  1. I've thought about this as well, but we really need Loving at tight end IMO. Out tight end depth is good, but the rest of those guys are undersized on the line if scrimmage. Most of them are used more as fullbacks in this offense and I think that's where they belong.
  2. I'm thinking Darvin Kidsy. He has the speed to get separation and his route running was very impressive for high school, not to mention he had some good blocking on his highlights.
  3. Hit the nail on the head. Especially as many of these guys will be playing their first season of D1 basketball. Can these guys have marked improvement over the year? The players decide some of this on their own, obviously, but the coach obviously plays a huge role. Didn't see very much improvement over the year last year. That needs to change.
  4. Yeah he wants to run track in college. I don't blame him. He has the speed and talent to do both
  5. Also, Khalil Reese of De Soto is playing. 6'1" 300 lbs, could be a walk on O-lineman for us. Can never have too many De Soto players.
  6. Absolutely. Dee Paul was one of the most electric players in the state, regardless of classification. There's a reason he was offered by Tech, Ok St, and Tennessee.
  7. Yeah, on paper. We haven't seen Voss or Gaines yet so let's hold off on how good they are. Our team was awesome on paper last year and we all remember how that turned out.
  8. Basically, we've got some tough competition. Even with Zach and all the De Soto connections we are going to have to impress on the field if we have any shot. I have a feeling Nick gives us a chance to impress him with this football season.
  9. I would put TCU right up there for almost the same exact reasons.
  10. Where does this ok state hunch come from?
  11. Haha agreed. Just some friendly bragging. Oxymoron perhaps
  12. I like the way guys like Miller, Prior, and Tanner Smith can all play fullback for this offense as well. Having 85 scholarship players on a roster is nice. You at least have the bodies, you just need some to emerge from the pack and be productive. Looking for some pleasant surprises this year, no pun intended.
  13. We'll see when he gets here. You can only take the things that coaches tell recruits with a grain of salt. They're usually at least partly true, but in recruiting you aren't going to tell a tight end that he won't ever get the ball thrown to him if you hope for him to pick you over K-State. I think Loving starts for us so I imagine him getting around as many passes thrown to him as Power did, which was 14 catches last year and 16 the year before.
  14. I agree, but we aren't counting on him to do a whole lot for us in the passing game. Not saying he can't, just saying I wouldn't expect a lot of catches for Loving. Coop Jones and Marcus Smith are the more likely receiving threats at tight end. Should be a fun position to watch.
  15. This is the reason we have Darius Terrell at slot.
  16. That's what I'm thinking. To me, the weapons are in place for him. Gotta have a short leash on DT if he's struggling at the beginning of the year. Tired of all these excuses.
  17. Commitment ultimatum in June?
  18. I know I've come out as not the biggest fan of Byrd and DT, but I really do believe we will only win 3 or 4 games if those two don't improve from last year and we don't replace them. 105th in the nation in scoring is not going to cut it, so that means DT is going to have to be more accurate in the red zone and Byrd will have to run with his head up and get in the end zone (0 red-zone touchdowns against FBS opponents). Yeah I know our defense has work to do, but DT and Byrd wasted too much good blocking last year, both in the red zone and overall. They have to improve, our else we can't let them keep their jobs all year like they did last year.
  19. Ignore said troll(s)
  20. Ambles started for USC? Who told you that lie? He had one career catch for them.
  21. Now we have two true centers on our roster in Gaines and Coleman. It'll be interesting to see if either starts.
  22. Call me a homer, but I'm really excited about Syd Moore and Alex Lincoln this year. I'm thinking that Moore, Wallace, and Reinhardt will allow us to play Lincoln, and maybe Boutwell, on the outside more. I think Moore will be Freshman all conference and Lincoln will get at least some honorable mention for all conference. Come on guys, prove me right!
  23. Not bad. Offered by UCONN and Memphis in high school.
