  1. They switched to ESPN last year.
  2. The Ticket broadcasts SMU games
  3. 2-stars: Derek Akunne https://rivals.com/content/prospects/28192 Cyril Lemon https://rivals.com/content/prospects/52411 Jeff Wilson https://rivals.com/content/prospects/59225 Brandon Garner https://rivals.com/content/prospects/71280 3-stars: Cooper Jones https://rivals.com/content/prospects/49863 Rod Lancaster https://rivals.com/content/prospects/134876 Nick Schrapps https://rivals.com/content/prospects/106740 Mark Lewis http://insider.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/115403/mark-lewis Devante Davis http://insider.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/142913/devante-davis Rodney Bendy http://insider.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/198985/rodney-bendy Which of these recruits ended up being the most productive for us? The answer is the players who had good offer lists.
  4. You were going okay until you made it sound like 1-star ratings exist.
  5. RV was let go as soon as the school year ended. That alone tells me it was in the works for a long time, and that it didn't matter who RV wanted because Smatresk knew he wasn't going to be the AD going forward anyways.
  6. He's on pace for 1,241 by the end of the regular season, so yeah. Also on pace for almost 21 touchdowns by the end of the regular season. And his current average is deflated by that Florida game. I expect him to up his average going forward.
  7. Mccarney gets a lot of flack, as he should, for his recruiting and inability to run a program, but I always felt like his 2014 class was the best work he did here maybe aside from the actual 2013 season. This class wasn't huge, as we apparently had 4 spots taken up by walkons being put on scholarship, but it produced the stars of this team. Our top tacklers yesterday and biggest playmakers on D (along with Jenkins) Brandon Garner and Kishawn McClain, leading receiver Tee Goree, star running back Jeff Wilson, Willy Ivery, and some other role players. And most of these guys had good offer lists. No reason we can't fill out our roster with prospects like that.
  8. Yup. Also, people should be aware that we had another coach interview with us who has also taken his team to a 4-3 record, after being even worse than we were last year at 0-12. Scott Frost at UCF has them turned around just as impressively. All that to say, there's no reason we shouldn't be bringing in good coaches every time we have a job opening.
  9. He was trying to show you that this has already been pinned to the top. But I will pin something with the staff contact info, or put it in another pinned thread.
  10. Half the plays this kid has his hand around the guy he's blocking's back, and often just straight up tackles the defenders. Stuff that can be cleaned up, but will take a lot of good habit forming reps. He wants to finish, which is great to see.
  11. Here's the article. He does seem to think he has 3 to play 3. http://www.scout.com/junior-college-football/story/1717096-juco-qb-prospect-makes-his-choice However, his Angelo State profile says he was on the 2014 roster. http://www.angelosports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2985 And this 2014 position-by-position preview says he was a freshman who played the previous year in high school. http://www.angelosports.com/news/2014/8/27/FB_0827144914.aspx Then this shows his stats from last year at Navarro http://njcaaregion14.com/sports/fball/2015-16/players/devlinisadoret689 And we know he played this season before getting hurt. Again, by my count he should be no different than 2014 high school signees who redshirted and never transferred. Only thing I can think of is he could get a waiver/medical redshirt if he can prove his redshirt in 2014 was directly a result of an injury, coupled with this season's season-ending injury before a certain number of games had occurred. Or if he left Angelo State before ever taking a class. When in doubt, always look at the high school graduation/college enrollment year.
  12. Or, first let's ask @CoachMainordUNT , @coachfilaUNT , or @CoachHarrellUNT on Twitter what they think. Or email them about this dude at untfootball@unt.edu
  13. He's class of 2014. Same class as Tee Goree, Brandon Garner, and all the other redshirt sophomores on our roster. They are 2 to play 2 after this season, so unless he has some hardship waiver claim, Isadore is no different than them.
  14. Don't get why it wasn't mentioned that Garner leads the team in TFLs and is second in sacks, and his TFL lead should only grow now with more PT. Scott has played a lot, but he has never stood out to me. Garner needs to be out there as much as possible. Scott will still be used plenty, but Garner makes too many big plays to be on the bench.
  15. Going to be tough to convince him to come here if he has other substantial offers, given that we will have a true sophomore starter returning. We could use a player like this for sure, though.
  16. That wasn't a slight at the triple option. It was a joke because it's the polar opposite of the offense he actually runs.
  17. They've got about four months until signing day to check out a kid sent to them
  18. It seems like the purpose behind this thread has still not been taken well. The purpose behind the recruiting forum is to update everyone on who we are actively recruiting. If there is a player we are not recruiting who one of us would like to see us recruit, posting about them on here does nothing. In that circumstance the coaching staff needs to be contacted, so something can actually be done. This thread has just become a default thread for people to post about players we aren't recruiting. That is not what it was intended for. It was intended to encourage reaching out to the coaching staff about these type of players before posting about them. Please don't take this personally, as I am simply trying to reiterate this for everyone.
  19. Would be optimal to get an extra year of separation between Fine and Pearson by allowing Pearson to redshirt.
  20. I really felt like the downfall of the Mccarney was not only due to bad recruiting, but due to bad recruiting when we had momentum and things going for us as a program. Mccarney failed miserably with a 2012 class filled with players with weak offer lists, coming off a very impressive 5-7 season where he nearly matched Dodge's win total after just one season. Then in 2013 we struggled despite the announcement that we would be moving to CUSA. Finally, between our HOD bowl game and nine months later when we played our first game, recruiting really was unimpressive despite finally being able to show off a bowl victory and impressive season to recruits. That was the beginning of the end before the 2014 season even started. We have a lot going for us. It's time for us to start getting big time recruits who 5 or more other FBS programs want. Or get players here and there with lower-tier P5 offers like Iowa State, Kansas, Purdue. We're close and it's awesome.
  21. Did you reach out to the coaching staff regarding these guys?
  22. Super premature that we should be the premier program in CUSA west? It's a projection, not a declaration for this year.
  23. We are tied for first in the division. And while I'm not specifically referring to this year, given our recruiting base there is no reason we shouldn't be a premier program in this division. We finally competent coaches and administration who can help us realize that, and it's great.
  24. We're in every game, so we for sure have a chance.
