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=215&f=2804&t=11613379&p=1 I'll just leave this here.... I would cry tears of joy if they put a Frenchy's in the new stadium.

I can't leave you guys alone for a couple of days without my name or UH being brought up. *cracks knuckles* Time to get to work then. I'm glad to see you guys like our new stadium, this is the same company that built Apogee so I assume our administration was impressed by the job they did in Denton and decided to hire them in Houston. I'm not sure who we're going to get to ope our stadium but word has it that may be a Big 12, PAC or SEC team. Leave the UNT attacking to the professionals. Since when did Napoleon Dynamite go to UNT?

Skyline All-American LB Anthony Wallace likely to enroll at UNT
Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Harry, this is a great pickup for UNT. We recruited him pretty hard out of HS and threw everything plus the kitchen sink to get him on campus but he was hellbent on playig in the PAC. (Not even the whorns could get him to visit). This is the highest profile player McCarney has ever brought in. Transfer or not, he's probably the most highly recruited player brought in by UNT in the last 25 years at least. If you guys can get him on the field this year, that will be a massive step up for your defense.- 35 replies

ODU Football Ups Revenue $2,000,000
Cougar King replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Cougar High? Really? For the 2012 entering class, the National Center for Education Statistics gives Top 25% and Top 75% SAT scores for college entering classes: UH English 490-600 Math 530-640 UNT English 480-600 Math 500-610 (not surprised, UNT is an arts school) Dividing those ranges by 2 and adding both together to get the average SAT: UH = 1133 UNT=1095 SAT averages for other large schools in Texas: Texas Tech= 1105 UT-Arlington = 1070 Texas St = 1045 UTSA = 1035 SAT averages for other Big 12 state schools: Iowa St = 1145 Oklahoma St = 1105 West Virginia = 1055 Kansas St = no data, but accepts 99% of applicants On another note, our applications for admission have skyrocketed since Khator came in January 2008. Applications grew by at least 13% for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 entering class. At the same time, our acceptance rate has plummeted from 79% in 2008 to 56% in 2012 So if we're a high school and your standards and admissions rates are higher than ours, then you must be a middle school. Nothing against UNT considering I used to go there and still am friends with current UNT students who I go visit in Denton from time to time, but I slap a lot of folks around here with facts because GMG is the cesspool of the UNT fanbase. Other than Harry, All About UNT and a handful of others (including Meangreener sometimes) that I actualy respect. The rest of you are the biggest group of losers I have ever seen in ANY college football fandom. If you are from another school and have a differeing opion, you're a troll. If you don't pump sunshine and you're a UNT fan, you're a troll. If you don't believe McCarney is the second coming of Christ, youre a troll. If you're skeptical of BB being a Johnny Football clone, you're a troll. If you call out the ridiculousness and hypocrisy of GMG, you're a troll. If you own a GMG poster, they post a meme or makes penis jokes. ^^GMG in a nutshell Everybody remembers my debut post here (which became an article) and how a few GMG posters initiated everything. It was at that moment, I made my face heel turn complete. (Look at the beginning of my post history if you want). -

Where do you live/family: Houston; single Degree/Year attended/graduated UNT: attended 2010-2012 (Though instead of going to UNT games in 2011, I visited friends at UH every home game weekend to watch the 12-0 run) Favorite NT Memory: Longboarding down the slopes on Maple Street, during the day. Hanging at R-Bar on Thursdays(Until it closed down and then switched to the party busses), Rockin Rodeo on Wednesdays, and hopping on the party busses and going into Downtown Dallas...I honestly don't have a single favorite memory. Favorite NT Sports Memory: OT basketball win over Tech back in 2010.

That will be me. My son has been fairly rebellious lately so please disregard him. You're making too much sense for most of these guys. We were in the SWC you dummy. Also, we moved to the AAC because we didn't and still do not want to be associated with any school that came from the sun freakin' belt. That being said, there are only 3 private schools in the AAC and all of them carry their own weight whether it's financially, decent football or a strong lineage. No you can not talk smack about anything. Plus you can tell that you have no idea about how realignment works since you're bringing up our 5-7 record. (one of those wins being us thrashing UNT at The Rob.) Rutgers and Maryland especially haven't been lighting up the field as of lately. It's about market, academics (in some cases), politics and lineage. Rutgers and Maryland have all 4. We have all four as well since we are in fact ranked in the Top 200 schools in the country and especially politics, which is honestly the main reason why we are on the shortlist. We currently have the 3rd most political power out of all Texas schools and have gotten a lot of funding not just through our donors but because of who we have sitting in the Texas Legislature. (For example, our new Student Union will be completed in January while UNT's is still in blueprint because they're having a hard time getting the approval from the State Legislature. Another example is the fact that we recently blocked A&M from getting a Law School.) So I highly suggest, you sit down and fo your homework because there's a reason First of all, you KNOW that is considered by most Coogs to be treason. Second, thank GOD you don't make the decisions for UH because not moving at all would have shown that we were content with sitting in a mediocre conference with schools like Marhsall (who has't done jack squat after moving to CUSA) FAU, FIU, UTSA, UNT and other low-tier FBS schools. I like how people on GMG are trying to tell UH what's best for UH when they don't even put half as much effort in telling UNT what's best for UNT. A hands-off administration (our president often comes to our student section esp during football games, takes pictures and everything), the heavy-handed control over the student section (a 15 page thead over something a spetty as cursing. REALLY?) , butchering its own fight song, lack of commitment to athletics (You guys have minimal athletic fees that narrowly passed through the student body) , lack of political and financial power are among many things UNT needs fixed.

Quite the contrary. While losing Sims hurts, running back is our 3rd deepest position after QB and WR. Sims missed a good chunk of the 2012 season and we had True Freshman Ryan Jackson and former Hurst Bell standout Kenneth Farrow, who according to this thread, many of you wanted, filled in for Sims with a 1-2 combo. Both of whom performed very well. Plus we brought in a few recruits at RB also. Such as Joseph Glenn http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Joseph-Glenn-130260;_ylt=AiFzMDdCRprATBW8t3ilK2hDPZB4 and Javin Webb http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Javin-Webb-144896;_ylt=AkHgb6ORdjepvPaujOQfQHFDPZB4 I groomed GMG to have UH in their subconscious and seeing a good handful of threads and discussions about UH on here which obviously weren't started by me shows that my plan was a success. I agree. He ran a new career record 210 yards and 2 tds. I remember everytime he touched the ball, it was a first down. Yeah, SIms has his degree and is eligible immediately.

Now, you should already know that UNT never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Here's what will appen in a nutshell: 1. UNT keeps the edited version of fight song 2. Students will gripe and complain to no avail 3. If what Meangreener said is true, then it will go up for a vote in SGA and make it go back to the extended version. 4. The admin will disregard the student vote and continue the edited version 5. An even bigger rift between student & alumni and student & UNT will occur. 6 Students will become alumni, leave Denton and never give UNT another thought 7. Repeat cycle Now tell me if what I said wasn't spot on. As much as a good number of you hate me, I have never said anything that wasn't true nor have I ever been wrong. (It may not be the way many of you want to hear it but still, I have been right about everything.) Even if the edited version is here to stay, there is a pretty decent way to handle this, but UNT is already grossly mishandling the situation and things don't appear to be looking up anytime soon. Inb4 why are you even here Inb4 generic meatloaf joke Inb4 somebody calls me CougarQueen Inb4 Emmitt tells me I failed out Inb4 Somebody flings anymore generic, unoriginal insults as opposed to trying to dispute my points (which doesn't happen because I do my homework) Inb4 somebody makes some kind of homework joke
-
I never thought I'd say this...but I'm with Meangreener on this one. Speaking of LSU, here is Exhibit B. That is LSU's version of Neck and as you see, they all chant Suck that Tiger $%#& $%#&! And most people love it. Here at UH we chant "Who we talkin bout? The m'fn COOUUGGAAAAARRRRSSS!" Eerybody loves it UT's altered fight song, my cousin is a longhorn and she goes on and on about how crazy the football games are because of all that goes on, though UT imo is kinda quiet for a 100k stadium. Nobody complains and is even chanted by the older folks. (Who I think actually started it) WVU burns couches when they win and we all know, most of the older folk on GMG would complain to the admin and try to force a burn ban in Denton. Small-time mindsets and the desire to "control" a student section that is SUPPOSED to be rowdy, inappropriate, rabid and obnoxious will be UNT's downfall and until you guys learn this, you will never have the culture or atmosphere many on here fantasize about.
-
Before I defected from UNT and my name was still Eagle Green, I used to love shouting m'fn at the end of the fight song whether we were at Fouts, in the Super Pit or just walking past the tower when the fight song would play at various times of the day. Or shall I bring up friday nights in Clark Park before Saturday's game ? Is it inappropriate? Sure. BUT It's something the current undergrads and young alumni take pride in, if you older alumns understood feel and sense of unity many students have while doing it, then maybe this would not be such an issue. I can honestly say that the current generation has more pride for UNT after being there for a few months-few years compared to some who have been around for 10. In the alma mater, keep in mind "North Texas?" WHO?" Was also a student insert. Are you guys going to cause a shitstorm about that too? After I defected and changed my name to Cougar King, the attitude regarding student inserts at UH and many other schools from what I've seen is a complete 180 from the attitude in Denton. Exhibit A That's called the Cougar Whomp. Instead of saying "Talkin' bout them cougars" Everybody says "M'fn cougars!" (which you can clearly hear in the video) and you know what, the old school either loves it (and even sings along!) or turns a blind eye to it because they understand that the younger generation is going to do their own thing. Sorry, but if we had the alumns like some (not all) of those on GMG, we wouldn't have our newest tradition that became official not too long ago. Our "WHOSE HOUSE" chant. The culture at UNT needs a serious faclift which thankfully is in the middle of the process transpiring and a few friends of mine in Denton have told me it has been a lot better. *Insert obligatory childish remark from Emmitt because he can never come up with an intellegent response, which I blame on inbreeding or a meatloaf joke fom UNT90 (which I have actually became quite fond of.)*

College football countdown | No. 119: Texas at San Antonio
Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Well, considering the fact it was 17-0 within the first 5 minutes of our game against you. (If Levine would've let us follow tradition and ran the score up, it would've easily been 60+) then by your logic (when it comes to idiots like you, I use that term very loosely) if we, a team you guys couldn't hang with, are going to have a dogfight with UTSA, then they're going to blow you out. I like how you keep accusing me of failing out yet you can't explain why I was able to transfer to UH, a school with higher admissions standards. Especially for certain colleges. I mean, I know you're not the brightest guy around but surely, you would have came up with an answer for that by now. -
College football countdown | No. 119: Texas at San Antonio
Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Adding onto this, I think the UTSA-UNT game is going to be a dogfight. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if UNT blows them out because there won't be much of UTSA left after New Mexico, Arizona, Okie Light, and we get through with them. Then they have to play through a handful of CUSA teams before they get to Denton. So it will be a real shame (and an automatic firing imo) if you guys lose to them. -
This actually has more legs on it than you think. I'm leading one of the discussions on this over at Coogfans (contrary to popular belief, I'm actually one of the higher rated posters over there) , so I'm pretty on top of the smoke that's been coming up. I'm not sure what I can and can't say for obvious reason, so I'll just explain in a nutshell. Fpr starrters, UT has lost great share of footing in Houston and East Texas to A&M and the SEC. Bringing us in returns a lot of Big 12 interest in the area. Next thing, there is a war in the state legislature between Perry and his cronies and UT lead by Powers. Don't forget that UH has the 3rd most political power in the legislature, so our alumns, politicians and financial backing are quite crucial to UT's cause so they want our help along with Tech's in order to put a formidable defense against Perry. UT's logic is having 3 of the largest schools in Texas (UT, Tech and UH) as Big 12 schools which in turn isolates A&M and punishes them athletically and politically. I can also tell you that talks have indeed been confirmed by our folks within Athletic Department. Ever heard the saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"? That's basically what's going on here. Also, we did have Pac 12 officials attend our final game at Robertson vs Tulane which increase The Big 12's interest in us as well, considering that they do not need another major conference in Texas and most certainly not the largest city either. We have also increased our basketball arena renovation spending by 10-15 million more dollars, so this may have been the reason for doing so. It is said that there were a handful of men in suits on campus today (presumably Big 12 officials) looking at our Student Union (which has been in the process of being rebuilt, remodeled and expanded which will be done and ready to open in January 2014. The reason we were able to receive the funding and green light to go through with this while UNT has not is because of our political power, something that your administration really needs to work on). We also have until June 30th, to announce our leave to another conference and bail without paying exit fees or be stuck with a $10 million exit fee. ANother thing the folks we have planted in the legislature has made our Tier I status clear (us, UT and A&M are the only ones with Tech closely behind) which has also satisfied the academic interests of The Big 12 as well. Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt. Nothing is set in stone yet but sat the same time, don't underestiate how deep our pockets really are and what connections we do have when the time comes to play politics. Let me know if you have any questions or you guys are welcome to read our discussion or the one on The Big 12's board http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=215&f=2804&t=11552764

Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Oh really? Below are all of the reruits we beat out multiple P5 schools for DESPITE going 5-7 with a loss to Texas State. We had the 48th best class in the country, which of course was the best in CUSA and the 2nd best in the AAC (Behind only Loserville) and better than multiple Big 12, B1G, Pac and ACC schools. So do some research before you try to knock our recruiting nor should you ever compare us to the likes of you. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Markeith-Ambles-137411;_ylt=AiMpI5jmCliuxwOjoXGljtBDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Demarcus-Ayers-137146;_ylt=ApHHKjbSgBz_C.AcANl89fNDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Tyus-Bowser-119362;_ylt=AnHERLCENmAA5XB35lNWG0JDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Donald-Gage-109919;_ylt=AiWGzrOfC0GC0iJ6HYZLrmtDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Joseph-Glenn-130260;_ylt=AqbRsWQqMSXaxOyOj8Jei1dDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-D%27Juan-Hines-141051;_ylt=AvbllWZNB.ROm01M8_KNm4hDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Chauntez-Jackson-125711;_ylt=AmzZmeMOssKnFaDoVWHyCt9DPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Kent-London-143136;_ylt=AqKKXt0IM_q3ZOTvVDks.vZDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-John-O%27Korn-116990;_ylt=AhM0IpyGpFV_.t.5PhAEOYhDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Damien-Parris-138601;_ylt=AkfZFzOTQBKUHxf2NEoDqRRDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Damien-Parris-138601;_ylt=AkfZFzOTQBKUHxf2NEoDqRRDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Ja%27Braylin-Thomas-124807;_ylt=AuZARLLHtPaVvLavqTdnOJhDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Josh-Thomas-118424;_ylt=AjiciKKI7hSuAihGmplUvqZDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Nick-Thurman-133004;_ylt=Al9FzxMbUBsSaT5ACyPR6xRDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Caleb-Tucker-116373;_ylt=AsQ.FsxZsVci2JRvpgVjRelDPZB4 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Markeith-Ambles-137411;_ylt=AiMpI5jmCliuxwOjoXGljtBDPZB4 I don't care to discuss personal details but I spelled it ut for meangreener, so I'll do the same for you. I didn't leave UNT because I was about to fail out (How in the hell would I get into UH if Im about to fail out). I left because my brother was deathly ill and I wanted to be closer to him and help my family out at the same time. I ignored most of the omments I have gotten on here but the fact that people keep spreading something that is clearly untrue really pisses me off to no end. We're just taking back what's ours. Says the school who has lost to everybody under the sun. Sorry you feel that way Harry. You're honestly one of the very few people I actually respect on GMG. If we blew you out by 3+ tds in back to back years, why would we be afraid of playing you again? Ask this question on Coogfans then. Maybe you'd have a chance to win that series. -
The next long term OOC contract should be with Houston
Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
No thank you. Me and most other Coogs do not care to play UNT at all to be truly honest since the games aren't even close as of recently and hurts our SOS. If a series is announced, then they better all be in Houston since I don't see why we have to even travel to Apogee for a 32k seat stadium unless you move the game to Jerryworld. I honestly don't see what we gain from playing UNT that we don't already get from playing SMU. If this was posted on Coogfans, the responses would be much harsher than anything I've ever posted. So those of you who aren't 12 year olds in 40-50 year old bodies, please take this as me being blunt instead of trolling. (which I'm honestly not in the mood for today) Also UNT90, very seldom do you see UH and Rice offer the same recruit. Most of our recruiting battles are actually with Big 12, Pac 12, SEC and occasionally a B1G/ACC school. -
Knowing UNT's track record, I wouldn't be surprised if the deconstruction crew gets the names mixed up and Apogee is demolished instead.

Apogee Stadium ranks #22 in home field advantage for Mid Majors
Cougar King replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
FIFY A Trash Heap that brought more people in one game than state of the art Apogee has ever brought in a lifetime. Too bad we tore it down and are building a bigger, more expensive and much better stadium with the same company that put Apogee together. Hell, if we had a football game in the empty lot where The Rob used to be, it would still bring more people than Apogee. -
Thinking about UNT’s DT situation heading forward
Cougar King replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Keep in mind they went up to Pedo valley and knocked off Penn State and made a decent run in the MAC before crushing ULM in a bowl game. The same ULM team that UNT couldn't keep up with. They bring back almost the entire eam iirc and you gotta understand that UNT does not have the depth at Defensive line to stop their power run or more specifically Beau Blankenship and Tyler Tettleton. Wise words from a wise man. -

A&M just another school spending whatever it can on stadium

So...after UNT finishes $78 million Apogee. TCU takes the spotlight by renovating Amon Carter then Baylor announces their new on-campus stadium and UH announces their new stadium using the same company who built Apogee with a cheap $115 million (not that I'm complaining) then Rice in a knee-jerk reaction, announces upcoming renovations to Rice Stadium. Now we have of course, whorn and aggy anouncing renovations of their own. Who's next? Tech?- 17 replies
