MTSU had a similar season in 2018, and lost their last regular season game to finish 16-2 in CUSA, then lost their first game in the CUSA tourney to USM. They got a 3 seed in the NIT and that’s what I would expect us to get. Based on where most bracketologists seem to have us relative to their cut line. We seem to be perceived below most people’s first four out and next four out, and that’s more or less your 1 and 2 seeds in the NIT.

WKU/MTSU talk: how good are they, really?

Do you get the love behind any team besides North Texas? -
Drake won yesterday and finished out their regular season at 22-9. They’re one of five wins we have this season against teams currently sitting on 20+ wins. Pretty good stuff. Not to mention the teams we lost to have 19 wins (Buffalo), 23 wins (Kansas), 20 wins (Miami), and 22 wins (UAB). We have basically reached the point as a program where if you aren’t a legit 20+ win college basketball team, you’re not going to have much of a shot getting over the top against us.
-
NET only factors in games against D1 opponents. 2 of our wins are against non-D1 opponents, hence the 20-4.

Absolutely. If we’re being greedy, I’d say just about the only change I’d think would make for an easier path is FAU hopping WKU for that E2 seed. If that happens it probably solidifies us vs. La Tech in the semis, which might be our opponent either way. Getting Lofton and a 7-man rotation La Tech team on their 3rd game in 3 days should play to our advantage.

The concessions had long lines all game long. I’m sure they made a killing so it’s not exactly hurting the bottom line by selling a bunch of cheap tickets.

3/9 from the floor and missed 7 of 14 from the free throw line, plus 4 turnovers with 0 assists. He was able to make an impact, especially rebounding, but if we’re being objective he did struggle that day on offense.

Wichita State lost in double OT today to Houston. That was their chance.

Farmar and Afflalo were 5 star recruits and Josh Shipp was a high 4 star (43rd overall in the country) all signed in the 04 recruiting class. Those were the top scorers on those mid 2000s UCLA Final Four teams. On the flip side, Russell Westbrook was a 3 star signed after that first Howland Final Four run.

Ticket prices starting at $3 for the home stand. $12 off tickets prices for the 12 game winning streak is the promo email I got from the AD.

Man, it was huge for us that Perry made the trip and played today.
-
Boom. Thanks, guys.
-
We really need him for this one. Just want a little extra confirmation that he is playing today.
-
Do you know if Tylor Perry made the trip to Birmingham?
-
That’s what I was thinking. Couldn’t remember the exact numbers.
-
Correct. We rolled everyone’s listed grade classification forward on our roster, but the classes per that verbal commit table are accurate from an eligibility standpoint. We have 4 players truly exhausting their eligibility this season, and that’s Jahmiah, Wright, JJ, and Bell.
-
Yup. Unfortunate that they can overturn the out of bounds call but can’t retroactively call a foul there
-
FAU really did a good job answering when it looked like we were starting to pull away. Now it’s on us to get our offensive rhythm back.
-
Love the aggressiveness offensively
-
Feeling good

You play all of the teams in your division twice for 12 total division games, then play 6 of the 7 cross-division opponents. Everyone avoids 1 cross-division opponent, which is FIU for us.
-
The best place to see our listed offers is here: https://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/north-texas It shows all the offers we have out to uncommitted players, as well as the current roster.

Good info. And I’m sure a Mac endorsement would hold even more weight than it did back then.

Moving up from 12 is going to be really hard. Keep in mind that there are probably a good 10-12 teams ahead of us fighting for those last at large spots. In order to move up to the 11 seed line you have to hop all of those teams, not just 2 or 3.
