  1. The guys lower than him haven't played a snap of D1 ball.
  2. Woah woah! Slow your roll chief. I love me some UNT girls, especially my girl, but TCU girls are gorgeous. I've seen them consistently ranked high up in lists of the hottest co-eds in the country.
  3. How do you know that BB would freak under the bright lights at Georgia? Experience is great, but to think that guys without experience are just automatically going to wet the bed is not fair. Every player is different. Some do thrive on the big stage and some wilt away, but it's not completely dependent on their experience. Mason Y'Barbo knocked Donta Hightower on his butt as a redshirt freshman at Bryant-Denny.
  4. See, at least you're a true troll. Cougar king only posts on here because he can't walk away taking the retaliation that comes from being a troll. He keeps posting acting like he has attained some level of respect as a rival poster. No one respects either of you, but that's not why you post on here.
  5. Phil Steele has Sam Rice starting at left guard.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see both qbs in the first half of the Idaho game, especially if Berglund does well in fall camp. As for the concern that Idaho makes DT look good while playing against a bad team, I urge you to see what happened last year against Texas Southern.
  7. You better believe I'd rather go 6-6 with DT. But personally I think Berglund's playmaking ability would make us better immediately, not just down the road. He might make a few more mental mistakes than DT would, but I think he would also make a few less mistakes than DT because of his athletic ability and arm strength. Sometimes DT made the right throws last year, but the throw would not be on target or it would get there too slow. I would agree with you that this is how the coaching staff has treated things the last two seasons that DT has been the starter. However, I think with Berglund in the fold now things might be a little different. This offense was changed for Berglund and I believe the coaches will give him a chance. We were 105th in the nation in scoring last year. We need to be able to make more plays, particularly in the red zone if we hope to win.
  8. I'm fine with a few overzealous mistakes early on. As long as Berglund is making plays and making our offense more dynamic, as well as showing improvement over the course of the year. Berglund has 3 years left. When DT was named the opening starter in 2011, he had 3 years of eligibility left. In that time he hasn't progressed enough and, as someone has said, it's hard to tell at times that he's the experienced guy with 20+ starts under his belt. I know we haven't seen much, but Berglund will make our offense more dynamic and hard to stop immediately. I'm fine with a few rookie mistakes but after having the 105th scoring offense in the country I think we need more playmaking ability.
  9. Absolutely. Leadership by example is crucial in sports, especially at a position like QB.
  10. Cyril Lemon is getting a lot of preseason hype. First-team on most magazines and he deserves it. Powerful strong side run blocker and man are we lucky to have him. There's a reason why schools like Missouri and Houston offered him.
  11. Moore played this year around 260 but he also is more naturally that big. Unfortunately for Boutwell, he's had to be basically force fed to hit the upper 260s. Moore can weigh 270 more naturally which is okay for a 3-technique. As for who else mans the nose guard position, which is more of a shade technique than a head up nose, I really think LaChris Anyiam is needed more there than at right tackle considering he started his career on defense. Mac moved him to right tackle because he believed that's where he belonged from Day 1. Manu and Trussell graded out pretty well in the spring game and I think they'd pick up the slack just fine at right tackle.
  12. Definitely, but he has D1 strength and speed already. He doesn't just have a good highlight film, but one in which you can tell he's on a completely different level than his competition. I'm not saying he'll be all-conference this year but if makes it in and we watch him play this year we won't be thinking that he should've redshirted.
  13. Moore is a player who we wouldn't be able to keep off the field last year either. He'll be ready to play on day 1 whether we needed him or not. JMO from what I've seen on film and looking at his stats.
  14. I completely agree. It's the final thing we need but also the most important thing. Something else that would come with winning is a buzz around campus. About 75% of our students would simply say "our football team sucks" if asked about our football team. Most probably couldn't name more than 3 or 4 players on the team. If we win and get a buzz going around campus then the football players would feel the love as big men on campus. Football players at schools like A&M, Texas, and TCU are treated as semi-celebrities (no not just Johnny Manziel). Whether you like athletes being on-campus celebrities, the recruits love that idea. I remember the morning after Jimmerson won the LaLa game on national TV with our play of the year, I saw him walk into the Union past plenty of students and none even acknowledged him. No "hey man, great play" or "way to go Jimmerson" statements. That's something that has to change and I hope will with more winning.
  15. Terrell was #15 at Texas. That's a possibility as well for who TE #87 is.
  16. Yeah a sophomore qb rated 79 is nice when starting a dynasty. Also, the demo is out now and it's free, 3 minute quarters and you can only play as 6 teams like always.
  17. If winning is the last thing holding us back then why would us having a good season and making a bowl game matter in our recruiting efforts to flip Nick Orr?
  18. Let's start winning so we can have a chance with these guys.
  19. Sometimes the depth chart does not always reflect who is rated the highest. I think Byrd will be the starter on the game, although Jimmerson is rated higher. Could be Jimmerson starting though.
  20. They've always rated him low. Hopefully he's right below at 75. Whitfield, Lemon, Y'Barbo, Antonio Johnson, and Derek Akunne should all be at least over 70 as well.
  21. http://www.operationsports.com/news/637737/ncaa-football-14-player-ratings-top-10-players-from-each-team/ For those gamers out there. Our top 10 players in this year's edition of NCAA Football are on this video around the 2:30 mark. Top 10 players for North Texas - MLB #35 (Zach Orr): 82 overall - DT #90 (Ryan Boutwell): 80 overall - HB #34 (Antoinne Jimmerson?): 79 overall - QB #4 (Brock Berglund?): 79 overall - LOLB #11 (Will Wright): 79 overall - DE #93 (Brandon McCoy): 79 overall - SS #6 (Hilbert Jackson?): 78 overall - HB #24 (Brandin Byrd): 78 overall - K #37 (Zach Olen): 77 overall - TE #87 (Chris Loving?): 76 overall A few interesting ratings. I'm trying to figure out who TE #87 is. Drew Miller is 86, but it still might be him. I doubt QB #4 is DT, but that is a possibility as well. Also HB #34 is probably Jimmerson especially since they had him as #32 last year.
