  1. 6'2" 295 lb offensive lineman from Crosby high school in Crosby, Texas. Plays left tackle but projects as an interior lineman in college. We have offered. Also holds offers from Colorado, Texas Tech, Missouri, East Carolina, Louisiana Lafayette, Memphis, Houston, and Texas State. Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/862361/keenan-murphy http://247sports.com/Player/Keenan-Murphy-37275 http://sports.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Keenan-Murphy-155668 http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/197275/keenan-murphy http://recruiting.scout.com/player/7607022n-keenan-murphy
  2. Moore commits to SMU. Chad Morris gets it.
  3. I don't believe "missing a class or two" is the problem. Missing classes would usually mean he has to finish classes to meet a requirement for something like an associates degree. Because he was a qualifier out of high school (didn't qualify at UCF but did at WKU), he did not have to earn his associates degree at Butler in order to be eligible and get accepted here. I think GPA is the issue here. Yup. I don't think it would be too hard to get him eligible for this year. I think the bigger challenge would be keeping him eligible for the 2016 season. He has already been out of high school for 4 years, so there are only so many easy classes he can take before getting into major courses. But him being on campus really improves his chances, as opposed to him being at Butler by himself.
  4. Even he himself, and the coaching staff, won't know that until the semester is over and grades are official. Semester ends mid May.

  6. 3/7. We are Marshall's HC opponent as well.
  7. Eastern Michigan is the bad MAC Michigan school. Western Michigan has enjoyed a lot of success in the last decade or so. And they were 8-5 last year, return one of the nation's most efficient passers (so no, Mcnulty would not start for them like you said he would), are towards the tops in the nation in returning starters, and signed the top class in the MAC for the second year in a row. I wish we were on their level. Here's their recruiting class.http://westernmichigan.247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/Commits
  8. Thanks for the input and the information. That makes sense. You're right. We need someone now. Maybe Means is too young to ask a lot of right now, but he has a long way to go and he has to start getting to that point eventually. I feel like he didn't make a lot of progress from last spring. That can't be the case again next year.
  9. No, transfers can come in on scholarship. Guys like Pegram, Terrell, Trice, and Anthony Wallace all were on scholarship from day 1 after transferring.
  10. At 0:34 in his highlights, every lineman's dream.
  11. 6'6" 315 lb offensive lineman from Lexington, OK. Plays right guard and right tackle. We have offered. Also holds an offer from Tulsa. Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1413726/tyler-brown https://rivals.yahoo.com/oklahoma/football/recruiting/player-Tyler-Brown-166472
  12. Also, Vito joins the debate. http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2015/04/former-guyer-qb-to-make-call-this-week.html/
  13. https://twitter.com/glaprodigy/status/590895251297935362 Picks up a Colorado offer. This kid's blowing up. Looks like we'll be looking elsewhere for our 2016 QB
  14. 18 bench reps for Voss. That would've been good for 2nd at our football players' pro day (Akunne had the most with 19). Antonio Johnson and Cyril Lemon combined for 19.
  15. Can someone explain to me what the buzz around Means is coming from? I wasn't able to make it to the spring game, but my friend who made it, whose opinion I value a lot, said Means did not look impressive. And the stats say he was 6-15 (40%) so that comment seems warranted. I don't mean this as a personal shot, because you're far from the only one, but I don't understand how people can be so low on Mcnulty and Greer, yet feel so good about Means considering this is his second spring on the team and he has yet to give Mcnulty or Greer any resistance. But, like I said, I wasn't there so I'm curious as to what it is people see live with Means, because all I really have to go off of are high school stats and film and spring game stats and film.
  16. I respect Coach Walsh's opinion, but I would also imagine he would not have thought our other young scholarship QBs were D1 guys either (Means or Chumley). Means completed just 49% of his passes as a high school senior, so I doubt he could've played for Walsh and it could've been the same thing where Walsh encouraged Means to move to tight end. There's no doubt in my mind that Walsh wouldn't have thought Chumley was a D1 QB either, because he isn't. Our starting QB didn't have any other D1 offers, and wasn't really even close to any others. Hell, even Dajon only had one other offer, and it was from an FCS school in Montana. It's absurd to me that a kid talented enough to get offers to play quarterback (all Dillman's offers were as a QB, not any other position) at schools like Florida State, Auburn, Nebraska, Tennessee, Clemson, etc could never be hoped to be developed to the point where he could compete with the type of QBs we have. I understand Dillman is a steal at tight end, and could contribute from Day 1. I just think with his work ethic, obvious talent, all of his eligibility and redshirt remaining to develop, and our dire situation with the future of our quarterback position that he could easily see the field. Keep in mind, here's another QB who was never going to see the field at Guyer and transferred out after not being able to beat out Shawn Robinson. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-David-Moore-164601 David Moore, with 17 FBS offers. Anyways, my stance on Dillman hasn't changed, but I won't be too upset about him not being given a chance if we can find a good young QB this class. Because we really, really need one.
  17. Louisiana-Monroe and Houston have offered. FWIW I think Herman will make things more difficult for us out in East Texas. I think he'll put more effort out there than Levine did.
  18. Yeah, they did get switched to private. But how much can you really tell about a QBs accuracy in highlights, when every pass is complete? Accuracy is a consistency stat, so I'd need to see a QB play live or see his completion percentage to call him accurate. That being said, I don't think accuracy is a huge issue with Smith, but I don't think it's necessarily a strength either. His completion percentage hasn't been that high in high school or JUCO, but he also throws downfield a lot so that skews it a little. He would still be plenty accurate considering his abilities, to be our guy if he gets eligible and gets on board with the system.
  19. 6'4" 330 lb offensive lineman from MacArthur high school in Lawton, Oklahoma. We have offered. Also holds 1 other offer, from Utah State. Plays tackle but could project to guard in college. Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3181813/tj-fiailoa https://rivals.yahoo.com/byu/football/recruiting/player-T.J.-Fiailoa-164775
  20. If you asked Coach Mccarney to name as many class of 2016 QBs as he could, I would honestly be surprised if he could name half the names that another FBS head coach could. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the indication I get.
  21. We also signed Tight End Kelvin Smith, so if we move Chumley to tight end that would give us 3 true freshmen tight ends (Smith, Dillman, and Chumley). I still think we need to move Dillman to QB. Dude wasn't just being recruited, he was legitimately being offered by the powerhouses of college football. He was throwing in front of coaches like Jimbo Fisher, Gus Mahlzahn, Dabo Swinney, and Butch Jones and they were all impressed enough in person to offer. We don't need him to be a Heisman-caliber QB. You couple that potential with his work ethic and plenty of time to develop, and I think he has a better chance to be a solid-CUSA level QB than our other young QBs (Means and Chumley). Means still has time, but it's his second spring and he still isn't even pushing our other QBs, who have not proven to be good CUSA QBs. We could really use another legitimate option for the future, and I think Dillman could be that while Chumley is not. Then there's the enigma that is Dajon Williams. Either way, we really need a good QB this class.
  22. Nebraska offered. We have still not offered Wilson yet. The only QB we have offered to this point is Easton Underwood, from Jackson, TN. With spring football over I expect to see the offers start flying out, as we have gotten off to a slow start (for example, we have offered about 43 kids this class while SMU has offered closer to 90). I fully expect a QB this class. It seems like just a matter of time until Chumley is moved to tight end, and Means did not have a good spring, plus this staff still appears set on putting Kevin Dillman at tight end. We could really use a good QB this class.
