Who will be the 2014 North Texas starting QB ?
BillySee58 replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
Not fair! You can't change up what we're arguing about! You said "betcha Dajon is with the ones from the start of spring ball" then you say you're confident he'll be running with the ones consistently half way through spring. I disagreed with your first statement, but I completely agree with your second one. So what's your argument? That he'll be the first qb given a rep with the ones in spring or that he'll basically have the job locked up midway through spring? -

This is Clayton. Class of 2010, which would make him a redshirt senior if he enrolled in college the semester after he graduated high school. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/100061/sean-clayton I wonder if this is Rice. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Sam-Rice-107155 -
Well, it's happening. P5 to make their own division.

No, I agree. Same with the Dominique Ferguson kid that FIU signed 4 years ago. Although the Butler NBA players Hayward and Mack were not highly regarded recruits and I don't think they picked Butler over any P5 schools. Just checked and Hayward had a Purdue offer. If he would've gone to Purdue no way they make that first NC run or get the recruits that they have in subsequent years. It would mess things up majorly. This really just should not happen.- 34 replies

As long as they don't take away the three point line and keep the scholarship max per team at 13 the non P5 schools will always have a chance in basketball . But yes, this greed is sickening and it would not be good for college football if this happened.- 34 replies

Who will be the 2014 North Texas starting QB ?
BillySee58 replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
He may very well take the reins early on, but when you are set to have a qb competition you give the first reps right out of the gate to the guy with seniority. If Dajon gets the first reps right off the bat, when they first start running plays w/o pads on and when they first start with pads on, then the coaches will basically be declaring Dajon as the starter and there wouldn't be much need for competition. -

BillySee58 replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah, it'll probably be like the beginning of this fall camp. DT, Mcnulty, and Brock rotated with the 1's and 2's in that order and Dajon had the 3's. It'll probably be Mcnulty, Dajon, and Greer rotating with the 1's and 2's, in that order, and Means will have the 3's. -
Breaking news — UNT adds WR Fonzale Davis

Think you're confusing Kenneth Arthur and South Oak Cliff with Blake Bogenschutz and Carthage. They both threw to UNT commits. -

Area's leading receiver getting some post season recognition. Xavier Washington as well. Also, do your self a favor and watch Fonzale's highlights if you haven't yet. Kid can ball. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1133501/highlights/62182375 -

All this X talk is making Drake cry -
Charlotte is one of the most balanced teams in our conference and one of the tallest teams. They've knocked off Kansas State and Michigan earlier in the year but have not been playing as well of late. In their 90-86 OT win against Tulsa they had 6 players in double figures. This did not include their leading scorer, so they have plenty of scoring options unlike Marshall who just had 2 options. They also feature two of the conferences leading rebounders in 6'11" center Mike Thorne Jr. (7.8 rebounds/game) and 6'9" Willie Clayton (9 rebounds/game). Should be a nice challenge.

Can we get a blanket waiver from the mods for more negatives? -
MGB: NCAA approves blanket schedule waiver
BillySee58 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
It's really both. Did you learn nothing from this week, and the investigation that we got pitied out of having to forfeit a loss? We played 5 non D1 schools. That has never been done when Johnny was here, then you throw in the fact that two of those teams played us down to the wire on our own court. A team whose players drove themselves to the game in their own cars (Northwood) almost beat us. -

No one complained because we blew those weak teams out of the water! How many times do that have to be said? For you and Kram. Wayland Baptist and Northwood each had a game-tying 3-point shot attempt in the last minute of the game. That's the problem. -
Maybe it's just me, but you can only say "if we had only beat _____" if it was a game we let slip away. Not one in which we never lead.

Big wins for UTEP and FAU. Should be a pretty wide-open conference race. La Tech is right at the front of that though.
-
Already offered 3 cornerbacks for 2015 (Josh Butler from West Mesquite and Lafees Lyon from North Carolina). I really like the emphasis we're putting on cornerbacks, that way we can continue to blitz and allow our safeties to play downhill.

Go back and read 03's first post about De La Torre. Said he was a DT turned FB. He meant LB turned FB.
-
De La Torre was a linebacker I thought.
-
I thought you were kidding (still think you might be). Yeah, he went in when DT went down with a temporary injury. He fumbled the first snap (not a good snap iirc) and threw a pick in his only pass attempt. He did much better in the Georgia game. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/gamecast?gameId=332430249&version=mobile

For those who wanted that ace d-line recruiter, looks like we may have just gotten that guy.

Is this official or just a wish list guy? "Rivals named him one of the top 25 recruiters in America and the top recruiter in the big east." Signed Ryne Giddens and Jason Pierre-Paul.
