  1. We actually thought Cal opted out because the return game was supposed to be in 2022 and then suddenly it was off the schedule. The 2023 return game only showed up recently. Hopefully that means they intend to play the game, because the buyout is $1 mill. https://dentonrc.com/sports/football-unts-series-contract-with-cal-contains-significant-buyout/article_d8dbb7e3-a1de-561c-b104-b53f8e14d55b.html
  2. Game started yesterday, got delayed due to court conditions.
  3. Everyone gets an extra year. Remember from the article I posted for you? No one needs a redshirt this year. Their eligibilities are all frozen. Wise and Jackson need to worry about earning more playing time before they worry about Hamlet and Reese. I don’t think either have shown to be CUSA level rotation players to this point, and Mccasland’s rotation seem to agree.
  4. Team Gunnell, baby
  5. And Jackson’s ratings and offers were all as a receiver. Johnson’s big offers were mainly as a DB. I think Johnson is going to be terrific here, but I expect Jackson to be a top offensive weapon from the get go.
  6. How does this affect the young guys?
  7. Lmao I appreciate you fighting the good fight on this topic in the football thread
  8. Have you tried looking? I posted it back in here when it was announced. They can come back if they want. Can’t say for sure if they will. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/30116895/ncaa-grants-extra-year-eligibility-all-winter-sport-athletes%3fplatform=amp
  9. He should get another HC opportunity. He has developed tremendously with the times.
  10. I vote Tony Denton. People forget about him because he only coached us for one game (a 77-72 win against Portland on 11/24/2013), but he has the all-time highest winning percentage amongst Mean Green coaches in program history and deserves for his iconic look to be immortalized in the pit, at least for this year.
  11. O’Hara and Jack Abraham, who were the two leading CUSA passers heading into the season, both gone. Also, this photoshop job is hilariously bad
  12. https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/north-texas/
  13. He’s shooting 33% from the field, at 30% from three. Since that first game it has been ugly. He is 2/8 since that first game in 64 minutes of action. 6 points in 64 minutes is a liability on offense. Harsh, but that’s the truth. He has the 2nd worst advanced offensive ratings on the team and 3rd worst overall despite playing pretty well defensively. Murray might be earning time in the eyes of Mccasland, but so did Jahmiah Simmons for so long. Can he be effective in the floor against CUSA play? That’s what matters in the end.
  14. He was getting hit low when he threw it so he couldn’t fully step into it. It was a pretty impressive throw, all things considered.
  15. I don’t think transfers are beholden to the signing periods like recruits, even though they do count towards the signing class. I would expect us to try and bring some in for spring, and I don’t think it particularly matters when, just sometime between now and the semester starting.
  16. They are
  17. Nice 30-point win. Hope we can get that LSU game rescheduled but otherwise definitely ready to start seeing us play teams on our level
  18. We still are not good in transition, but we look a lot more willing to push the ball than we did last year. I like that.
  19. YouTube Stream again for tonight’s game
  20. We haven’t released anything about it and are full on scholarships at the moment so hard to see much of a path here before the offseason. Unless he tried walking on first.
  21. We signed Keith Jackson https://247sports.com/player/keith-jackson-46096600/
  22. Yup. LSU-Alexandria on December 22nd https://meangreensports.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule
  23. Yup Nah, I just didn’t understand which part of the post you were quoting it was that you were asking the question about. But definitely. We’ve seen multiple cases each of the past two seasons where young guys ended up being some of our best players but they started the season 3rd or lower on the depth chart for no reason other than seniority.
  24. He only made 11 threes his senior season at 21% from deep. That was a major red flag for a 5’11” guard.
