Not guys you want chucking the ball around 40 times a game, or trying to win you shoot outs, but guys who can hit deep balls and give you good enough play coupled with a good defense and run game. And we should have that run game. I feel alright knowing we at least have that at the QB position next year. All eyes shift to defense for the offseason, and fixing that mess.

Aune could at least be a decent backup. You’re capable of running your full offense with him, the question is just how effective will he be. First time since SMU that he really a solid rushing attack and it looked good. Hopefully Ogunmakin is either far improved or we get in a position where we don’t have to rely on him as much with other guys coming in, some younger guys getting better (Detraveon Brown), plus Shorter back. Defensively, it’s on Littrell to make the right call. Does Bowen deserve a chance to get a full offseason and spring, or do we just need to go a different direction? Is COVID really a legitimate excuse (probably)? Littrell needs to feel the heat to make the right call.

Exactly. We’ve seen him produce. But he can’t play like this if we want to do anything.

In the first half we were doing well with JJ Murray in, but not because Murray was in. Mccasland confuses the two from time to time.

Have to imagine we’re going to see some departures. Going into next season with around 20 scholarship offensive linemen, all of which will still have eligibility in 2022, is an over allocation of resources.

There was a 247 article on RB offers this summer and I believe he said they had already fallen out of contact by then. At this stage of the year, typically any high school kids we sign from here on out will be new offers. Rarely are we recruiting a kid for more than 4 months or so from when the offer was given unless there’s a commitment.

I think we have about 8 spots left. Probably will focus on giving most of those to P5 and JUCO transfers. Then in the spring we’ll probably look for some P5-caliber high school recruits who got left hanging without options in February, like Pickett last year. Also, I know I say this a lot but our class of 2020 freshmen will still be true freshmen next year.
