Absolutely. Williams definitely looks the part of a D1 qb, but we absolutely need that out of the other 3 and that may very well be what Mac is doing. However, any reps DW gets with the first or second team, he has earned it.

Translation: DT is not winning the qb battle, but rather is not losing it. While the other qbs haven't taken the job from DT, he hasn't done anything to separate himself from the pack either. Just like how we play to not lose the game with DT at qb (LaLa, WKU, South Alabama games), he's playing not to lose the qb spot rather then going out and grabbing it. Hopefully some qb takes the spot, rather than simply doesn't lose their spot.

How you feel about the term and whether it is misused or not is up to you. Original guy said 6 wins is magical. You took it as our fans have lowered expectations and think 6 wins is a magical season. I just offered you another perspective of what Big Dawg might've meant by magical 6 with my baseball reference. That's how I took it at least. Technically 6 wins is the magic number for bowl eligibility and you can't argue that, whether you think the term is being misused or not.

That's what I said, eligibility. I understand making a low-tier bowl game isn't as prestigious as winning a division with half of the American or national league in it, but that's a magic number. We all want more then that, but 6 wins would at least give us a chance.

Anyone on here is invested as a fan. Varying degrees of investment for sure, but we're all invested. I'm only speaking for myself for sure, but I feel others agree, I will go to all home games and cheer for whoever is at qb. I want to see the best product on the field possible and if that means someone else other than our redshirt senior at qb then that's what I want.

I think our play callers don't trust DT. He might start the Idaho game but if the coaches think we have someone who can put more points on the board then I don't think they'll hesitate.

I think this is the likely scenario also, but I just still think the coaches don't have any faith in DT. If they feel more confident in another qb then I think we see him. Don't forget, Mac said in the spring that he wouldn't be opposed to a qb rotation especially at the beginning of the year. Not a wildcat system, but a system where each qb gets a couple series to run the offense and see how they move the ball.

Exactly. Coach Mac himself talked about forcing more fumbles this year and those are the type of hitters who can do it.

Heat or no heat, he's starting his first game as a D1 qb on the road 2000 miles from home. We have an experienced secondary, so let's get a pass rush on this kid and force some interceptions.

We have the numbers, but we don't know if we have the quality after this year. Polk, Q Brown, and Darryl Mason are undersized pass rush specialists and the other ends haven't played. If we could move Lincoln outside he could be a 3-down end, but three of the guys I mentioned are juniors and Polk is a sophomore. Redshirt freshman Jarrian Roberts, Brad Horton, and Malik Dilonga will be interesting to keep up with this year. If the coaches think they can recruit over those guys then they probably will.

I think we're going to out-gain them significantly. I'm not so sure if we're going to outscore them significantly. We need to get the ball in the endzone plenty this game.

I agree that is too big for a center, but he didn't look anywhere close to 365. Maybe 330, but looking at him I was thinking he was between 315 and 325.

No I don't. I just think he has a little more speed than people give him credit and he got to the third level more than Byrd. I think Byrd has more top end speed than Jimmerson, but that's the only advantage I give him over Jimmerson. Byrd had the two most perfectly blocked up plays of the season in his long run against WKU and his long run against South Alabama. While they were blocked perfectly, I'm not sure if Jimmerson would've been caught or not.
