  1. Yeah he made a few. A few. 12-28 just isn't gonna cut it. Throwing it out of the end zone on a fourth down really made everyone mad.
  2. That might be giving him a lot of credit
  3. You have to give players a chance. Thompson has had his chance, he just isn't a gamer. Everyone got mad at me when I said he wasn't that good last week, but it was nothing special. Last week he did play good but it was all short passes, nothing an average quarterback couldn't do. As for Osborn, he at least needs a chance. Some players are gamers and you can only tell so much from practice. Who knows? Maybe if we give him a chance he lights it up or at least improves our offense a little. Nothing personal, I just don't see what DT has done to make his job one that can't be taken away.
  4. Matthew Romar would be huge too. He'd be able to contribute immediately.
  5. I agree. I wish I could see how things are going in practice but I haven't so I can't say how close or far he is from Delgado and Bynes.
  6. I don't see why they don't at least give him a chance. I don't think the statement size matters is true, because it definitely helps. If someone doesn't use their size as an advantage than it doesn't matter. Just like natural speed, height is a gift from God that can't be teached and if a player can use it properly and well round their game then it can be a big-time advantage.
  7. Yeah he used it last year.
  8. Which we can do now. Make them count that is. Getting quality d-lineman to come to UNT is easier said than done. Coach Mac is well on his way to changing that, but for now that is the truth.
  9. I like the size of our defensive ends from our 2012 class, and even more I like the fact that all three are getting the chance to redshirt. We definitely have room for some d-end and d-tackles in this class. Coach Mac really has built up the depth on this roster very well despite being low on scholarship players, which allows us to be picky with the rest of our scholarships for the 2013 class. Because of this depth look for quality over quantity with this class going forward.
  10. As pass heavy as they are their drives will be quick. Three incomplete passes and a punt takes up almost no time on the clock and three play scoring drives take up little time as well. Alternatively, as much as we run the ball we will eat up the clock. We aren't going to double the amount of offensive plays that they run, just the total amount of time they have the ball.
  11. http://www.goyotes.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/sdak-m-baskbl-sched.html Here is the 2012-2013 schedule... for the South Dakota Coyotes
  12. 35-27 for the good guys. Jimmerson has over 200 yards rushing and the team totals 330 rushing yards. We have the ball for 40 minutes because they are so pass heavy while we eat up the clock on the way to victory.
  13. I really hope we start recruiting this guy. I don't know what his deal is eligibility wise since he graduated high school in 2010 but is listed as a freshman on the Cisco team website. Could potentially be a 3 years to play 3 guy. He played at a Guyer so maybe coming back home is what he needs, but we really need to get some quality depth at defensive tackle.
  14. Watched him play my former teammates this past friday and did not overly impress me. Technique was nothing noteworthy but he does have D-1 size. Not a big loss in recruiting considering we have 4 lineman committed. We could really use some d-lineman, particularly on the interior and maybe another receiver.
  15. I agree. I grew up in Tennessee so a have watched a lot of SEC football in my days so I agree. One thing I have noticed is that LSU and Alabama use so many running backs for the simple reason that they have recruited so many studs and they all have the ability to contribute right away since they play running back. When they do have a stud, like Trent Richardson, they gave him the majority of the carries. I'd like to see 20-23 carries a game for jimmerson but still about 10-15 for Byrd so I wouldn't call for Jimmerson to be an every down back either.
  16. Our success this year at running the ball for sure is on the o-line, and Jimmerson has broken a ton of tackles! I am a former o-lineman myself and even played in high school next to one of our freshman o-lineman so I love seeing how well they are playing. We are even deeper at o-line with three scholarship freshman redshirting and one redshirting in Kirby who may earn a scholarship pretty soon here, and oh by the way commitments from four 6'5" incoming high school freshman. Coach Mac getting DEPTH across the board.
  17. I'm thinking that too, but I just wanted to include him to emphasize how many bodies we have that can contribute at running back. I have always liked jarvis and lewis better than tucker and rollins at running back so, while I love having them on the team, we definitely don't need them at running back as evidence by their position change/tbd position change.
  18. Now that Lewis is officially redshirting we now have three running backs redshirting, with Jamarcus Jarvis and Reggie Peagram, and one grayshirting in Andrew Tucker. Not to mention Antoinne Jimmerson really emerging as a redshirt freshman and Brandin Byrd still being a junior. We appear to be very deep at running back.
  19. Don't forget everyone, this team has just 11 scholarship seniors. This team is young and is only going to continue to improve as the season continues. Inexperienced teams make inexperienced mistakes. This has the look of our best team since 2004 and we will return almost completely intact going into our first C-USA season. I can't wait to see how we do in conference play since we know we can hang with anyone on the road and we play well at home.
  20. Yup, it's in the past. Good to see that he was in that film room correcting things. The eye in sky never lies, so when in doubt go see what all happened according to the tape. Like I've said, this game was a huge step forward and I can't wait to see how he builds off of this game. I know I've said that he lacks the ability to throw the deep ball and that is my honest opinion based on watching him play, but if he continues to be this accurate we will probably see Canales loosen the reins and open things up down field. I sincerely want DT to prove me wrong and will be rooting for him to do so, make no mistake about it.
  21. Agreed. I really wish we could play UH sooner rather than later. They look very vulnerable right now but they have time to get things together before we play them.
  22. I agree as well. What made the TSU performance so disappointing was that it was an FCS opponent that THE TEAM, receivers included so not just Derek, could not convert down-field passes. Very impressed with DT tonight and I feel confident with him going forward.
  23. You have to like our chances at home no matter who we are playing the rest of the way. Apogee really does create a home-field advantage for us and there is a buzz around campus, as evidenced by the turnout against Texas Southern. We've all been impressed with how we have played on the road, and because of that I like our chances in all of our road games the rest of the way.
  24. Perhaps so lol. The makings are definitely there.
