  1. True, I just think their production in high school is much more than anything Chaz Sampson ever did. He was a combine guy.
  2. Honestly, I was born and lived in Tennessee for first 7 years of my life and I grew up following the vols in all sports. Here's an article from their bowl game in 2010, talking about their 2011 early enrollees participating in bowl practices. http://www.thedailytimes.com/Sports_News/story/Vols-start-bowl-preparations-with-praise-from-Dooley-id-005878
  3. True, but he was kind of the same deal. He just didn't produce in high school either. He was 6'4" with speed, but just wasn't a receiver.
  4. I agree, but Stradford just wasn't a good receiver. His high school stats greatly paled in comparison to the guys we're bringing in. Look at his high school stats at the bottom.http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Tyler-Stradford-48851 His OU offer was solely based on his speed and it was a reach from the start by them. None of his other offers were any where near that caliber, and they were all based on his speed. Not saying the guys we are bringing in are sure things, but they know how to get open and actually run routes, not just in a straight line. Leading receiver in East Texas (Goree) and leading receiver in DFW (Davis). Just have to hope they stay committed, get developed well by the coaches, and get utilized to their fullest.
  5. Right. Once he finishes his school's semester he can head up to Denton and move in, and start practicing. Any practices held at our bowl site, he can't participate in. Edit: went a little yoda on the last sentence.
  6. No, it's a real thing. He doesn't get to travel with the team and he isn't eligible to play in the game, but he can practice at UNT with the team. If we travel to a bowl then he wouldn't be able to practice with the team at the bowl site, but he can participate in the practices at our field. Not the bowl sponsored practices at the stadium of the bowl. Sorry. Felt like I repeated myself a lot there.
  7. Yes they do, and we're going after one. Hafoka Olie. http://rivals.yahoo.com/theoldcoach/football/recruiting/player-Hafoka-Olie-137730 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xNvgmWonrqI
  8. Not to mention he starts practicing with us next month. Since Connor will be enrolling in the spring he will be able to practice with us once the fall semester ends. Probably just scout team and such, but a chance to get his feet wet nonetheless.
  9. Throwing to Kidsy, Goree, Fonzale, Rutherford, and Jalen Adams. Calling pass plays would be a good idea
  10. I agree and have for a while, following his high school season. We offered him because he has the size and had a decent junior year as a first-year varsity starter. The thinking was that he'd take a big step in his second season as a starter, but he regressed statistically. We won't need him to start any time soon with Dajon most likely getting the redshirt. Means could potentially move to tight end or back up Dajon for four years and compete for the starting qb spot as a redshirt senior.
  11. Tee Goree just turned 17. They'll grow plenty, don't worry. They're playing receiver on the outside, they don't need to be big bruisers, but they will put on some weight.
  12. Yup, for those of us OCD people, if you're doing dynasty you need to add in ODU and WKU after year 1, drop Tulsa, ECU, Tulane, and switch USM and UAB to the west
  13. Jeffrey Wilson, running back, Elkhart JT Williams, defensive tackle, Denton Ryan Max Martial, JUCO defensive tackle, Iowa Western C.C. Aaron Jenkins, defensive tackle, Dallas Lincoln Christian Beard, offensive lineman, Waco midway Xavier Washington, defensive lineman, Cedar Hill If we can lock up these guys then we can go try and get some big fish who maybe would not have considered UNT before the year started. But it's nice having commitments from the leading receiver in East Texas and in the DFW.
  14. Yeah, they may not have the most stars between the three of them (although Davis and Goree are solid 3-stars), but I dare you to find me three receivers in any recruiting class in this state that have more production catching the ball than these three. Plus all three still going strong into the third round of the playoffs with hopefully plenty more big catches to come. I'm very excited about Jalen Adams as well and he's going to help upgrade the position as well with his speed, maybe even the return game as well.
  15. Glad to see you posting more on here Devin. Very few students out there who bleed green the way you do.
  16. 68 catches, 1421 receiving yards, 16 receiving touchdowns. Edit: so in other words, we have the leading receiver in East Texas and the leading receiver in the DFW
  17. One thing we know this team has is talent
  18. He has he production that our qb commit Connor Means doesn't have, but Means is about 4 inches taller and faster. Personal preference kind of thing.
  19. Here's an article from ETSN on the commitments http://etsn.fm/carthage-receivers-terian-tee-goree-okeeron-rutherford-commit-to-north-texas/ SIAP
  20. Baylor only has two receivers currently committed but Texas has six.
  21. He's committed to UTSA and that's his only offer reported.
  22. More win in this post. The legitimacy of his talent and his age two more positives. Who knows, he could have a little bit of growth left. Maybe height wise, but I'm sure he'll grow weight wise being in a college weight program. But we don't need him to be Dez Bryant big or anything. Yeah, I really don't know what gives with his offers. He has the height, speed, and has produced about as much as you'll see in high school for one of the best 3A programs in the state of Texas. No prospect is ever a sure thing, but Goree and Rutherford give Mac a lot to work with and he has developed the talent here pretty well. Just hope he utilizes them.
  23. Yeah, not to mention the kid has caught 40 touchdown passes the last two years for over 2,500 yards and still going. Against 3A competition, but pretty good 3A competition. Size, speed, and production are all nice traits to have.
  24. Funny you should mention that. Here's his thread from their fan forum. Very elitist fans and saying things like he would only pick us over Colorado us so he could stay close to mama. Definitely a fan base in denial. Read the recent posts after he committed today. http://www.allbuffs.com/showthread.php/92913-14-TX-WR-Terian-quot-Tee-quot-Goree They are a pac 12 school, but they haven't been relevant since they got smashed 70-3 in the 2005 big 12 championship game.
