  1. Even if he does, he's a senior and this coach is going to be judged more on years 3 on.
  2. Virginia Tech. I think it's safe to say we'll go into spring with just our current QBs
  3. 6' 190 lb athlete from Alto. We have offered. Just recently committed to Tulsa, and also holds offers from SMU and Louisiana Lafayette. Ran for over 2600 yards this season. Played quarterback and safety in high school, but it doesn't look like QB is where he is being recruited by the schools who have offered, but I'm not sure about us. I'd be surprised if we offered at QB. highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2990845/johnson-keenen http://247sports.com/Player/Keenen-Johnson-81263 http://www.scout.com/player/197741-keenen-johnson https://rivals.yahoo.com/smu/football/recruiting/player-Keenen-Johnson-175177
  4. Get used to modern-day recruiting out of our staff haha. Part of the reason we probably offered him before a 2016 guy is because this kid will be one of the 2017 QBs we go after, and we could offer quite a few. We probably won't offer more than 3 total 2016 QBs at this point, and we'll go after all 1-3 of them very hard.
  5. NT03 and I did a little research on his stats and there's no way he rushed for only 700 yards this year. That's way off. He had a 254-yard performance at the beginning of the year, a 202-yard performance in his team's only playoff game this year, and some good performances in between. Was hard to find good, reliable stats on this kid. Also, Tommy Perry recruited him to play running back. Middleton's only other offer was from Colorado State as a linebacker, but I think he'll be an RB here as long as we keep Perry, which it seems like we will.
  6. 16 touchdown catches this year.
  7. QB recruiting starts early. Even our old staff offered Brandon George from Oklahoma. http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/topic/104673-17-qb-brandon-george-oklahoma/
  8. You're getting caught up in semantics. If you really want to get technical, every D1 football player is a Heisman candidate. Only a few are legitimate candidates, but that's not what I said. And it's besides the point. It's his job and Knight didn't want to sit behind Mayfield for his last season of eligibility. Not because Kyle Allen may or may not be transferring in.
  9. 6'2" 185 lb QB from Salesian high school in Los Angeles, California. Likely a Graham Harrell offer. We are his first offer. Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3688200/robbie-blosser http://sports.yahoo.com/byu/football/recruiting/player-Robbie-Blosser-169808 http://247sports.com/Player/Robbie-Blosser-77150
  10. Rushed for 700 yards and 7 scores on 122 carries this year. Stats don't stand out, but his film isn't too bad. If Perry stays, which it looks like is very possible, I would imagine this kid would remain a part of this class.
  11. Kyle Allen has to sit out next season, so that's not it. Knight will be gone by then time Allen is eligible to play. Heisman candidate Baker Mayfield is the reason Knight wouldn't be starting next year. Simple.
  12. No, but then you look around at the conference and you'll have 6 of the 9 teams that made up the Sun Belt in 2011.
  13. No. He was committed to Texas early. Wheeler from Allen flipped from us to Tech last class, but he's two years younger than Raulerson.
  14. Same. I just played off the invitation to go to a Bowling For Soup concert with him as him being nice, but I drew the line at the same place as you.
  15. Yeah, if a player doesn't qualify they have to finish up their associate's degree first. JUCO hudl's are usually confusing. Sometimes for the grade they're in they list the grade classification they are currently in, and sometimes they list the grade classification they'll be once they start playing D1 ball. And sometimes for graduation class they list when they are getting their associate's degree, sometimes they list when they are on pace to graduate with their bachelor's degree. Not sure about this kid.
  16. Grad transfers typically don't come available until after the spring semester is over
  17. Coach Littrell came on today with Greg Tepper and Max Thompson of Dave Campbell Texas Football. He said a lot of similar things to what we heard in his presser, but added a few new items. Was asked about thoughts on adding Texas high school football coaches to college staffs and if that would be an option. He was careful with his words but he made it sound as though that was an option. Has been very busy recruiting the last few days. Favorite meal is steak and a baked potato. I'll try and post the audio if/when I find it.

  18. Just messing with you. Everyone loves the kids who commit early and turn down offers to reopen their recruiting. Problem is there's so much pressure to commit early, yet so much change can occur during a kid's senior season, both internally and externally. For example, kids committed to other schools before we had Seth Littrell. Their opportunity to commit to him is now, and I hope we see a lot of that.
  19. Would you really want kids who would flip commitments though? Do we really want kids who aren't men of their word?
  20. Not as much if he has to sit out a year. That's Littrell's job. A guy with one to two years left of eligibility who played sparingly at Ole Miss is no more appealing than a good high school QB commit to other recruits. It's up to Littrell and crew to convince the kids he is. I've never seen anywhere that the hardship is a legitimate possibility. It just said he wants to be closer to his mom. He said take care of her, which opens up the speculation, but that just could be his choice in wording. But I guess we'll find out.
  21. Jinks named the head coach at Bowling Green
  22. To me that was just the administration trying to hype up a class following that bad 4-8 season he had (not as bad now by comparison). From an offer list standpoint the 2014 class was much better than 2015, and noticeably better than any of Mccarney's classes. Thank you!
  23. Possibly, but we'll hold off on it for now. Need to see if I can get something else to work out first. No. He was rated 3-stars by Rivals despite us being his only offer. For jucos I use their offer list out of junior college, but I keep note of their high school offer list if they had one. If they had a really good offer list out of high school then that means they have the athletic talent, generally. For FBS transfers I don't include them, but I keep track of their high school offer list. Again, it shows an idea of what their talent level is. For example, when heading into the 2013 season and looking at which players fit into my 3 all-CUSA criteria, Marcus Trice fit in there partly because of his high school offer list. He had a great offer list (so he had the talent), he had experience, and he didn't play amazing his junior year but he certainly wasn't a bust. He fit all 3 criteria so his all-CUSA season made reasonable sense.
  24. No, and I didn't want to take the time to look at every scholarship player in our conference and look at their offer lists listed on all four recruiting sites. Plus, it's not like all of our recruiting is comparable. For example, Southern Miss is more likely to get a good player who doesn't have an impressive offer list because he might play high school ball in an area where there isn't much exposure for to be recruited. Then you compare that to our recruits who are coming primarily from areas where they get all the exposure you could ask for. But like I said, it has been a good predictor for us, in particular. What I'm exhibiting is how accurate offer lists are for us, and how they're better indicators for our signees in particular than star rating. Rod Lancaster was a 3-star signee for us while Cyril Lemon was a 2-star. If that's how you're evaluating our signees, you'd look at Lancaster as a bust, and view Lemon as a pleasant surprise. But if you look at the offer lists you'd see that Lemon was an "A" recruit with 7 FBS offers, while Lancaster had no other offers, it makes complete sense that Lemon was a 4-year starter while Lancaster never played a meaningful snap.
