  1. Not sure what you mean by “it’s a whip” but anyone wondering if this is Littrell’s Portland State definitely have some substance behind that claim.
  2. A new tradition we are starting is asking “is this going to be Coach Littrell’s Portland State?” every home game.
  3. Zero respect for our defense. Why should they respect us?
  4. This defense is filled with guys who are 3rd year starters/rotation players and have never at any point been good. And we keep trotting them out there, no matter how many highly-regarded recruits we sign.
  5. Coach Bloesch is feeding into the “o-line coach turned OC” stereotypes terribly. Terrible.
  6. Murphy twins have been colossal disappointments this season. Getting put on their back on pass rushes and committing penalties today.
  7. We’re letting at least one lineman through the line unblocked basically every play.
  8. Gonna go with Thomas Bell. I see him starting this year.
  9. Great recruiting, bad development.
  10. He was ”released” from the Guyer team yesterday.
  11. Deonte Simpson was kicked off the team officially yesterday and Vincent Paige is no longer committed now, presumably due to off-field allegations.
  12. Probably because of the last two weeks. Lost to MTSU and ODU took them to OT at Marshall. Pretty easy to see the room for optimism given those results.
  13. For sure, but in this case I think UNT might look at it through the same lens. Can’t afford to wait it out on a guy we’re still unsure of heading into year 7, with the pressure to appeal to conferences before the music stops and we aren’t in a chair.
  14. Thornton is no longer on the roster
  15. Even if that happened, I still worry about his ability to get us to the profile we need (from a re-alignment standpoint) in the amount of time we have to work with (seemingly not much).
  16. Sometimes you respond to my posts by making a point that has little or nothing to do with what I was saying and I can’t tell if you’re trying to refute my point or are just making a separate point altogether. No one here is making a contention that Seth is a better evaluator than Briles, and the opinions in here are who we should go with after Littrell. Not if we should keep Littrell. @El Paso Eaglewas making a contention that Sumlin had the benefit of getting better recruits than what he would likely have to work with here so I gave the analysis to show what level they were recruiting at vs what level we have been recruiting at to juxtapose the starting point of what he would inherit vs what he did inherit. It’s pretty similar.
  17. Then let’s look at the National ratings, not the individual star ratings. The 4 classes at Houston before Sumlin took over were ranked: • 2004 - 65th nationally • 2005 - 87th nationally • 2006 - 91st nationally • 2007 - 90th nationally So average of about 83rd nationally North Texas’ last 4 classes have been ranked • 2018 - 101st nationally • 2019 - 76th nationally • 2020 - 68th nationally • 2021 - 78th nationally Average of about 81st nationally So I would say the recruiting state that North Texas is in is generally very comparable to what Houston’s was when Sumlin took over.
  18. I’ll be charitable to Kendall, but as for Art, isn’t his stop at Mount Vernon a bad predictor of his ability to run a clean program? I had this conversation with @TheReal_jayDbut with Art Briles it’s not so much a matter of self righteousness that leads to the concern. I think it’s more of a question of risk bringing in someone who got his high school program in hot water for using ineligible players. That coming almost immediately in his first stint after getting Baylor in a giant legal mess that is not entirely over 6 years after the game he coached there.
  19. That’s why I like that he had great success at a G5 program in Houston, and built them up to a 13-win season before heading to A&M.
  20. A bounce back coach I’d be interested in is Kevin Sumlin. He recruits Texas extremely well and knows how to run a G5 program.
  21. Passion can’t be understated. Feels like Littrell has been on auto pilot since he turned down K-State and got the big raise.
  22. Yeah but that’s why I mentioned him pushing for 2nd team reps. Martin’s not the QB of the future like Drummond should be so I was hoping we’d hear of him pushing for some reps with huddle 2 in fall.
  23. I agree with all those points
