He took an OV there this past weekend, so it’s not like other scholarship hoaxes in the past where the school was just never legitimately recruiting that player.
-
We just have so many LBs. Tyreke, KD, Thornton, Nixon, Hunt, Kevin Wood, Grayson Murphy, Gabriel Murphy, and Taylor Jacobs plus Brown and Johnson would be 11 scholarships on second-level linebackers. That’s a lot for 2 second-level linebacker spots, and even a lot for 3 if we change schemes.

I would like to see us also move Jacobi Johnson to DE and go to a front similar to what we had under Skladany, with a 1-Tech, 3-Tech, and the DEs at about a 5-Tech and 7-Tech respectively. Have Rausaw and Dotson at the 3-Tech behind Colvin and maybe LeBlanc for now, Tashoyn Johnson and maybe Leblanc at 1-Tech behind Novil for now, have Mccrae and Pickett at the 5-Tech, and Ozougwu, Jacobi Johnson, and Jimmy Walker at the 7-tech with Frow wherever you need him. Should be a good, young d-line group that could keep the linemen off our backers and have some quality pass rushers.

Parish is only 270 lbs. Brammer isn’t much better at 280. That’s concerning.

Glad we got him. I hope we can also find a solid offensive lineman in the transfer portal who can sit out next year then be a solid multi-year player for us. -
All he said were facts except at the end when he said to root for ourselves to look as good as possible.

Which part?

I hope we learn from both Rice and the UTSA match ups. Our defense is great in man to man situations, but we have struggled defending teams that run a lot of off-ball action. Rice is just 1-5 against us since Mccasland got here but they’ve scored effectively every time.

Don’t blame this loss on Joe Lunardi

Great stuff -
No but what we are shooting for is a 13-seed imo. We are in control of our own destiny when it comes to that. Maybe a 12-seed as well, but that might require help from our schedule. Obviously this talk means nothing if we don’t win the CUSA tourney, but this talk is relevant to the position we are putting ourselves in headed into the tourney.

They dropped 6 spots in NET with that loss from 118 to 112. We dropped 3 spots last night from other teams hopping us. It was an immaterial loss for WKU in terms of our SOS. And they lost to FAU, who we also played and beat, so it’s not as direct a hit as our NC opponents. If we keep winning we’ll be in a good spot to go into the CUSA tourney staring a 13 seed, maybe 12, by winning it. And both of those seeds should give us a matchup we would likely have a good shot at being competitive in. Not much more we could ask for imo.

WKU goes down at FAU. We’re the lone 1-loss team in CUSA.

Only 9 of those 15 are scholarship guys though. Plus, this kid is a high school sophomore
-
Yeah, he would have to somehow be getting a 6th year. Redshirted at Purdue in 2015, so his 5 years to play 4 ended this past season.

I don’t know. Even when I brought up Galban’s name I mentioned that I thought if it was gonna happen it would’ve happened by then. My guess is it would be someone from somewhat out of nowhere, like with Navarro, rather than a local kid. Similar to Galban, I think if it were going to be a local kid it would’ve happened by now. I would be surprised if they didn’t know about any of the three guys you mentioned. I think what’s more likely is these guys have all popped up on our radar at some point and none have stood out as guys we want. If it’s someone they’ve already passed on, I don’t expect them to change their minds due to the circumstances.

I said DT, not d-lineman

Good to see him find a pretty good role with a good team. Hope he keeps improving. Also good to see AJ Lawson leading Mcneese in scoring and having a good year.

Fun fact, Souley Boum will be playing his first game in the Super Pit for UTEP but not his first game in the Super Pit altogether. He was San Francisco’s second leading scorer as a true freshman back in 2017-2018 for their CBI runner up team.

They win and they win big. Up to 3-4 in conference now after a couple big wins
