You can't make plays or yards after the catch with poorly under thrown ball and the QB inability to see the receiver quick enough. It's hard to make plays when by the time the QB sees you everyone else does as well

Lets face if the poor evaluation at QB position, the unwillingness to be innovative on offense. Hurt us. This is all on the coaches. This is what they get paid the big bucks to produce and they didn't deliver. We have talent on the field but if the coaches don't put the kids in a position to succeed we are doomed. Hence this season. Is Mac going to get innovative?? That is question I want answered. Stop talking a good game and utilize the talent you have and stop making excuses about "it's hard to recruit blah blah" w

No it didn't work we just had a great defense and special teams the offense was bad we were just winning on the other side of the ball.

Your right he didn't make brelen fumble but how many times does that happen. Compared to the poor passes, poor decisions, looking down the receivers. Vanilla play calling, very predictable offense.

It's not the offense. Receiver corp is one of the top in CUSA. Let's call it like it is. It's DT and poor play calling.

There is a lot of complaining about Thompson

It's hard for WR to make plays when the balls are not thrown in the vicinity to make catches. Balls are thrown late, thrown into double coverage when other WR are in single coverage and open. He accuracy, vision, and decisions is not good. To be honest I don't know what the other QB are like but we need to stop throwing downfield so much and go to a quick screen, slant, and bubble passes that is where he and the WR can be successful and that's what's worked. This takes a lot of bad decision making out of his hands and gives the opportunity to the WR or RB to get the yards after the catch. -
There was one play in the red zone of the Troy game I remember Carlos Harris open and the QB threw it to Delgado in double coverage. Not sure why he isn't on the field with chancellor at same time both look to be fast but we don't even keep our playmaker chancellor on the field much.

Sooo are we still against coach Mac's rush heavy offense?
TK70 replied to D-ry's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes I'm still against. It will not work in the CUSA. -
I agree they just need to adjust the offense to more 3 step drop quick passes mixed with the run and put the right athletes on the field to make plays regardless of there classification or who's been starting. Our defense is decent but tweaking the offense will make a big difference. I think we will see some positive changes on offense.

DT hardly check down to anyone else when he throws. He looks and throws to #10 even when he double covered.

Our offensive output tonight was impressive

1.we still run our offense like Lance is here. 2. We are to predictable. 3. Utilize more pass play that allow yards after the catch. Short throws. Our QB is not accurate long. 4. Get out of the 2 tight end offense go with more relievers. This offense we are in now will not survive in the CUSA. -
DRC Monday column: Lack of playmakers hurting UNT
TK70 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I concur. I have seen this kid open several times. One example was this last game in the red zone when DT threw the ball in double coverage and #9 was open across the middle. -

Article would be true for what he has to work with as far as the upper classmen, but until you have given guys a chance to contribute that's not a true fact. Class specification should be the order of choice when it comes to putting a product on the field if that's the case. In my opinion Jmerson should be the starting RB he provides you the extra yards and heart every time yet he does not start. Why? You have under classmen that have worked and shown they are ready to contribute, but are not given the chance yet. BC is definitely an impact player and player that plays with heart and determination, but from what I have seen we have not put all our weapons on the field at the same time to be effective, and DT has to quite looking at #10 like he's the only receiver on the field. He threw that one ball into double coverage when #9 was open across the middle for the first down and whatever yards after that, at least we would have lived to fight another series had he looked elsewhere.

Looking at the skilled position why don't we have #3 #22 and #9 on the field at the same time and spread the ball. With quick throws and getting yards after the catch. Passes out of the backfield. Give the freshman and the red shirt freshman an opportunity there your future and they can't do any worse. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=CXCMGhVEFTo&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DCXCMGhVEFTo

My thing is put the best product on the field you have athletes like jimmerson, Harris and the freshman kicker that can contribute more. Why aren't they given the opportunity. Put the best product on the field, this isn't high school where upper classmen take priority. Whenever you have an offense that tries 3 flea flicker plays in a game that's desperation. There has to be some changes in personnel. You can't do any worse. #23 on defense. The DB was getting beat all night and he was already 10 yards off the receiver, you can't tell me he's the best you have. If your QB arm isn't that good stick to 3 step drop and short throws. Play to your players strengths and stop playing like Lance is still here. Running the ball all the time. Get the ball out of DT hands quicker by calling for short precise throws instead of deep balls or situations that cause him to think a lot.

Bad decisions and play the best players!! Offense is so predictable.

I think we lack speed at the skilled position except for a few players. Some of the true freshman should get more of an opportunity to make an impact. We need to pass the ball more, and when we do we shouldn't look for the home run play. Short passes and more the chains. Why haven't we seen #3 Chancellor and #9 Harris on the field together? Both fast! Speed kills
