Breaking news — UNT adds WR Fonzale Davis
BillySee58 replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
This is Greg Tepper's, of Dave Campbell Texas Football, predicted bracket for 4A. He predicted Frisco Centennial to beat SOC in round 2 and make it all the way to the state quarterfinals. Impressive for SOC to win in such a blowout. http://www.texasfootball.com/assets/2013-Playoffs/GT4ADI.pdf -
This will actually happen is the sad thing.

Breaking news — UNT adds WR Fonzale Davis
BillySee58 replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Davis has 68 catches for 1421 yards and 16 scores while Thomas has just 30 catches for 489 yards this year, but he does have 13 touchdowns. I haven't watched a SOC game live, but just going off stats it's not even close who their number one receiver is, except maybe near the goal line, and it's Davis. Curious as to why you think Davis is second best behind Thomas. -
Breaking news — UNT adds WR Fonzale Davis

Exactly. Kid is dynamic. SOC will play the winner of Mansfield summit and wylie next week. They have a very good chance to keep this playoff run going and it'll be fun to see how Fonzale's playmaking abilities impact the games as the stakes get higher. -
Looking in the immediate future it could between the two of us as far as who is the top dog in the division again next year.
-
The players voicing their opinions on twitter. They don't care about hosting the CUSA championship game, they'd rather wrap up the division.

Breaking news — UNT adds WR Fonzale Davis

SOC leading frisco centennial 28-0 first quarter. Fonzale already has a 51 yard touchdown catch. -
It would put Rice at 2 losses, Tulane at 3 losses, and UTSA at 3 (for what that's worth) and us at just 1 heading into the last week. Insurmountable 2 game lead on Tulane and UTSA with just 1 left, and 1 game lead on rice but we'd hold the tiebreaker so the best they could do with us would be tie and lose via tiebreaker. But as NT03 said, it'd be better if us and Rice both finish 7-1 in conference and we advance on tiebreaker. Better for us with regards to our BCS lead on Marshall, so we could potentially host the CUSA championship game if Marshall knocks off ECU.
-
For BCS to host the championship game?
-
Yes we can. If rice loses today we would need to beat UTSA and have Tulane lose. Then we'd have the division clinched going into the last week.

Portland beats Idaho 88-74.
-
Down 12-30, 7 minutes left in first. We need to beat Idaho tomorrow or we could leave Portland 2-4
-
Idaho losing 4-18 with 12 minutes left in the first half
-
We've stepped into a very competitive conference
-
That's the question. We are pretty damn talented but we know we can't win on talent alone. Disappointing to see Aniefiok be a nonfactor after his performance against Nicholls.
-
We have some really good players. Our guards can score with the best of them, and Vaughns was a very solid pickup. We have the talent to make some noise.
-
Seems like all their guys are sophomore and freshman. A few juniors of course, but most of their team was still in high school the last time we played them two years ago.

Abbe has been getting notice and he has the size to play DT in the NFL, no one has ever argued that. Another guy I could see getting some looks would be Aaron Bellazin. He's leading the conference in sacks and he's got the size and length worth looking at. As far as actually getting drafted, Orr and Chancellor have the best chances and they have pretty decent shots. Bellazin, Abbe, and Trice should get looks from scouts and hopefully camp invites. If Orr and/or Chancellor don't get drafted I see no way they don't get camp invites.

Looking like Darnell Smith will play, from what Mac said at the presser. He basically said that Smith, who he did not refer to by name but rather ambiguously, would have missed a game last week if there would have been one but should be good to go on Saturday. Seniors like Abbe and Bellazin said they made it a priority to not come out lackadaisical on the bye week. Senior leadership has been a strength of this team all year and I would expect nothing less on their senior night.

UTSA Fans: "Apogee Stadium, the Dark story"
BillySee58 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Thank you all students who helped pay for Apogee stadium through tuition, and donors! It has made my college experience exponentially better than if we were still in Fouts and it has been the true homefield advantage that we were lacking. -
Who do you think will win that Coppell vs. DeSoto matchup?
-
Olen is 2010, but my point was that George referenced the 5th-year seniors, class of 2009, at the Coach Mac show last night but he went more into detail about the 2010 class, some of which are still redshirt juniors and not playing their last game at Apogee this week. He mentioned every member of that class who is still on this team by name, all 12 players even the redshirt juniors. This was because both of the guests on the show were Bellazin and Abbe, two true seniors from the class of 2010.
-
He did. George was the one who brought up the 2010 class because Bellazin and Abbe, the guests, were both apart of it. But yes, awesome senior class. I think that was what George was getting at. He referenced the fifth-year seniors but he got into a little more detail with the class of 2010 because they have guys who are in the record books like Brelan, Byrd, Bellazin, Orr, etc. Also gave DT his dues.
