Go to their place next year and move the Denton game to 2023-2024 season I guess. Darn, was really looking forward to this one. Hope Wren and Mccasland can find someone else to play between now and the UMass game like they were able to last year with the last-minute West Virginia and Loyola games.

Ragsdale may not have the heart/will of Torrey, but during our win streak Ragsdale has run for 365 yards while Torrey has run for 361. Ragsdale has done it on 58 carries vs Torrey’s 84 carries. In Torrey’s defense he has been dealing with injury in the last 4 games but Ragsdale has just been more effective. He was recruited for this offense while Torrey was recruited for Harrell’s. I’ll be cool with whatever Torrey decides for the Bowl Game but if he plays I hope we motion him out wide for the scouts.

Has NT ever had a better sports week

According to KenPom, Drake was the second highest rated team we have beaten in the last 20 years. The other being Purdue. -
Hot take: Ikaika is a more effective runner than Torrey in our veer and shoot offense, where nearly every run is a dive.

DRC: UNT has eight named to PFF All-C-USA team

Dillion Williams plays corner back. Also, all of our DBs are listed on the roster as “DB.” Our roster listings don’t make the distinction between corner or safety, so not sure why you’re saying those guys are listed as safeties. -

The development has been really bad too. So many high-ranked HS recruits with impressive offer lists doing nothing on the field. Guys like Alex Morris, Jevin Murray, Upton Stout, Jaxon Gibbs, now Cinque Williams all leaving with eligibility to spare and almost all not living up to their HS recruit profiles. And not to mention Tavorice Weaver who looked to be better than his rating leaving mid-season after cracking the two-deep as a true freshman. Not sure how many HS spots we have to spare but we could really use a couple HS DBs, provided we actually develop them this time. -

Is it deep though? We had Makyle Sanders and Sean-Thomas Faulkner, who moved over from backing up Tyreke Davis at the Eagle position, as our safeties during our run. Sanders is out of eligibility and Faulkner probably goes back to Eagle with Davis leaving. Gaddie and Harold West at safety sounds decent to me but depth is concerning after that. -

Offers going out lately... Class of '23?
BillySee58 replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
For the 2021 season you are allowed to have 85 scholarship players who were not seniors in 2020 taking advantage of their extra season in 2021. I don’t know that such an exception is set to be allowed for 2022 or any subsequent years. -
Will miss our game with them this Saturday

Getting the confidence of finishing and closing out a good team is a big mental hurdle. I feel like our 19-20 team didn’t clear that hurdle until conference play.

Huge win. Drake was an 11-seed last year, returned all 5 starters, preseason pick to win the Missouri Valley Conference, and was 3-0 heading into this tournament. Not a cheap win just because we both lost our first two games.

Yeah I was much more disconcerted with some of our early season efforts last year knowing that we had 4 seniors and 1 junior starting, with all 4 seniors being key returners. This team has looked better early on than what I was honestly expecting. I’m going to expect we will grow from these losses until we see otherwise, because every other Mccasland team has grown in that way.
-
He doesn’t. I forgot to add his name in that list. Good lord you butcher Ousmane’s name every time. But yeah, everyone’s grade got rolled forward but they still get the extra year if they want when they eventually get there.
-
The team is going to win a lot of games this season. Also, take into account that due to COVID, a lot of these guys have even more eligibility than their class listing suggests. Ousmane and Jones, for example, are true freshman from an eligibility standpoint. Mccasland still has to get better with recruiting to truly take the next step. Jahmiah Simmons, JJ Murray, Bell, and Hameir Wright are the only players on our roster with no more eligibility remaining after this season. No reason we shouldn’t be getting players who are an upgrade, at least in the long run, from those guys.

Weird nickname for JJ Murray.

This has become somewhat common the last two seasons due to the extra COVID year where players have been participating in Senior Day but not necessarily committing one way or the other. Basically a “just in case this is it” Senior Day, for many. Can’t speak specifically to guys like Mose, Brammer, or Aune. Last week was senior day for a lot of the games across the country and there were multiple references to showing players who participated in Senior Day ceremonies last year and did so again this year after deciding to come back.

He has built a really good team out of a school that has only been playing football since 2009 and only at the FCS level for a few years before he got there, was 1-10 the year before he took over, has taken them to 2 playoff births in 4 seasons, and has brought in multiple quality QBs to lead productive offenses. He has built a really quality program and shown the ability to replace his good players and keep his system running efficiently. He just turned 36. He’s a rising star, and he’s going to be an FBS head coach soon whether it’s here or not.
-
Everyone talking about Carthel at SFA and Keeler at Sam Houston, if we went the FCS HC route I would rather go with Morris at Incarnate Word over both of them, at this point in time.

You said “I coached Dak Prescott” in your post that I was quoting.
