  1. Absolutely. The key word is should. We have the weapons, as was an excuse in the past, and we have some young talent at qb. We should be able to air it out and I hope playcalling doesn't hinder that
  2. That's what I'm afraid of as well. Very iffy. Good to see us bringing in some stud receivers in recruiting. At least that's a focus, and if those guys pan out you'd like to think we'd utilize those guys as our strength.
  3. We can sign 27 this year. We have about 23-24 scholarships open right now but that's without kids quitting or transferring. I could see us signing all 27. And yes. We are ahead of schedule compared to last year.
  4. Seriously? That'd be nice! Maybe Max martial? For those who haven't been following his recruiting thread, he will be playing in the offense-defense All-American bowl in Orlando this year. That may be the third most prestigious high school all-star game in the country. A lot of SEC, ACC, and other AQ conference commits will be playing in that game. He'll have a chance to prove himself against the best in the country and represent us and Carthage on a big stage.
  5. That's good to hear about Rutherford. And Goree committing really isn't that surprising. He named us our leader and said he'd commit today. Also, on his twitter page he often retweets UNT players. Not to mention the Colorado insider of 247 predicted he would commit to us, and Colorado was one of the schools going after him the hardest. I can't help but read your posts in a John goodman voice, haha
  6. Goree had 17 touchdowns last year and 23 so far this year and over 1200 yards both last year and this year. His team, Carthage, is 11-1 right now and will take on Sillsbee in the third round of the 3A division 1 playoffs. They have a legitimate shot at the state championship.
  7. Yup. Our two outside receivers will be between Kidsy, Terrell, Goree, and maybe Fonzale Davis although he is most likely a slot and will backup Carlos Harris. This is what good programs do. Reloading rather than rebuilding.
  8. Rutherford is 6'4" but Goree is more productive. Both are great additions! The writing was on the walls, but glad it actually happened.
  9. Wow, good catch. Definitely didn't even see that lol. He also has been retweeting a lot of our players and no players from other schools after him. All hints lead toward us, but putting too much assurance into this happening tomorrow, much less at all, is how you can get disappointed by a teenage kid picking where he wants to go to college.
  10. I got ya. Before this gets too sentimental a make-up I will say that statement did anger me a little because I had a friend who is a pretty strong UNT supporter and actually cares about the team as a student, who couldn't make it because of bronchitis. He was very upset he couldn't come and asked for constant updates. Because of that I took your statement a little personally and misinterpreted the way I heard it at first. I can agree on the complaining front. Team put out a lot of effort on rough day outside and they've given us a lot to be thankful for this year.
  11. Quick update on Tee Goree. Did not make it in on Saturday with his qb Bogenschutz, UTSA commit, probably because of the weather, seeing as they had already freezed their butts off at their game the night before. He also will be playing in the offense-defense All-American game in Orlando either in December or January. That bowl is about the third-highest profile high school all-star game in the country behind the under armour and army all-american bowls. There will be very good talent from all across the country at that game. Finally, he tweeted tonight that he is very excited about his future. Tweets are tough and sometimes dangerous to read too much into. Could mean he is going to commit tomorrow, could mean something non-football related. Either way I'd stay tuned tomorrow to see what goes on here.
  12. I agree. Very cool to hear Mac say that he knew more about Mac than Mac knew about him. And for those looking forward to a baseball program, he is a guy who enjoys his baseball, is very invested in athletics at the University, and is a record setting fund raiser. That all adds up very well for baseball at UNT.
  13. Not trying to make this personal. I just think some are misunderstanding you. They're arguing like they can change your opinion because it's a blanket statement, when you make it very clear what your opinion is and that you are sticking to it. But yeah, I'm sure you care immensely about what I think.
  14. Heard the show on the radio. Warner will most likely not be ready for this week but he said he's basically a sure thing for the bowl. Mac said it's also looking like Dunham will be back as well for the bowl.
  15. That's a good point too. He makes blanket statements, but he stands by them and there is no shame in that. He also made a blanket statement on the podcast about how people shouldn't complain if they didn't stand out at the game in the cold. I stood out in that cold, but I still value the opinions of those who didn't and they can still be good, like Southbendgreen's. He wasn't there but he can tell why we lost better than a lot of people who were there. And obviously some people couldn't go because of health reasons, but that doesn't mean their opinion doesn't matter. Point is, there are always going to be exceptions to rules and the norm, and blanket statements usually have holes because of those exceptions. 09 has his opinion, it's a blanket statement, and he is going to stand by it. I respect that, even though I disagree. Again, no favorites between Mini Mac, Dajon, and Brock. Iowa vs Texas vs Colorado. Excited to see which talent plays the best, regardless of where they are from.
  16. You said earlier that you weren't at the game on Saturday, but you have a better explanation and idea of how things went than a lot of people who were at the game. Another spot on post by you.
  17. Exactly. Don't forget to think about it from the players' perspectives too. If you told Coach Mac before the season, or these seniors who've been through 3 or 4 losing seasons here, would they take a 7-4 start, would they say yes just like all of us would? Probably. But they felt the division lead and chance at a conference championship slip away first hand. So of course they're pissed too. They worked hard and weren't just settling once they hit 6. They wanted more and worked their tails off for it. But they have for sure earned everything they've accomplished and that is definitely something to be proud of.
  18. If I had to pick who our qb is going to be next year, I'd say it's going to be Dajon. But you're making this a matter of picking sides. Or like we're GMs that are making a draft pick between Brock and Dajon. Us "Brock guys" are just saying that counting him out is pointless. What if he blows it up in spring ball and beats out Dajon? I just want whoever gives us a better chance to score more points and win us more games at quarterback. That's who my favorite qb between the two will be. Regardless of where they came from, they both play for the guys in green right now so I'll root for whoever is under center equally and unconditionally.
  19. Agree with this 100%. And yes, their running back is Ed Mccaffrey's son. Their qb last year, who took over after Brock, was Luke Del Rio, the son of Jack Del Rio. Luke turned down a scholarship offer from Oklahoma state to walk at Alabama. Money is nice to have sometimes. But yes, they're both talented and both have the tools to be successful. May the better, more prepared, and healthier man win.
  20. Depending on affordability for students, I would hope between 25-30K.
  21. I'm interested to hear him talk about Freddie Warner returning as soon as this week against Tulsa and Blake Dunham possibly returning for the bowl game. Should be a fun competition for replacing Trice at free safety between Zed Evans and Freddie Warner. Warner is one of the most talented players on our football team, when healthy.
  22. They're both very talented. Whoever can be more consistent, can command the offense better, and can stay healthy will win the job. I really hope that whoever isn't our starter between Dajon and Brock is our backup. I hope we utilize both of their running abilities, and if we are you always have to be weary of injury to your qb and have a capable backup ready.
  23. Because you totally can't access the chat-room from your phone. Although I don't even bother to try when I'm in Apogee. Doesn't mean she wasn't at the game just because she was in the chat room.
  24. I think we should, but Mac seems pretty confident in his system. We might see more spread principles, I hope we do, and we should. But will we?
  25. You don't have to convince me with that, I completely agree.
