Confused what you mean by “is that really true though?” As for starters from the UTEP game, here’s the breakdown: 2017 HS - 6 2018 HS - 7 2018 JUCO - 1 2019 HS - 4 2019 JUCO - 1 2020 JUCO - 1 D1 Transfer - 1 Former walkon - 1 Pretty bad that we didn’t have a single 2016 redshirt senior starting.

Completely agree. Littrell needs to feel the heat, and understand that if he can’t fix his defensive hires it’s eventually going to be him who gets the pink slip. We’re bringing in the talent so the coaches don’t deserve that excuse going forward. It most definitely is, as it relates to the 2020 roster. Look at the recruiting rankings and offer lists from the classes that make up the upperclassmen on this roster (2016, 2017, and 2018). 2020 and 2021 recruits are not the reason we aren’t winning this season. And look at what we’re already getting from 2019 recruits like Simpson, Adaway, Murphy Twins, and a few others in just their redshirt freshmen/sophomore seasons. Our roster will be in much better shape when guys like that are the upperclassmen of the roster.

Completely agree. Gabriel Murphy had 4.5 sacks in 5 games. That’s a double-digit sack pace and it took him until game 5 to start seeing the field. He’s not the first case of us taking a while to get our best guys on the field either. That kind of stuff needs to stop, especially as we continue to have so much talent at the younger grade classifications. Even Alabama and Clemson play freshmen.

Yes, it is extremely critical that Littrell be successful here. Because even as well recruiting is going, he wasn’t doing well at the beginning. A big part of that was not having Walerius yet, and another was that we had not really started having the on-field success, but it would be extremely detrimental for our program to go back to the way things were in recruiting. He needs to get defense right, whether that’s with Bowen or without, but he has been successful here before and he is soon going to have more talent across the roster than he had back when we were winning 9 games.
-
Also, average rating was highest in this class. Just need to land home one more class like this and we’ll pretty much have P5 talent across all grades and position groups.

All time goes back to 2002. That’s how far back the Rivals recruiting database goes back, so that’s how far the composite ratings go back. That’s why I usually say “in the recruiting website era” instead.

No idea. They pretty much stopped including those because kids would abuse them and pretty much put whatever time they wanted. Sometimes you can see them on the profile but only if they’re verified at a camp that uses laser-timed 40s, like Nike. -
We see P5 offers from our commits every year. Usually it’s teams like Kansas, Purdue, Illinois, and other programs where there isn’t much to sell the kids on outside of the conference the team plays in. This year not only did we see a lot of P5 offers from our commits, we also saw offers from some of the biggest brands in college football. Almost always, this does not mean we went head to head with these programs and came out on top, but instead were able to strike after the player waited too long and saw those offers evaporate. But even then, we have never seen offer lists like this because even if a guy’s offer from USC, Texas, or LSU expires, there are a bunch of other top P5 programs waiting to scoop them up. This year it was us, multiple times. Starting to see talent end up in Denton like we haven’t seen since our move back up to FBS/1-A. Here they are: Caleb Johnson - OU, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Texas A&M, TCU, Tennessee Var’Keyes Gumms - Texas, LSU Gabe Blair - USC, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Syracuse Keith Jackson - Ole Miss, Tennessee Rayvon Crum - West Virginia, Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Kansas Zhighlil McMillan - Vanderbilt *Bryson Jackson (Offer List Out of High School) - TCU, Alabama, LSU, OU, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Penn State, Wisconsin, Arizona, Arkansas, Duke, K State, Louisville, Miami, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington State **Jacob Farrell (Offer List Out of High School) - OK State, TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas **Logan Wilson (Offer List Out of High School) - Kansas State, Iowa, Arizona, Kansas, Rutgers *JUCO Transfer, didn’t get to play season because it was moved to spring **FBS Transfer

Technically he is coming from ULM. Was at K-State in 2019 when he signed out of HS. https://247sports.com/player/logan-wilson-46040840/ -
He couldn’t shoot in high school either. Really not any deeper than that. At 5’11”, you just have to be able to shoot well if you’re going to have success. He is not particularly close to that at the moment.

Sounds like just a matter of time with Krum and Ward. Note that Ward’s tweet below was from earlier this morning. -

Two straight years we have signed a d-lineman from Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas -
This was a guy I was hoping we’d go after, but at least we got a different highly touted receiver from TCU’s 2018 class in Bryson Jackson.

It’s not the guy, JayD said in the other thread. Keep in mind he didn’t actually get to play for Blinn since the JUCO season got moved to spring, so no telling what his offer list would’ve looked like had they actually played this fall.
-
Jackson is making it hard to play him with the way he continues to shoot the ball.
