I think the NET might make it easier for us to get some good opponents to Denton. The NET has shown that winning any road game period is a big plus. So programs who might have previously seen playing mid-majors on the road as a high-risk, low-reward proposition may see it as the opposite now. Baker should take advantage of this and get some High-Major home and homes scheduled like he did with football.

UNT NET Ranking Tracker - 2018/2019

Wisconsin moved down from 4 to 13 after that loss. Not sure what WKU was before but I’m sure they moved up. These update daily. -
Difference is their coach left and they had 3 or 4 players leave/dismissed right before the school year started. They also have a few players sitting out this season. I think they’ll be back to being competitive next year, just not sure to what degree.
-
Good call. So last year there were three (at least), but none in 2016 and 2018.
-
I believe the only P5 Head Coach opening filled by a Coach coming from another P5 school in the last three coaching carousels was Dan Mullen going from Mississippi State to Florida last year. Didn’t happen after the 2016 season and hasn’t happened yet this year. The degree of separation between P5 and G5 Head Coach is not that great. OU is a program, like Florida, that could lure another P5 coach but I don’t think you’re looking at candidates far above Littrell. I don’t think Littrell would be a shoe in, or even necessarily the top candidate, but I also think ADs care much more about overall record and recruiting track record than the results of the type of Bowl Games we have been in.

UNT NET Ranking Tracker - 2018/2019

NET has clearly shown how valuable road wins are, almost regardless of opponent. Which bodes well for us. -
I’m not sure about ever, but certainly looks that way for the foreseeable future. Riley is 35. If he leaves for the NFL now, even if he bombs, he would still be the front runner for any premier job he would want if he chose to go back to college. And he would still have another crack at a second NFL job down the line if he wanted that too. I don’t think he leaves OU right now but it would make sense from a few angles.
-
The job openings I’m worried about are the ones that will come open tomorrow. Especially if Lincoln Riley feels like after yesterday, with Mayfield and Murray gone, he won’t have a good crack at schools like Bama, Clemson, and Georgia for a while.

You’re right in that CUSA might have lost its chance to be a true two-bid league. In a true two-bid league, either of the top two teams could win the tournament and the other would still be in. Maybe a third team could win it and get three in. We don’t have that. However, we still have a chance to be in position for an at-large bid, and wins like these for the conference help us there.
-
Also, FAU won at Illinois. Good day for CUSA.

Kind of eerie how similar things are going into the La Tech game for basketball compared to going into the La Tech game for football. Heading into a home game with a great record facing dangerous La Tech teams while paying homage to the past. Hoping this time we flip the script.

They have almost exclusively played road games against Power Conference opponents

Really good offensive performance. Hope to see more of that, and tighten that perimeter d back up.

Comparing Recruiting Across The Years (December 2018)
BillySee58 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I could. But I’m not going to. Too many other factors, plus I’m strictly focusing on evaluating recruiting and quality of signees that we are bringing in. Not evaluating the quality of job that we are doing in developing and retaining these players. -

Finished with 106 yards and 2 TDs on 6 catches. Team only threw for 144 yards. Came up one point short, but can’t wait to have him here.

Thanks, I couldn’t tell because my ESPN app wasn’t loading properly and I just saw Colorado listed as the home team
-
Indiana State got a huge road win at Colorado. Could be a pretty solid W on our résumé at the end of the season
-
Completely agree. HP wants nothing to do with him

Over the years I have tracked the offer lists of our signees and compared classes based on those offer lists. I came up with a letter grade scale based on how many FBS offers each signee had and who offered them (P5 vs G5). C means we were the only FBS offer for that signee, C+ is one other FBS offer, B is two to four other FBS offers, B+ is two to four but with a P5 offer, A is five to nine other FBS offers, A+ is 10 or more other FBS offers. I finally made a spreadsheet to archive it all, as Scout was bought by 247 so some of the profiles I used to see all of the offers are gone, and it’s becoming harder to access older profiles and articles in general. Anyways, here are a couple of charts showing a few things from the 2011-2019 classes. The first chart shows what percentage of the class had a “B” or better offer list (at least two other FBS offers). The second chart shows what percentage of the class had an “A” or better offer list. The last chart is based on a points scale I created where each G5 offer is worth one point and each P5 offer is worth 1.5 points. The last chart shows how many points each class accumulated in total between all of its signees.

WLB and Jack are two different positions. There is a typo on the Kevin Wood blurb but he is under the MLB category. The bold headers are the positions and I go into detail under each header as far as which players are likely to fit in that position. The Murphy twins are prime candidates to play the WLB position, which is why I put them under that header, but since there are two of them they may be split up.

https://meangreennation.com/class-of-2019-national-signing-day/ I wrote a piece on MGN that details where I think each signee will fit in our scheme. Adam wrote a piece also linked in the article that goes into detail on each position in our base offense and defense.

Plantin is the other one. We announced the signings of 20 high schoolers, 2 JUCOs, and 1 grad transfer (Plantin) today. I wonder if they’re still referring to Garrison Johnson. Hopefully Roland is a blueshirt. Not sure who another would be. Roland was the only player publicly committed who did not sign, so if it isn’t Johnson then they’d have to be referring to someone who never verbally committed.

Has signed with us. https://247sports.com/Player/Quinn-Whitlock-46079200/
