  1. I know you have a "class clown" sort of reputation on here, but everything you said last night was spot on and anyone who argued against you just doesn't know what they're talking about.
  2. Greer gives good interviews and quotes.
  3. 20 less pass attempts, 21 more passing yards.
  4. Didn't say it never works out. I'm a fan of out-of-state recruiting. But 3 of our 4 Louisiana signees in our 2012 recruiting class are no longer here, 2 years later. Speaking of our 2012 recruiting class, another player no longer showing up on the roster is WR Rod Lancaster. Another receiver loss. I would be surprised if we don't pick up at least another receiver for this class.
  5. Their look a like thread is very good. http://www.latechbbb.com/forum/showthread.php?127956-UNT-Look-A-Like And I'll say 30-17 us.
  6. On his hudl video his height, weight and 40 time are listed in lime green which means those numbers are SPARQ verified. The height and weight were done at a Nike SPARQ camp and his 40 time was done there as well, where it was laser-timed (as opposed to hand timed or just made up). So he officially checked in at 5'8". Anytime a kid's number aren't SPARQ verified, or verified at some camp, they can only be taken with a grain of salt. Especially the 40 time.
  7. Just from a pure athleticism standpoint he was. But he was an out-of state kid and that's always a gamble in itself. Can't tell you the real reason and I'm not going to speculate too much.
  8. True Freshman WR Jalen Adams is no longer listed on the roster. Without Adams we really don't have any young slot receivers on the roster. Darius Terrell, Skip Caldwell, Derrick Teagarden, and John Chelf are our current slots. But all 4 are seniors. Carlos Harris has plenty of experience in the slot (started every game there last year) and he may be moved back there next year. But even so, he will be a senior next year. This may open the door for Fonzale to get re-recruited by us out of Kilgore. Trinity Valley JUCO receiver Jarvis Baxter may be more of a possible take now. Maybe Savon Rollinson out of Dallas Skyline. Or Willy Ivery could see more time at slot down the line. A lot can happen, but there's a good chance Fonzale is given another look now.
  9. Don't think I saw this posted anywhere else, but Moore did earn CUSA special teams player of the week.
  10. I'm fine with that. So many schools recruit Cedar Hill that it's hard for good players to slip through the cracks and fall to us. It's possible, as evidenced by guys like Brandon Akpunku and James Hamilton, but they were able to fall to us because their junior year CH had one of the most loaded teams in state history. As a result, Akpunku and Hamilton didn't start until their senior year. Plus, these kids have high aspirations. They see their teammates signing with the LSUs and Texas type teams, so they want to sign with the big name as well. Same with DeSoto. All this talk about our DeSoto recruits, we have only landed 2 in the past 4 classes and both didn't have any other offers. I'm not saying don't recruit schools like DeSoto and Cedar Hill at all. But you can't just recruit kids just because they're from those schools. I'd rather get a kid like Jeffery Wilson from tiny Elkhart, Texas. If Jeffery Wilson played for CH or DeSoto he would likely be signed off to and playing at a Big 12 school.
  11. If only we could find our Russell Wilson.
  12. Yeah, Tillman played. He drew a holding call.
  13. CFB Performance national placekick we of the week! We found ourselves a kicker.
  14. For the record, Buyers replaced Whitfield on the far side of the field. Jones replaced Hilbert Jackson on the near side of the field.
  15. He was being recruited as an OL. And a darn good one.
  16. It's always been DW. And not because of listed 40 times from high school or skin color.
  17. Played great this Saturday. CS Sports CUSA defensive player of the week. Always get maximum effort from him. Well deserved. http://www.collegesportsmadness.com/football/weekly-awards
  18. https://twitter.com/a_preston27/status/508292002384207872 His buddy was Calvin Bundage. Forgot to post this when I saw it yesterday. Bundage is a guy to watch. He's a big safety who plays with Preston. He's 190 as a junior, and I think he'd project well as a speedy outside linebacker in the defense we run. That Will position where we put speed at. Like Ellis, Marshall, Will Wright, etc. All of the guys who cover Oklahoma prep sports have been very high on Bundage as well.
  19. Fun fact: La Tech's new QB, Cody Sokol, was the QB at Scottsdale CC the year before our message board all-star Brock Berglund arrived there. And he's given them a big boost at qb that they lacked last year.
  20. They are ahead of us in the state totem pole as far as recruiting goes. Hopefully we do this again next year, along with a successful season, and that may flip. Would certainly be good for us.
  21. It looked like one was thrown at an SMU press guy. Don't know about June Jones. I didn't see the toss but I heard the "ooh" and then the guy go over to the officer on the sideline and complain about it. It is absurd at the lack of credit they're giving us. Skladany had them outclassed all day.
  22. On the longer completion to Terrell it looked like if the throw wasn't short he would've walked into the endzone. Was that the case from all angles? Because I guess I complained on that play by shaking my head while I clapped. But all in all there wasn't much to complain about today.
  23. He's really an interesting prospect. Good player from one of the most highly recruited schools in the state. I'm surprised he doesn't have more offers considering who he plays for and how good he is. He is small, but still. Also, he was the only shorter, slot-type receiver we offered out of high school this year. I wonder if maybe he's a take with Fonzale out of the picture. But we might not have very many spots left so I don't know that slot receiver is much of a priority. Who knows? But he definitely would be a nice playmaker to have.
