  1. I think Wise is just redshirting at this point. He has been in the layup lines all year
  2. I wish more UNT fans would realize that UNT can win without Fine and Littrell. We have a good administration in place and we have inherent advantages over our CUSA West peers (i.e. Recruiting base, alumni base, facilities, tier-one research university, etc.). These aren’t the RV days. If Littrell leaves we have a good AD who can make another good hire. And that coach can find another QB who can put up good numbers. Fine is not the only QB capable of putting up modern-day QB stats at North Texas.
  3. It is. Why would you get more credit for being tied after 40 minutes than a team that won by 2 after 40 minutes? They didn’t get the extra 5 minutes to build a bigger lead, so it levels the wins.
  4. All correct
  5. No Fouts is where I have always parked. Kids 2 and under are free.
  6. Exactly. They could’ve won their division, which means they COULD have won their conference. Which would have made recruiting against them tougher this offseason. And yes, strength of schedule would only be relevant if we were undefeated and trying to claim that top G5 spot.
  7. San Francisco beat LIU Brooklyn, previously 3-0, by a score of 84-52 today. San Francisco is now 4-0 and has won all of their games by more than 30 points. They are in a similar situation to us where they haven’t really been tested yet, but that’s a team that looked really good against us and made us work for everything we got in that final game after we were chopping other 20-win teams up like slaw. I think both programs are going to look back at their respective CBI runs as the beginning of special stretches of basketball.
  8. Abilene Christian and Houston are the OOC home games. In division will be UAB, UTSA, and UTEP. Not sure who our cross-division home game will be against but it should be either WKU, FIU, or Charlotte. Won’t be FAU or ODU since we had them the last two years and shouldn’t be Marshall or MTSU because we had them the two years prior. Charlotte is the only CUSA team we haven’t played in football so good chance they are one of our two cross-division opponents. Here’s a mock of what it could be • Abilene Christian • Houston • UAB • UTEP • Charlotte • UTSA
  9. During Benford’s 5-year tenure at UNT, his teams won 3 games against Division I opponents by 20 or more points. In the 9 Division I games we have played since the CBI started we have won 3 games by 20 or more points. Also, this margin of victory is greater than any of Benford’s wins against Division I opponents in his 5 years here.
  10. 34 points is the lowest we have held an opponent to in a game since 1947, per Hank and Dave. Allowing just 52 points/game
  11. Worst our offense has looked all year. Fortunately UMES isn’t making us pay
  12. Prince McCarney
  13. We’re favored by 24.5 per ESPN. I wonder how long it has been since we’ve been favored by that much against a Division I opponent.
  14. That’s not the way vacated wins work. When a team vacates wins, the wins don’t transfer to the teams they beat. Even UNT Facts and Records Book shows McCarney at 22-32, officially.
  15. On the radio before and after the A&M Commerce game Mccasland stated that this Texas A&M Commerce game was a late add to the schedule due to a matchup with NC State falling through, as part of the Wolfpack Classic that we are in. NC State played Maryland Eastern Shore, and will play Maine, St. Peter’s, and Mercer. So I believe NC State plays every other team in this “tournament” except for us.
  16. Littrell up to 22-16. McCarney was 22-32. Which hilariously means Littrell is just 6 wins away from winning as many games as McCarney and Dodge combined to win.
  17. The ladies have done an amazing job of turning this season around. Hope they keep it going against Rice tomorrow.
  18. The rule is only applicable for football. The games mark that Andrew is referring to is how many games a player can play in for basketball and still be eligible for a medical redshirt (30% of teams’ games played).
  19. He is a good coach. In fact, his coaching is a huge reason that last year’s team overachieved and won 9 games before the roster had really been built up to that point. That, coupled with the 4-0 start, had people really believing we were further along than we really are. So now it looks like he’s blowing it when the reality is the roster was not built up to deliver on the expectations of the fan base.
  20. Yes. And when he finally got extended minutes. Our offense got tremendously better when we replaced Holston and Lawson with Duffy and Miller (right-handed shooting Miller). Holston and Lawson had the two worst offensive ratings on the team, aside from walk-on Bryce Jackson. Holston’s offensive rating was 97.1 and Lawson’s was 92.7(!!!). They were really holding the offense back.
  21. He’s recovering from a knee injury (I think knee as he had a brace on it a couple weeks ago). He and Rose are quite funny to watch on the bench. Seems like both should be good to go soon but are not being rushed back given how early in the year it is.
