Transfers - More than most think
BillySee58 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
It’s not completely official but it sounds like the NCAA will have a rule passed by January or February allowing for players to not need to sit out a year the first time they transfer between D1 schools. It’s not official because the rule hasn’t been passed but I think coaches will operate under the presumption that it will be passed, given how much of a certainty it sounds like it is. -
Hosting MVSU 11/26 then At Arkansas 11/28. No clue which, if any, games from our original non-conference schedule will be still be played, but I doubt we are still playing Chicago State on 11/29 anymore.

Pro Football Focus Top 100 Draft Board
BillySee58 replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah I think all CUSA receivers are good benchmarks to compare with. Henderson was a couple inches taller, but it’s close. Darden keeps up the production and puts up Henderson-like combine numbers he’ll be in good shape. I think with Guyton it was hard to justify drafting a CUSA receiver who didn’t have a 1,000 yard receiving season. But had they pulled the trigger there, that’s a decision that would have paid off. -
Pro Football Focus Top 100 Draft Board

I think a good benchmark to look at for Jaelon is Richie James from MTSU a few years ago. James had similar ridiculous production at the CUSA level (1,300 yards as a freshman and 1,600 as a sophomore), he measured at 5’10”, and he ran a 4.48 at the combine. He was drafted in the 7th round. James was coming off a season where his injuries prevented him from equaling his previous production, so Darden’s stock should be higher, but I think he has to at least run under 4.5 or else he’s likely an UDFA. Get below that 4.48 that James got and he should be in good shape. -

Exactly. And if Denton were in the same position El Paso is in and we rejected that offer, I would be mad at us rejecting a game when our subsequent weeks are likely in jeopardy as well. Would much rather play the game away than hope that’s the only game the rest of the season for either team that gets cancelled for us to both make it up.

‘21 RB/DB Cade Stephenson - Kingfisher, OK

Pretty early for PWO offers -
It’s ridiculous for a lot of reasons. The idea that CUSA should give UNT a forfeit loss for not wanting to travel to a city that is pushing 100% hospital capacity being probably number 1. That’ll show everyone that we’re taking things seriously as a conference.

The statement from the president states that no players are in isolation. I think her point was meant to be that no players are quarantining due to contact tracing, but still seems to leave the door open that they are going out and about, even if they are strongly being encouraged to stay home as much as possible.

Flying into the city’s airport, staying at one of the city’s hotels.

They outdrew us by about 2K fans a game so there’s definitely a degree of self-ownage using the very unique “don’t they normally not have any fans at their games” joke.

Bean To Start - UTEP Week Depth Chart
BillySee58 replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Then not being on the depth chart might have more to do with them sort of playing their own positions that are not really on the team’s traditional depth chart/base defense look. -
