  1. I agree that SMU is deeper. They’ve recruited very well and our depth outside of receiver and nose tackle is underwhelming/unproven. Our backups at the other positions are primarily walkons and inexperienced players who haven’t really jumped scholarship players who are older than them on the depth chart. Like I’ve seen people say, Ben Hicks is not the most accurate QB and, outside of his connections with Courtland Sutton, he’s been pretty pedestrian against us. I’m really interested to see us get after him on third downs without Sutton or Quinn. Their running backs worry me a little, but I feel like our defense has defended the run well in the Littrell era. I think it’ll be close but I think we do get them. I think Guyton will look like the best player on the field.
  2. https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/Article/North-Texas-Mean-Green-football-recruiting-visitors-list-for-season-opener-against-the-SMU-Mustangs-121237325/ Free article, courtesy of Gabe Brooks. Lookout for what he is doing on 247 for the Mean Green. He’s an alum and a top-notch writer.
  3. That’s true for the NFL, but isn’t it a little more for college?
  4. Mentioned LeBlanc in the adoption thread, that’s my guy for sleepers. Loved his tape.
  5. I’m gonna go Nick Smith as he sets off to break the school’s career rushing record over these next three years. I’d encourage someone to take Dayton LeBlanc while his stock is low. He’s gonna be a brute on this line for quite some time.
  6. All I can think of when I see his name is Haddaway, and his hit single What Is Love
  7. Will it? That’s not the vibe I got from reading the article. It sounds to me like the new CUSA scheduling would be beneficial for RPI and NET
  8. Yes because he’s a redshirt sophomore. If he had not redshirted and was entering his junior season then he would not have been able to.
  9. Maybe his HS classmate Corey Mann can sway him here.
  10. I know these games have basically just been target practice, but I really think Mohamed is starting to look like a steal. 6’7”, athletic, good shooter, and can rebound. Might have trouble keeping him off the floor.
  11. Playing Venice’s Gold Team today
  12. Maybe the case. Regardless, the point of these games is not necessarily to give our guys the most battle-hardening games. It’s to experiment with some lineups and build chemistry on the court, among other things.
  13. Oklahoma State played in Europe as well this summer (Italy, Greece, and The Netherlands). They lost to the Italian National B Team by 27. Would like to see how we would fare against that same squad.
  14. Been meaning to post this. If you zoom in on December 5th it’s pretty easy to see that’s Indiana State he tried to white out. Not sure if that’s the exact date of the game or where at. Would make sense if it’s a return game in a home and home, since they played at The Super Pit last year
  15. The fun thing about this team is that everyone on the roster gives you skill offensively. Last year we were playing a lot with 2 or 3 guys on the court at the same time who brought you very little offensively and could not stretch the floor. This looks like a very well put together team with a lot of guys who can hurt you.
