  1. It did. Huge play and great job by Zach! Nice to have some solid depth at corner
  2. Was starting to think you were a fortune teller Tim
  3. I've been accused of clinging onto Berglund and Trussell's respective jocks because someone didn't agree with me. Funny how personal people can get if they don't agree with your OPINION on sports. This season has a chance to be a special one. Anything that prevents it from being so is going to frustrate the fans who really do care and don't want to settle.
  4. No, not just you. I don't agree with you about everything, but I do think it's ridiculous why you're getting blasted. So would fast starts hurt our team because we wouldn't be able to "wear down the defense" by pounding our heads constantly into 8 and 9 man front early in the game? Especially on first down. We still only scored 21 offensive points yesterday. We have this outstanding line that received as good praise as you can get from an opposing player, some dynamic receivers including chancellor and smith, and some darn good backs. Just because we are beating teams that are vastly (yes, vastly) inferior doesn't mean we should be satisfied with being down 10-0 late in the second and only putting up 21 points from our offense. People keep saying "just win." Of course that's all that matters. But what results in an ugly, "just win" type win against La Tech could easily result in losses against teams like Rice and Tulsa. And for those who haven't seen those teams play, we should beat those teams, especially since Rice is a home game.
  5. Every time it doesn't work on mobile version. I go to the bottom left of the page and have to click full version for the link to work.
  6. Exactly. Just because we are capable of getting out of these holes we are digging ourselves in doesn't mean we should keep doing it. Rice, and even Tulsa are games that it will probably be pretty tough to get ourselves out of a big hole, should we dig one.
  7. Kind of hard to tell since A Johnson was being redshirted his freshman year. Really wish Abbe had been redshirted so we could have him for next year. He played o-line in high school so that year he could've really used a redshirt year while he was cutting weight and learning how to play defensive line. But, Todd Dodge was in desperation mode so he needed Abbe.
  8. Ohio improved to 5-2 today and Ball State improved to 7-1. They have to just be kicking themselves that they lost to us. Also, Georgia dropped their second straight game. Not a great season for those guys. Saw someone compare our loss to Tulane and Ball State's loss to us. Big difference IMO. We outgained Tulane by over 130 yards, while Ball State was not able to outgain us (we outgained them by about 10 yards). Regardless, our tough out of conference looks to have done a pretty good job of preparing us for this conference slate.
  9. I don't know what 90 said that was premature. We were playing too conservative. We got one deep ball in the first half on a tremendous catch and run by Brelan, other than that we had nothing to speak of.
  10. Have to put them right below A&M Commerce
  11. He meant that he would be looking for Orr hiding under his jersey, because he couldn't seem to get Orr off of him all day. Twas a very weird reference.

  13. Belongs to your North Texas Mean Green!
  14. If we can hold on we'll have a better record than TCU and SMU. Best record in the DFW has a nice ring to it.
  15. Just like every conference game, we're a better team than our opponent
  16. That's the second time in the last two road games where DT has stared down the defensive lineman that he threw the ball to. I completely agree that it was a stupid call, but DT needs to throw the ball at Byrd's feet instead of right in the lap of the d-lineman.
  17. Hey Cooley, there was some talk after the injury was diagnosed for Graham that he might be back by playoffs. Do you know if that is still a possibility?
  18. Dodge was injured during his senior season iirc. I'm pretty sure he missed two or three games.
  19. That usually factors in at least a little bit. White is another example of why a big year on the field could be vital for recruiting. Also for a guy like Fonzale Davis who is really drawing a lot of attention from the big boys.
  20. We have a game tomorrow. You have chancellor on your mind.
  21. I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. Not talking crap about any recruits. Just stating that it's nice to have underclassmen pushing upperclassmen for starting spots. We've had upperclassmen starting by default in the past. We're seeing a lot of freshman making it hard to keep them off the field despite having experienced guys in starting positions. Regardless of ranking and who was offered by who, it's good seeing freshman push for playing time like John, Fred Scott, Sed Ellis, and Darvin Kidsy. That shows me that our recruiting is improving, because we have the depth where we could've redshirted the guys, but they've proven too good to keep off the field.
  22. I love it! Hope John has the fiery intensity to prove the recruiting websites that you do. Actually, that's probably where you got that from. Personally, I factor in a player's offer list, film, and his recruiting site rankings in that offer with the first two subject to alternation. I trust a player's offer list before I trust my personal evaluation of his film, because I cede that I am not a professional talent evaluator. Just a college kid who played in high school and has watched college football obsessively since I was 7. When a player has been recruited over it means that a player has been passed on the depth chart by a younger player. Some freshman come in bigger and/or faster than a 21 or 22 year old could ever get. This is a good thing for the program and means that recruiting is improving. An example is Darvin Kidsy playing over seniors like Pleasant and Caldwell. Cyril Lemon starting as a true freshman is another example. John playing as a freshman is an example too, make no mistake about it. Diamond in the roughs are great to have, especially the ones that pan out. But it's also great to get highly-rated guys who a lot of people want and can contribute early like Zach Orr and Cyril Lemon.
  23. Looking like the most realistic possibility for next year.
