  1. That's probably because the juniors and seniors he was working with (from 2011 and 2012) were a bunch of linemen who either had one other FBS offer or no other FBS offers, then we signed just one in 2013, and had zero d-line commits when he took the job with about a month left before signing day 2014. He was not dealt a good hand, but he recruited well for the next d-line coach.
  2. Check out the links in my OP up top. Looks like he visited Northwestern State last month.
  3. Just picked up a Hawaii offer yesterday. Decommitted back in November. I believe one of the coaches is following him (Littrell, I think). Would love to see us get him in for an OV
  4. Good find. Yet another example of Littrell and co. going after players offered by the old staff.
  5. From what I've seen, Bailiff is sort of like Rice's Johnny Jones. So job security would seem to be the only thing that makes sense.
  6. This would be crazy. And bad for Rice
  7. Doesn't seem like it. Have you tried contacting the staff about him?
  8. I'm sure he does. But if he's scared by a QB prospect in the grade below him then he has no business playing P5 ball.
  9. It's just what he's said since his commitment to us leaked before he wanted it to.
  10. He had said he would announce together with Bryce English, then he tweeted something about how things change. Could've been either way. You're right not to assume, but it would seem that way. Should work out for both parties
  11. They never took down his commitment after it leaked and he said it wasn't official
  12. Looks like Starkel set his second visit for at A&M on the 22nd. He made it sound like he'd only take two official visits. I wonder if he'll still visit us after.
  13. Follow the guys whose job it is to follow these kids. They let you know when something substantial happens. Second-hand stalking: definitely less creepy.
  14. Which is why I don't follow the recruits. But I am in absolutely no position to judge people who do, lol
  15. Nice find
  16. They can, but this kid is coming from a DII school. I believe it works that if a player was on scholarship at his lower level school then he still has to sit out even if he isn't put on scholarship here (which he isn't going to be). At least that's how it works for FCS going up to FBS. Either way, it shouldn't matter. He shouldn't be on the field this year over guys like Goree, Smiley, Kidsy, Rutherford, Thompson, Khan, etc. Especially if he couldn't crack the depth chart last year at a DII school. Quality walkon pickup though. At least has a chance at some point in his career.
  17. Yes, but it's hard to really gauge his situation. Are we his only FBS offer right now? Can we ask that of him and still get him? Would waiting make him realize that he can go FCS and be eligible immediately, and would he choose that route as a result? Have we even definitively offered? A lot going on here, and the clock is ticking.
  18. I think this kid was somewhat of a late bloomer. Also pretty sure KP is following him on Twitter. Man I hate how creepy that sounds.
  19. Chris made a good point, that he has every right to withdraw because of the choice. The shame in the situation is that this dude most likely didn't even do any research on Withers or what he brings to the table. Just left ship because he was an FCS coach. I bet that same donor was probably ecstatic about Fran because he had more skins on the wall. Too bad Fran, similarly to Mac, wasn't a good fit to be a head coach in present day, regardless of past accomplishments.
  20. No, but on that level good recruiters are coaches who are the head coaches or lead recruiters for players who other big-time schools wanted. And can out recruit those schools. Which he did.
  21. He would give their recruiting a big boost
  22. That would be a really nice pickup
