Derek Thompson is a Mean Green Hero

Must resist agreeing with you. Can't. Agreement level too high. Can we talk about his HOF candidacy later? Still got plenty of time to enjoy this win and his heroic and solid performance. -
Yes to Bellazin. Not very tall for an end at about 6'2" but big and extremely long arms to go with a good motor and production Also, a sleeper guy I wouldn't count out completely is Drew Miller. Not going to get drafted, but should get some looks at fullback invites to a camp or two. With fullback becoming a dying breed in college football, these shorter but still big tight ends and defensive ends are often the guys who play fullback in the NFL. Drew also can be dangerous out in the flats as he showed in college.

Thank you Brett! Great job this season. Looking forward to your coverage of recruiting this last month.

I wish we marketed football more to TWU. College right down the road full of kids who would love the saturday college football experience. Do TWU kids get a discount or something to go to UNT football games?

Yes, the road schedule will be pretty tough. I don't see a single road game where we will not have a chance going in, and depending on the road game against the unknown CUSA west opponent, we don't really have any gimmes on the road next year. That being said I like our chances at successfully replacing our qb production better than Rice and UTSA. I know UTSA returns almost their whole team, but they don't scare me without Soza. We can score against their defense, same with UTEP although they will be better on offense with Showers back.
-
If we beat Texas we're winning 10-12 regular season games next year.
-
Great performance today. He played his butt off his whole career and has plenty to show for it.
-
And here's what the schedule will likely look like next year. Home games: -SMU, Nicholls St, La Tech, USM, UAB, and an east division team (probably not MTSU) Away games: -Texas, Indiana, Rice, UTSA, UTEP, and an east division team (quite possibly MTSU in Murfreesboro) SMU will be a lot like the Ball State game this year and Indiana will be a lot like the Ohio road game from this year. Our home schedule sets up very nicely and if we can continue our road success from the end of this year and close out the close ones we could be in a very good position to have a good record again.
-
Also, didn't know if this was mentioned but we had as many wins this year as SMU and TCU did combined.
-
Jimmy show finished with 9 touchdowns on the season, including 2 against Rice and 1 today in the bowl game.
-
I wonder if this gives us any shot at sticking our noses back into Nick Orr's recruitment. He's still listed as a soft verbal to TCU, coming off a 4-8 season. Also, have to think this really helps with keeping the top guys like Fonzale Davis and Tee Goree if the big guys try to steal them away.

I have a really good feeling about the 2015 class.
-
I can't speak for all the current UNT students, but intend on joining as soon as I can after I graduate.

Exactly to Ben and Greg. Also, to those wondering about the d-line, don't know how many of you watched Alex Lincoln, Austin Orr, Daryl Mason, and Q Brown play today but they looked good. Especially Lincoln. Been watching highlights of the year lately and the younger d-line have really shown some bright spots. Polk is another guy who has played well despite being undersized. I have faith in Nelson and Mac that they'll get the d-line ready and keep those bodies fresh next year. Could easily be a drop off still though. Really hope, whoever the qb is, that we keep doing those short passes that get the confidence up. Definitely like the rhythm the up-tempo offense can give the qb.

Well yeah, but what can that lead to? I have always liked UNT and during their bowl run in the early 2000s you could tell that it was good that they would win their conference, but that seemed like that was the ceiling. It just feels different right now.
-
Had a great time at the game and celebrating the win since. Been thinking a lot about the win and Mac talking after the game saying this is only the beginning. After seeing that sea of green you can't help but wonder who out of those roughly 36,000+ UNT fans aren't itching to watch another football game. Are we a sleeping giant that just awoke? Not to putt the cart ahead of the horse, but I really like the way we stack up against the teams in this conference next year. I know we lose a lot of guys, but we were just better than these teams in our division and we are set up right in one of the top 5 high school football hotbeds in the country, unlike these BCS buster teams like Boise and Northern Illinois. Next year will be huge as well. If USM and UAB take the places of Tulane and Tulsa with scheduling then we could play 10 out of 12 games in the state of Texas next year. Talk about statewide exposure. Keep enjoying the win. Just some exciting food for thought.

Exactly. A season of sellouts and let's convince the Rick, the BOR, and everyone else that we need to expand Apogee
-
Great playcalling in the second half. Played to DT and our offenses strengths.
-
All DT on that drive. Amazingly tough performance today
-
Wonder what's up with Kidsy. Terrell and Pleasant have been our 4th and 5th receivers. Kidsy hasn't played all game
-
This win sealed it for you. Congrats!
-
Didn't peg you as a basketball guy too. But yes, sweet victory
-
Yeah, we really could not have asked them to play much worse, but we do have a talented team and I'm not going to take anything away from Benford on this one.
-
12-44 A&M shooting. Yikes
-
I'd like to think we can play like this whenever we want.
