  1. Think you're confusing Kenneth Arthur and South Oak Cliff with Blake Bogenschutz and Carthage. They both threw to UNT commits.
  2. Area's leading receiver getting some post season recognition. Xavier Washington as well. Also, do your self a favor and watch Fonzale's highlights if you haven't yet. Kid can ball. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1133501/highlights/62182375
  3. Yup! Happy birthday! Good luck to you guys going forward
  4. Charlotte is one of the most balanced teams in our conference and one of the tallest teams. They've knocked off Kansas State and Michigan earlier in the year but have not been playing as well of late. In their 90-86 OT win against Tulsa they had 6 players in double figures. This did not include their leading scorer, so they have plenty of scoring options unlike Marshall who just had 2 options. They also feature two of the conferences leading rebounders in 6'11" center Mike Thorne Jr. (7.8 rebounds/game) and 6'9" Willie Clayton (9 rebounds/game). Should be a nice challenge.
  5. Can we get a blanket waiver from the mods for more negatives?
  6. It's really both. Did you learn nothing from this week, and the investigation that we got pitied out of having to forfeit a loss? We played 5 non D1 schools. That has never been done when Johnny was here, then you throw in the fact that two of those teams played us down to the wire on our own court. A team whose players drove themselves to the game in their own cars (Northwood) almost beat us.
  7. No one complained because we blew those weak teams out of the water! How many times do that have to be said? For you and Kram. Wayland Baptist and Northwood each had a game-tying 3-point shot attempt in the last minute of the game. That's the problem.
  8. Maybe it's just me, but you can only say "if we had only beat _____" if it was a game we let slip away. Not one in which we never lead.
  9. Big wins for UTEP and FAU. Should be a pretty wide-open conference race. La Tech is right at the front of that though.
  10. Already offered 3 cornerbacks for 2015 (Josh Butler from West Mesquite and Lafees Lyon from North Carolina). I really like the emphasis we're putting on cornerbacks, that way we can continue to blitz and allow our safeties to play downhill.
  11. Go back and read 03's first post about De La Torre. Said he was a DT turned FB. He meant LB turned FB.
  12. De La Torre was a linebacker I thought.
  13. I thought you were kidding (still think you might be). Yeah, he went in when DT went down with a temporary injury. He fumbled the first snap (not a good snap iirc) and threw a pick in his only pass attempt. He did much better in the Georgia game. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/gamecast?gameId=332430249&version=mobile
  14. For those who wanted that ace d-line recruiter, looks like we may have just gotten that guy.
  15. Is this official or just a wish list guy? "Rivals named him one of the top 25 recruiters in America and the top recruiter in the big east." Signed Ryne Giddens and Jason Pierre-Paul.
  16. It doesn't open up a ship for this class. What's holding us back from signing more is the 25 per class limit. And since we signed 25 from last class, including walkons put on scholly, we can't backcount any into last class.
  17. Wow. A lot of people called this. What a crazy and weird situation this ended up being.
  18. He was once a Texas commit. Will probably go back now with Strong there. Possibly #1 fullback in the country, but not really kept track of anymore.
  19. Here's the all-district team for 7-5A. http://texashsfootball.com/2014/01/09/2013-all-district-7-5a-team/ Xavier Washington was co-defensive MVP along with junior d-lineman and booger clone Bryce English, who should totally join the d-line commit exodus at Texas and come to UNT . Brandon Garner, Shaq Jackson (2nd year in a row), Chris Orr, and Nick Orr were all voted to the 1st team. Congrats to all those guys! It's one of the deepest and most talented districts in the state, but one thing you'll probably notice is that the teams are a little out of hand. 10 linebackers on the 1st-team. 10! 4 players were 2nd-team all district qbs. Either way, don't let that take away from the season a lot of these kids had.
  20. I too hope it doesn't hurt our efforts at getting Xavier Washington. However, our two commits from DeSoto don't list any other offers right now and you'd like to think we can beat out Texas State if we really want Tillman Johnson, the other d-end we're after.
