  1. Ooh boy. The NCAA is many things, but there is nothing progressive about them. They held onto players not being able to profit off of their likenesses until state legislation forced their hand. They were literally shutting down GoFundMe accounts setup by players to promote just, non-profit causes like sick family members and other charitable causes. As for the gap between G5 and P5, the only way to help that is to expand the CFP. Even within P5 the gap is widening between the teams you mentioned and the rest because the top recruits know where they have to choose to play in the CFP and Bowl Games don’t do much to drive recruit interest. NCAA has to expand to be more inclusive. Even the BCS had 8-10 teams, which created a lot of parity during that era.
  2. The current iteration of the Lakers have won 1 championship. The NBA has traditionally lacked parity, even before players moved much via free agency. From 1980-2005, 7 different teams took turns trading those 26 championships. In the last decade of the NBA we saw 7 different teams win those 10 championships. There is at least as much parity as there always has been. Guyton was not a Norte Dame transfer. We signed him out of Trinity Valley CC.
  3. In what way could you envision this killing college football?
  4. Roster spots available where? Just at the FBS level, D1 level, or all levels? Also has a lot to do with seniors getting an extra year while a new class of high school and JUCO players are being added on top.
  5. By my count, Wilson’s 10 touchdown season is the first in the NFL by a former North Texas player since Ron Shanklin in 1973.
  6. 10 touchdown season. Really impressive stuff.
  7. Bowen was such an uninspired hire considering we were supposed to be going all out and we were making him the highest paid assistant in CUSA.
  8. Marshall came back and beat La Tech 80-73. So 4 of the 5 conference matchups were split this weekend.
  9. I don’t think that was the case with Rose. He had the green light to shoot early in the shot clock even in the two seasons he was not effective. He just wasn’t hitting them.
  10. Yeah but, like you said, that was more towards the end and we didn’t look all that great in our first 8, which is how many we’ve played this time. I would be surprised if we were as good this year as we were last year, but not shocked. Hamlet isn’t playing anywhere near as well as he did towards the end of non-conference and in conference play. We get that guy back and we should be good.
  11. Maybe not but this is pretty much how we looked offensively on the road in non-conference play last year as well.
  12. We were 340th out of 353 division 1 teams in offensive pace last season. Here is what we’ve ranked in possessions per game since Mccasland was hired. 2020-2021 pace: 252nd out of 334 division 1 teams 2019-2020 pace: 340th out of 353 division 1 teams 2018-2019 pace: 257th out of 353 division 1 teams 2017-2018 pace: 161st out of 351 division 1 teams Mccasland wants to play it slow. We were one of the most efficient offenses in the nation last year, because we executed well in conference play but this is largely how we looked against the good teams we played in non-conference last year.
  13. It has prevented us from getting a single signature non-conference win in 4 seasons. It’s tough to beat good teams on the road, but much harder when we’re turning the ball over. 20 turnovers on the road against a good team is just too much to overcome.
  14. His offense works really well against competition CUSA level and below. Against better competition, working the clock so long looking for the perfect shot just results in more passes, which get stolen, and bad shots late in the shot clock because we’re passing up okay shots hoping we’ll get a better one but we don’t
  15. Jones on the line for a 1 and 1 down 8, chance to cut it to 6, misses, then they score 7 straight. Killer.
  16. Jackson is the only one who fits that bill on this team and you’re saying you want to see him more
  17. He wasn’t doing that in his opportunities this year. That’s why he’s not in the rotation
  18. That’s what Murray does, and he has been much more effective this year in that role. The numbers bare that out. Still a liability on offense either way though.
  19. Our starting POSTS have 7 turnovers. 4 for Simmons and 3 for Bell.
  20. Turnovers are getting out of control again
  21. He has shot great in 3 games. Awful in the rest.
  22. North Texas 19 - Loyola Chicago 22 Halftime Hamlet scoring with about 15 seconds left in the half ended an 8 minute scoreless streak for us.
  23. Yes, my bad
