Yeah someone posted that alignment previously and I saw where it came from. I didn’t see that alignment, even against 4 wide.

He is back to being listed as a receiver for the 2021 roster but that’s going to be interesting to follow. As a receiver he’s probably our 3rd outside receiver behind Simpson and Shorter (who is out for spring), and at CB we have more people but he was starting by the end of the year. Will be really interesting to see how Bennett evaluates everyone and who he wants at what position.

Someone else posted this alignment chart but that’s not what I’ve seen looking back at Baylor games. I think it will be more of a 4-2-5.

We have our first class of 2022 commit

As of now the only starters we have lost from last season are Ogunmakin, Darden, Cam Johnson, Makyle Sanders, and technically Bean. Ogunmakin was only starting because Shorter was out. So offensively we return basically 9 starters if you count Aune, our leading passer, and we still are set to return almost all of those guys again in 2022. That #1 offense in CUSA is going to be together for a while. Just need the defense to be average, and we definitely have pieces on that defense to make that happen.

I think he should definitely not get a pass for this season. That scholarship situation is all his to own up to. Plus, because everyone had their eligibility frozen throughout the 2021 season, sophomores are really upperclassmen in terms of how long they have been on campus, and even redshirt freshmen are entering their 3rd seasons of college football.

They might be on scholarship. They all definitely joined as walkons and there aren’t much verbal announcements of them receiving scholarships. If they are it doesn’t really change much for the roster scholarship situation as a whole.

Update below. I’m assuming our kicker, punter, and long snapper are all NOT on scholarship. Also not counting OSU transfer LB Carson Kropp and ULM transfer DB Logan Wilson towards the scholarship count. Yeah, exactly. They bumped Carroll out of the starting lineup, moved Gray from LG to RG, and moved Cole Brown from LT to LG all to insert Farrell in as the starting LT. The coaches clearly thought highly of him and had plans to have him on the field. Not to mention because Farrell played in the bowl game he has now exhausted his sit-out free transfer. If he goes to another D1 school he would have to sit out a season so I don’t think voluntarily transferring is in his best interest at this point.

Yeah, feels that way. Farrell played in the bowl game, which means that he utilized the one-time sit-out free transfer. So if he goes to another D1 school he will have to sit out a year. Seems like something went awry.

Just saw this as well. Farrell’s twitter account is locked (not sure if it was before). Would hurt to lose a guy who they thought highly enough of to start at Left Tackle the moment he became eligible heading into the bowl game. Also, SR RBs Nic Smith and Evan Johnson are gone, and SR DL Asher Frow is gone. All were fairly expected but we didn’t get transfer portal announcements from those guys so likely just graduating and moving on. Same for Deion Hair-Griffin, which we knew.
