Here are the stats. Not all completely updated yet. Rutherford is 6th with 14 td receptions and Goree is 1st with 25. Goree is also tied for 6th with 6 interceptions.http://etsn.fm/east-texas-football-statistics/?source=mobilenav Jeffery Wilson isn't ours yet, but hopefully soon. He plays 2A football, so I wouldn't be too scared of having too many carries. Not a knock on 2A football, but he's getting tackled by 150 lb linebackers. He'll be fine, and I hope we get him.
-
He definitely isn't a dual-threat. He just isn't an upgrade over any of our qbs IMO. I haven't seem him play since high school though, so who knows.
-
Played against him in high school. JUCO kid, think he'd have 3 years left to play 3.

100% correct. We could really use those sites. It's not even about the forums, it's about having insiders and updates, including updated commit lists. We have very little say in our prospects getting good ratings. Fortunately, that isn't what matters and that isn't the reason why we're 8-4 and going to a New Year's Day bowl.

Look one post above yours Haha, I completely agree. They usually reserve the bumps from 2 stars to 3 stars for kids who get late offers from and commit to big BCS programs like Texas or A&M. That's why those schools might have 2 stars committed at some point, but by signing day they are all 3 stars and the kids that didn't get big time offers are bumped down as a result. There is, I believe, one more re-assigning of stars after the all star games are over, a couple weeks before signing day.

Looks like UNT will be closed tomorrow.

Did no one realize that before? We're playing on New Year's Day. That's the biggest day of bowl season, when a lot of the major bowl games are being played. Outback bowl, Gator bowl, and Capital One bowl will all be playing at the same time and will probably all have a ranked team, if not two ranked teams playing. I agree, it isn't great, but we're still playing on New Year's Day in Dallas. Just glad I get to see them live and in person.

UNT will be holding a Bowl Press Teleconference today at 7PM

Sweet! Good job to everyone involved! And good job to Brett. -
For this reason I want us to show up, 30,000 strong and pound them into submission.

BYU lost to #21 UMass yesterday 105-96. Before people on here say "oh, they lost to the number 21 team in the country, big deal," remember, the argument was not that we lost to BYU or their "white boys." It was that we had no semblance of an offense, we kept running that sloppy zone that was getting penetrated and shot through like crazy, and we were down 40 late in the game. We aren't UMass, obviously, but they, along with everyone else, have at least out up good point totals on BYU all year. And no, BYU is not a top 20 team like some on here have said. We didn't get run out of the building by Duke, it was a good, not great BYU team. I'm going to enjoy the HoD bowl announcement today though. Bought my tickets this morning and am ecstatic.

Good question. I bought my tickets this morning, hopefully on the right side. -
He was an Elite 11 finalist a couple years ago.

Looking at open offers on offense
BillySee58 replied to GrayEagle's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Yeah, we're basically done at skill player with the exception of maybe one more running back in Jeffery Wilson from Elkhart. It may be a pipe dream, but Caleb Chumley at tight end might be a guy we go after hard. As for lineman, we're only losing one senior lineman this year (Anyiam) but we also had a freshman quit (Cody Nelson), so that's two open spots. However, since we're losing 5 scholarship linemen next year (A Johnson, Y'Barbo, Lemon, McKinney, Cam Feldt) we will probably take a few. Also, Avery Fortenberry may be grayshirting so he would count in this class. Then we're looking at adding probably at least two out of Christian Beard, Will Copa, and JUCO Corey Clements. -
28-14 Carthage win. Congrats to them and our two commits on that team. They are 3A division 1, region III champs. Advancing to the state semifinals to take on La Grange.
-
Touchdown carthage, and a two-point conversion to boot. Two point conversion went to goal-line weapon O'Keeron Rutherford. Touchdown scored by that Pipkin kid, having a great game with over 200 yards and 2 scores. 28-14 Carthage lead with about a minute left. Really like how Rutherford is so productive by the goal line. Hope he can continue that and be effective in the red-zone for us as well.
-
Tee Goree with a huge interception. Second of the game, with West Orange-Stark driving in Carthage territory down just 14-20. Carthage now has the ball with a little over 8 minutes left.
-
West Orange-Stark has cut lead to 20-14 and has the ball. Late third quarter.
-
O'Keeron Rutherford catches a 9-yard touchdown pass to make it 20-0 at halftime. 14th touchdown catch of the year for the "other" Carthage receiver. Very impressive. Sloppy first half with wind playing a huge factor, negatively affecting the passing and punting game. Edit: Tee Goree had a pick to end the half.
-
Lol. Man amongst boys, as they say.
-
1st drive for Carthage: 5 plays, 69 yards, 2 catches by O'Keeron Rutherford, and a 31-yard touchdown run by their running back Tevin Pipkin. Pipkin is their leading rusher in school history and has 0 offers currently as a senior. I think NT03 said we were close to offering him before Ivery committed. Either way, Pipkin is a stud and will be college ball somewhere

Terry Ayeni New Mexico Military Institute DE (JUCO)
BillySee58 replied to ntmeangreen11's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I agree with you, not the analogy. If that big 12 school is Texas, OU, or OK St (maybe even Baylor) they can win recruiting battles all day against bottom rung SEC schools like Kentucky, Miss St, and a few others. -
He backed out

There's a reason he's a 4-star on 247 and the 20th ranked JUCO player in the country. This would be a big get. He'd very likely come in and start in place of Bellazin and Daryl Mason would take Sarge's spot. Throw in pass-rush specialists like Quenton Brown and Chad Polk (has looked very good this year) and we could have a decent looking rotation. Also, since he's so big, we could easily slide him in at tackle on third-down and let him go one on one against a guard. Not to mention young guys like Jarrian Roberts will allow us to redshirt incoming freshman Johnavohn Graham. Really like this guy's film. He should be our number one priority.
